what i mean about the sky piercer ignoring the shield is that the HP percentage for sky piercer to be triggered is not counting the amount of shield you got. which means, you cant use aegis or any other shield to prevent the enemy sky piercer to be triggered.
This makes Aegis, Blood Wings, Rose Gold Meteor, and Immortality redundant if the enemy decides to equip Sky Piercer.
Meaning shield casters aren’t safe if their HP is very low.
Instead of Aegis, go for Revitalize.
I actually read mlbb wiki and make a test in practice mode.
It says : Taking damage while shielded is considered not being hit; as long as the shield's damage absorption does not break (idk if this is official or not, but you really don't take dmg when shielded, proven by no dmg text popups).
And in sky piercer description, the passive will triggers after user dealing damage.
So this might be a bug, an annoying, and broken one.
Bcs unless your dmg > shield, sky piercer shouldn't trigger.
The amount of dumb people in the comments comparing it to Execute and all... so many ML apologists, it's annoying tbh

At any point if your HP is lower than 6% despite shielding, you’re done. It doesn’t focus on damage, it focuses on your HP.
That's why we called it sky cancer.
I smell excute rework probably. They will turn it into ignite maybe but with 75 healing reduction instead
A long time ago execute had anti heal effect. Hororo had old videos about this from ~2018
Ignite + Lethal Ignition is going to be broken for Assassins if that's the case lol.

such a BS item. Now I'm seeing Gusion or Aamon playing mid lane curb stomping REAL mages because they proc sky piercer with their fast, now casting delay skills and dash that they're already away while a mage is still casting their skills like chanting Hail Mary 10 times. Now it's so hard to play mages and especially roamer against these precious children of Moonton that can buest you quickly without any restrictions
It's a lot better than having ppl escape with 1%HP left, just die already.
The item is adaptive so it's fair game for all who want to use it.
gusion mid has been a thing since forever and aamon mid is really easy to counter

Too many tanks like Fredrin escape with low HP or Regen back.
If its intentional they should at least put it in the description.This happened to me when I was using hanabi with her 1st skill and aegis triggered at the same time then I was shocked when the enemy deleted me😅
Though you have the shield the damage from Sky Piercer is close to 10000 meaning no shield can save you

the description literally says it executes enemy with hp below 6-12%.
shields are not hp, and sky piercer passive is not "damage", even tho it shows 9999 true damage text.
it's more like making enemy heroes have 6-12% less hp.
Read the item passive, the item only detects HP, shield doesn’t affect Sky Piercer.

I think it because shield isnt count as hp. The hp is just hide behind a shield, so the condition to trigger sky piercer effect is still valid.
Then something like ball mond ultimate will not work....if HP is hidden behind shield

@@Marleigh_sanExecute also deals depending on the enemy's lost health when compared to the Aegis' shield amount, if the Aegis' shield amount is more than the executed damage amount, it can save you. Moreover, if the executed damage amount is more than the Aegis' shield amount, it can't save you.
what hororo chan is trying to say that they should at least make it that when having a shield it can prevent sky piercer from activating cause using Aegis being mostly used when you are in a risky position (Prob about to die) but sky piercer removes that purpose.
Immortality may get adjustment because of this item if necessary.
Skypiercer has a attribute of a execute.. as we all know the power of execute spell that can avoid shield and direct to the HP loss if u cast it. I think the mage ang MM will definitely benefit with this item.
Nah, it's the assassins that greatly benefits from this item especially in the early game which greatly hinders the enemy team's item buying.
It is a ture damage execute once u reach a certain hp. That is why is why it bypass shield.
It should have a cool down and they should just add more adaptive stats to the item to buff it's active stats and nerf the passive "execution" by giving it a decent amount of timer
did you know that sky peircer has a cooldown of 3seconds when activating it on the same target and yes they should do something like if theres a shield the shield will be instantly destroyed first or it will deal damage to the shield equal to the targets lost hp in a way that the item wont be abused and its passive cooldown i found out of it because of argus but yeah it might no happen to other heroes i hope moontoon agrees with this besides its hard to even escape that thing

that makes Aegis pretty much useless, there are a lot of times you use aegis at crucial moments where you are about to die but sky piercer removes that usefulness of Aegis. maybe they should buff aegis instead so that aegis would be a True armor shield something (a new effect) that can't be bypass by any means.
Just try to test it based on percentage of hp require to trigger the effect

I think it's because Sky Piercer is HP based and shields are a different hp bar in your character/hero. I think Sky Piercer will check on how much HP is left on the enemy after you damage them, not how much percentage (like your hp and shield combined will show more percentage in your hp bar) is left on your HP bar.
It really works like executive. They should rework that spell alongside arrival.
Also for xavier combo skill it trigger sky piercer at the same time

Assasin/burst junglers main issue was in mid to late game their enemies easily survive with low health due to defense items, survivability items like wind of nature, winter truncheon, rose gold meteor...
most physical assassins are unable to do anything against late game enemy mm with wind unless if they get help from teammates
This item made Queen's Wings, Blood Wings and War America, not to mention all the defensive items, obsolete. There is no point in playing Ruby or YZ when your sole purpose is sustain yourself in team fights and regain HP from nothing. You can't really make any outplays when they can burst down and delete you when your HP falls below 20%. Sky piercer made it difficult for mages and marksmen to snowball into the late game when Sky Piercer just keeps deleting them off the map the whole time, you can't have the passive of immortality or winter crown ready at your disposal.
Who has a shield that can block 9999 damage anyways, but they need to add 15-30 seconds of cooldown to that item or raise the price to like 2640.

+15 Movement Speed
Unique Passive - Lethality: After dealing damage to an enemy hero, executes the hero if their HP is lower than 6%. Gains 10 stack(s) of Lethality for each kill and loses 30% current stack(s) for each death. Each stack of Lethality increases the HP threshold of the execute effect by 0.1%, stacking up 60 times.
Basically it is insta-kill when low hp. every kill increase threshold and every death decrases.
i think it's intended, because when i first heard about sky piercer, i think it's as item replacement of execute (that also ignore shield)
The counter to sky piercer is having high hp so it wont trigger its ability

it deals like 600 true dmg to squishy (with 5k hp, lower hp lower dmg).
so this item is intended to secure kills if the enemy managed to escape with low hp.
whichhh i think is mostly effective for dps or heroes that have good poking ability.
it also helps burst heroes in early, but in late game, arent you gonna get bursted anyway even without sky piercer?
@@KubaKuba-gp7uq tank Jungle is the problem, but suddenly they decide to nerf all tank's item in general. Which kinda dumb, because mostly tank jungler's item is focused on high hp item so they can farm faster but they nerf the defense on all item.
If they want to get assassin back to meta just nerf tank jungler's farming ability and buff assassin jungler, just like the old days. Now with this patch they just ruining tank roam gameplay, no baiting, no kiting, they even having a hard time for just simply checking the bush. One cc hero and one burst then they already gone.

i think sky piercer is over exaggerated and over estimated in it's contribution to accumulative damage by the player wielding it. it has the strictest condition to even trigger the extra damage that you could miss the opportunity. Example, target runs out-of-range, wielder dies first, and a teammate kills target first (think Eudora burst) just to name a few. And will trigger only 1 time per player spawn. There are emblems and items that don't have limited triggers like that!! LOL! There are several items that more reliably contribute to a Unique Passive's extra damage. To name a few are DHS, Windtalker, and Endless Battle for physical. And magical are Glowing Wand, Feather of Heaven, and Starlium Scythe.
The only thing I see Sky Piercer is good for is to stroke someone's ego because he got the killing shot and prevents kill stealing. At mid game, most of everybody has 3500 hp. Sky Piercer will trigger it's passive between 210-420. aren't there emblems tier 3s that does way more damage? LoL this is a flavor of the month item. Nothing more. insane over hype. i wonder what the "but"s will be. lol
Is it me or Aegis Battle spell needs a buff maybe lowering the CD?
And how do you now complete one of the achievements of the game, where you have to kill 7 opponents in a match with less than 10% health?
You either don't or pray to not meet a character that builds Sky Piercer. Either way: You don't or you don't.
Devs should optimize this item like there should be a warning sign when enemy has the item and your hp is 6% below. You know like same as Martis ult warning.
I guess the sky piercer is base on HP thr eshold so if you use aegis it will completely become useless cause of late activation
Oh that's why I still got instantly killed by a roam saber while I used aegis.

The spell Aegis just gives you a shield which has a limited amount, which does not grant you a limited extra hp, even the shield can't save you because the shield is not effected as an extra health. If Aegis' shield affect as an extra hp, it would save you. Also you see the 9,999 true damage when they have been executed by SP, 9,999 true damage amount is more than the Aegis' shield amount.
The spell which exists in Wild Rift and which grants you a percentage maximum health amount, exists in ML, the spell would save you from SP.
It's literally "execute" with no cooldown!

lesley can deal as low as 50 to 100 true damage early game, and 1000 late game. If you have a shield ready it's fine
And the damage scales on your crit damage.

That's actually a real problem ig. Maybe they should like make "killed" a status effect and Sky Piercer give that to the target. Just an idea. Or they can like just make the remaining damage equal to the current HP +100 or something. OR just not trigger because making the shield part count as hp for Sky Piercer
I want to tell moonton to REMOVE and DELETE sky pierce because they're basically removing out plays and partly even pro plays. OR better yet adjust it to have CD and warning like Martis's ult.

There's a new bug on Zhask. The spawns completely ignore the hero lock mode or the target Zhask is attacking, they do their own thing
Zhask targets low hp enemy that is why it won't switch

Say for example you want your ult to hit a turret while there's an enemy hero in it's range, you could do that before by simply having Zhask himself attack the turret. Now whatever you do the spawn will do it's own thing

Seems like dev should rework it so it only takes effect when damage is dealt directly to the HitPoint of heroes.
In a 1 on 1 fight this would not happen because you would be dead before you can activate the shield. If you run away and get caught by someone its a different story

Shields/Barriers aren't considered as HP, so, whether if you're using an Esmeralda with a full bar of shield, but your Total HP is nearing 6%, you'd be killed with Execute/Sky Piercer

I think this is un fair because shield (other than Esmeralda) is protecting HP if you got low and the dmg not (supposedly) touch your hp bar it should be fine i mean except that dmg is dmg ignoring like true dmg or Esmeralda dmg sure this sky Piercer should work but if it not those dmg it can't....

I think sky peircer should only ignore armour for the first hit of a skill witn a 10 second cd to just help those heroes who get countered by twilight because there's seriously no reason why its just execute
How to counter it?
In my opinion they should reduce the hp threshold for the instant kill, also this item should only be available for 1 hero on the team. Sometimes there could be 2-3 heroes that buy sky piercer, free execute is really a pain to fight especially when they have other battle spells. And yeah I agree that the shield should have blocked the instant kill from the sky piercer

Maybe this is intentional as Sky Piercer is an OP version of Execute. (No CD + Range is base on your skill/basic attack)

IMO, they should put a CD on Sky Piercer's passive. (Just to prevent a 5man 9999 damage wipeout on a clash)
A Hero who has AOE damage with the current Sky Piercer can proc this scenario.

Isn't this item just based on the one from league? It's literally copy paste.
Though the one from league does have the benefit(?) that only Physical Champs should use it. Also it isn't protected against shields.
I just feel like this item adds so much to the chaoticness, which is what I love about the game, that it's already made a place in my heart(not that I use it that much, only on Zhask so far). And I like how it makes you "on edge", making you more alert and try not to get low on your hp(which either makes your team too passive, or makes your team actually think more). Of course this item is too much on 1-shot/combo heroes combined with fleeting time, is a bit too much.
Do people expect to survive an execute?
Especially when they are low health?
In League I got hit by a Draven with Collector and I was playing Sett while using my 2nd skill to gain a massive shield, and he dealt 2.5k True Damage with Collector. I want to see the death recap of Sky Piercer
