To be fair, Gaming is one the better 4 star dps in game while it nothing to right home about he is near on par with other 5 star dps,Gaming is basically that one guy that would end up in the honorable mentioned

it's not really powercreep between them as much as it is from the enemies, most of the newer enemies are too heavy to be affected by Venti's burst, but Kazuha can pull them together just fine with his skill. if it's a floor where it's all trash mobs that CAN be pulled by Venti, he's undisputedly the best
the thing is, venti's fall from grace has a lot less to do with kazuha specifically when you really think about it, because even sucrose is better than him at this point. they all perform similar things, but it's different enough that they should cover different niches. kazuha gives better buffs and is generally more preferred, yes, but venti has unmatched cc. the problem is that hyv has to always actively work around that fact, bc being able to permanently stun-lock enemies in a giant wind vortex is TOO strong. venti's cc breaks the game unfortunately, but kazuha and sucrose's weaker cc is just the right balance, and so it has lead to venti being indirectly nerfed.
i have them both and use them in different teams in abyss! venti is still great for gathering tiny mobs like specters or fungi, it's just that the game actively nerfs him by making most new enemies unable to be caught in his vortex (fontaine enemies are big offenders in this)
Venti has its own niche. He has the fast tick burst + small elemental dmg afterwards. Venti tuned to initiate swirls in various elements and reapply it just for the sake of long lasting swirls.
I think what he also forgot to mention that like unlike someone like Mika, Kaveh is VERY popular in the fandom. people freaking lOVE him. To the point that most of the twitter comments announcing banners are just asking for him back.
@@RuanMei_SocietyGenius A lot of people see Kaveh as one of the most beautiful characters they made, but I think a lot of that popularity also comes from people shipping him with Alhaitham. If he would've been passive around him or just talk with him a little bit and leave the scene, he would've faded into obscurity.

I got him from standard. But you know, WaifuGOD so don't use guys in abyss. Other than that he is kinda fun to play in coop, the sheer panic from people is hilarious.

While Kaveh is locked in hoyo's basement and no one has him, a lot of people who did pull for him probably still play him bc they love him so much (I have him triple crowned). He is by far the best written Sumeru character, especially if you consider him and Alhaitham as a pair, and his voice acting is superb, so a lot of people grew very attached to him. It also helped that the Akademiya event had the best event story we've had in a while, all focused on Kaveh. But just like Kaveh, that event is gone, so he really is a 'you had to be there' character.
I got that one in a million chance 2 weeks ago. My first Kaveh randomly joined from the standard banner, and I was more excited about that pull than any of the Fontaine 5 Star one's.

idk there should be a very easy fix for banners. If a 5 star is eligible for a chronicle wish, they should be added to standard. If a 4 star is over a year old, add them to the starglitter rotation and increase the 4 star options to 3
There are way too many 4* characters in the game for the latter to work. They should just add an Epitomized Path for 4* characters and weapons to the Standard and Limited banners.
To be honest, this is still just a perspective of the user base that actually cares about endgame/optimising. The majority are casual players that play who they like. An example is my sister, whose account I go on to play/build characters I don’t have. Her only requirements are that if I build someone, it can only be characters she likes/uses. So, Kaveh is on Nilou’s team and let me tell you, the high floor of Nilou bloom is so busted for casuals that Kaveh does not feel weak, and feels quite fun to play
i know this channel focuses on endgame content, but for characters like kaveh casuals should be taken into account too i think as you say. it's fun how in genshin, even "trash" units like kaveh or razor are 100% viable for everything (even endgame if you're hardcore enough tbh)
I agree! I have Kaveh as a DPS on my Nilou bloom, does crazy damage and self-heals from the cores too! Even if it's not "optimal", he's far from unplayable (unless you don't have him since he's trapped in hoyo's basement 😅)
Casual or not you can make every character in genshin really good if you try hard enough, which the meta players and whales are more than capable of doing, so I really don't understand why people complain about a character being weaker when all you have to do is build them a little more.
I'm the type who stubbornly uses my favorite characters even if they're weak and there's one team where Kaveh is king: shatter bloom. You just build him with a ton of ER and EM and put him with some hydro and cryo characters and boom, solid team. He's one of the only characters who can consistently proc shatter, which scales on EM, because he uses a greatsword

I play him in shatter bloom all the time because I'm stubborn and build teams around my favorites lol. But building him for shatter bloom is really the best since shatter scales on EM, so you just need that and ER

@@Starxii_-ub8yt I typically use Xingqiu, Kaeya (c2 or higher), and a flex character, but I try to use a dendro for the last slot for the resonance, usually either Baizhu or Nahida. But basically any cryo and hydro characters with a lot of off field application will work, and you could probably use Layla as a flex character even though the cryo resonance isn't as great as the others

I have Kaveh - I even built him 'cause Claymores are my favourite weapon type, and I think he's fun, but kinda clunky. His range implies that he's supposed to be the one to generate Dendro cores at close range, but without his Burst, he can't do that, and his particle generation is awful. So he demands a lot of field time, but doesn't supply himself with the means to achieve anything significant. But what really annoyed me with him is his first Ascension passive, which heals him for 300% of his EM when he gets hit by a Dendro Core. This is the only instance where his EM is taken into account across his kit - none of his other passives, none of his talents, and none of his constellations draw from his EM. And I get that a Dendro character with focus on Bloom would need a good amount of EM, but I hate that this is the only instance where his kit even acknowledges his split scaling. And even then, only his second Ascension passive even provides him with an EM buff at all.
Kaveh does have a pretty massive damage bonus to bloom dmg, the problem is that the buff only applies to blooms he created himself. Kaveh's main issue is more of a fault of the elemental guage system. Even if you had perfect ER and EM balance, Kaveh can't generate bloom cores quickly due to Dendro very quickly overriding hydro auras on enemies. Once Dendro is the dominant aura, it becomes hard to wipe it since you need double the amount of Hydro to clear a Dendro aura. Kaveh's Dendro application is slow enough to facilitate this, but only if paired with strong applicators like Xingqiu, and you don't use his burst and skill right after each other since they have different ICDs, and you can't pair him with another Dendro character cause then it'll be too much Dendro application. That's too many restrictions placed upon Kaveh from just the elemental guage system alone.

I'm not crazy about the meta. I pull for characters because I want them and that's all there is to it. Wriothesley was my first 5* and I love him to pieces. Heizou and Kaeya were my go-to's for DPS before him and I still go back to them sometimes. I got Ayato completely by accident and didn't bother pulling for Neuvi even on his rerun when I knew just how powerful he was by comparison. Kaveh may not be the strongest, but I resonate with him deeply as a character and he will always have a spot on my account if he ever decides to come home
I believe it important to remember that what we consider to be a player's "world" is just a bunch of entries in a database. For a player to be allowed to permanently damage another player's world in co-op means Hoyo was not sanitizing the data before committing it, which is horribly negligent for a game that had already been live for years...
Despite all the rumors, no one was getting their world ruined without their concent. Like said above, the deletion required using a hack, and it required for the world owner to modify their game files as well. The "bug" was never live, and the whole debacle was created to cause mass hysteria and online clout, maybe to get free rewards from hoyo. There is a reason no one knows anyone who had stuff deleted by a random person, and that is because those people don't exist.
I love Kaveh in many ways. He's such a great driver for my Nilou team since Nahida CANNOT tank these huge loads of boosted cores but he CAN take it ALL and get out full. And I hate YaoYao's immovable creature that forces you to either place it very responsible or run around it while Kaveh just be like: "Nilou buffed? Nahida marked? Xingqiu ulted? It's a SHOW TIME!" proceeds to ult, goes in, makes sure everything's dead, remembers he doesnt get paid for that and gets some time for a quick mental breakdown before I force him to fight again.
Small correction: players from after 3.2 could have gotten Albedo in the 4.5 chronicled wish banner. I also just clicked on the video to make the "no one has Kaveh" joke. I am original.
I was just thinking about how the setup of chronicle wish banner and the timing around many new 5star characters was so rough. There could have been several things you wanted from that banner, but you'd blow most all of your stockpile on it if you had one.
8:30 just a quick sidenote, you can get 2 bloom cores to deal damage at the exact same time but that's the maximum. Only after the mentioned 0.5 seconds cooldown (starting after the first core hits) you can deal damage with bloom cores again. You wont lose any damage by detonating 2 bloom cores with his skill but you will still lose damge when detonating more than 2.
@@zeer7676 Vars made a community post when the next banners were announced showing kaveh yet again not rerunning. In it he said that a WNOP kaveh video would be released becauee of it.
The main issue with Kaveh is that he focuses on Bloom, and has direct EM scaling because of it, but wants to normal attack. This forces him into Quickbloom Teams, pretty much always, or Nilou, as you mentioned. But in Quickbloom teams, we struggle with the issue of: Kaveh now needs Crit Rate, Crit Damage, lots of EM, and a SHIT ton of ER, because his burst is expensive and he barely generates particles. If you can meet all those requirements within his build, then he's actually quite a strong DPS, his normal attack scalings are pretty decent with ATK, and Spread gives him a naturally high base floor in terms of damage, and then any blooms he does detonate will still hurt. Oh, another issue is that Kaveh kind of wants heavily contested units on his teams to function, he wants high bloom generation, but also low enough hydro application to make use of his Dendro Infusion to Quicken/Spread. So, a strong team for him would have to be something like: Kaveh, Nahida, Raiden/Kuki, and Furina... It's just too much to expect anyone to build, he has potential, but just really needed lower ER requirements, and innate EM scaling on his Normal Attacks.
He might not be the most *efficient* character, but in looking for a way to use Kaveh, I found a fun sort of half-synergy that makes him work, at least well enough for me - Kaveh, C2 Nahida, Nilou, and Furina. The big perk on top of his bloom core damage buff, is that Furina's overflow healing passive constantly procs on Kaveh's self-heal from the crazy amount of cores I can generate with this team, effectively turning her into a team-wide heal generator. Might not be the best team ever, but definitely works pretty well ^-^
Thanks for sharing this. Looking at that lineup, though, with three S tier characters to carry him, it's pretty obvious Kaveh isn't really the star of that show.
One of the most popular reasons I heard why Kaveh hasn’t appeared in any banners was because he was pregnant since his first banner was now 9 months ago.. 😭💀
It’s actually closer to 15 months now since his banner was 3.6 back in April, 2023. Edit: Forgot that he was in the second half of the update, so actually May, 2023.
The next WNOP for Star Rail should be Yukong. She's in a similar predicament with Kaveh where she hasn't had a rerun since DHIL's release which was back in August. Harmony has become competitive with its units and Yukong has fallen off from the competition, her buffs are strong and has good payoff but it gets squandered because she is very hard to use. Not to mention that she is very dependent on Eidolons so not having a rerun almost 10 months hurts her usage even more. I have long-retired using Yukong because I acquired more Harmony units who are more efficient to use compared to her. Hopefully she finally has a rerun in 2.4 with Xianzhou characters.
she's hard to use because you have to speedtune your whole team. that much effort just to be able to use a 4* harmony doesnt seem worth it especially when there's already a lot of other good harmony units that does the same or more
the fact i got C6 kaveh in the small bit of time hes existed on actual limited banners amazes me. because how his kit is, if he was our only hydro claymore(its intresting that we still lack certain element+weapons still), he would be a better character. having him be entirely built to make dendro cores with the fact he also has the bonus scaling makes him a decent spot to be the bloom trigger. but because of him being dendro and dendro taking the more hydro aura when doing bloom makes the limited amount of actions you can do a lot less to get cores to come into existance. its even more funny that infusion him with candace, he feels like he can fit in better teams then if he wasnt.
Kaveh was also set up too by the fact that he came out about a week after HSR's release so that kinda also shot him in the foot as a lot of people were trying Hoyo's big new game. This man never stood a chance.
me watching "why no one plays kaveh" while i have him fully built and use him every spiral abyss cycle lmaooo. imo his healing from bloom cores is so broken. he negates the need for a sustain in nilou bloom and burgeon teams, which is soooo helpful.
Personally, I use him in a Nilou team with Nahida and Xingqiu, where Kaveh is the driver. I beleive his slower attack speed works in his favor, because he's less likely to overwhelm Xingqiu's hydro application that way. So more often than not, Nahida and Kaveh often alternate between creating bloom cores. It's an unfortunate side effect of the dendro core reaction limiting damage instances that makes him seem suboptimal for this role. Regardless of that fact though, he still fills that role competently, and enemies still die VERY fast. The fact that he scales with EM as his ascension stat, gains bonus EM with his ultimate, and boost dendro core damage higher makes him the driver with the highest reaction damage potential out of all the other candidates, whilst also making himself effectively unkillable while bloom cores are happening. If they ever wanted to improve him, it would be a simple matter of removing dendro core damage instance ICD, and/or Making so he claims complete ownership of any dendro cores he detonates. Either one of these will make damage output more consistent, but both combined would probably break the game.
So, in other words, even if he was as rerunned, if not more than, for example Dori, people wouldn't use him because of his main-dps kit as well as how it works. Pretty much why Kaveh's kit is the main and only thing i dislike from him. Is a shame, really. It feels like he came to this world to suffer.
He should have been released first before Nilou. like how they release the 4* version first, and then later release the upgraded 5* version. heizou -> wanderer razor -> cyno noelle -> itto barbruh -> kokomi yaoyao -> baizhu xingqiu -> yelan fischl -> yae miko (debatable) kaeya -> ayaka sucrose -> kazuha
he’d probably still would see more usage than most other ‘bad’ characters, just by nature of him being a dendro driver. why run only one hyperbloom/quickbloom team? last abyss i 36’ed with ease using plunge kaveh on one half and quickbloom alhaitham on the other.
@@Cajun_Seasoning calling his kit unseasoned just tells me you only think of numbers and nothing else, because kaveh has one of the most interesting kits in theory. the reason it falls apart is entirely because the numbers aren’t tuned well at all, but being able to control when your blooms explode to front-load damage is, objectively, interesting kit design.
I also have him C6. I was so excited to get him and had pre-farmed for him, raised him on day 1... just to have him fall flat on his face. bbg deals no damage compared to others like the video says. Biggest disappointment after Dehya.

I only have him at c2, I was wondering if he could be use in a team with Xinqiu, Beidou and fischl at c6. Beidou doesn't detonate hyperbloom and Fischl is not good at it either so the remaining blooms could be manually detonated. My Kaveh is really good too but I can't test this build since I don't have him at C6. I think it could be good at the second side of the current abyss.
@@pencilonpaper1026 Nilou team was where i first tried him, he felt so clunky. In my eyes, bountiful cores don't need help detonating as they burst way quicker than normal cores. My Nilou team deletes everything w/o him, so I really don't know where to use him. I might try the comp that @Irustua suggested next.
Really wonder how good he’d be if bloom core damage didn’t have an internal cd so him blowing up 6 at once could nuke - IT WOULD BE SO FUN TO DO THAT. Inevitably a large portion of his damage is eliminated by that ICD. I don’t know why it even exists in the first place.
The one thing that would have saved Kaveh is if rupturing cores changed their ownership and EM calculations to Kaveh’s EM and bonuses. That way instead of needing to build every character EM in bloom, Kaveh would have let you build all your characters ADC except him. Further, this would make him synergize with Baizhu, who only buffs the on-field character’s reactions.
Short answer: it’s cause NO ONE HAS HIM!!!!! Everyone is begging for rerun I will get genshin just to get him I swear 😢 Edit (halfway through the video): I find it SO funny that kavehs power creep was ALHAITHAM like the irony my god

It's quite the hilarious coincidence this video was recommended to me. I came back to Genshin after a long hiatus and started saving up my backlogged primos for Alhaitham since he wasn't around when I quit. When I pulled for Alhaitham in 4.7 I wound up getting C1 Kaveh AND Alhaitham.
I love his character design, his relatable backstory and character, his voice, his development and interactions with other characters. It is a shame they didn't put the same amount of effort in his kit. I want to play and probably built him but i really want more constellation for him. I have him at least but only at C0.
Most Kaveh mains (including myself) generally use him on a spread comp lol, you can have him land 40k spreads on skill, plus with Sac sword he can land that two times in a row with luck
Man, the reason I LOVE using Kaveh as a driver in a Nilou team is because of his survivability and convenience He literally gets HEALED by Nilou, as opposed to the rest of characters, who get nuked in Nilou teams for 3 seconds of field time. I've found the best team to be Nilou, Kaveh, Xingqiu and Baizhu (Baizhu being there to heal Nilou and Xingqiu, as well as to provide staggering resistance to Kaveh on top of Xingqiu's and Kaveh's own staggering resistance and proc the dendro artifact set effect) In this team, unless you get one-shotted, Kaveh cannot die. Literally. He can take all the damage from any mob, he can have bleeding on him, bond of life, burning status, anything that drains HP rapidly, but the bloom cores explode faster, which heal him and keep him at full health consistently. Best part about him is, since bloom cores damage depends more on Nilou's HP, the only thing you really need to build on Kaveh is his energy recharge, as to be able to build your ult for every rotation (I keep it at 170-180). His EM is not really that relevant damage wise, but it gives you healing bonus, so it's worth building a bit on it, he does great at 300-400 EM. And while yes, his normal attacks don't have amazing multipliers, because of the nature of his kit and play style (constantly losing HP and healing) he is eligible to use the marechausse artifact set, which means you can build more damage on him as a driver without needing to hyper invest on crit rate, letting you focus on EM, crit dmg and atk (nowhere near to the amount of damage Alhaitham deals on field, really, however Alhaitham kills himself the fastest in Nilou teams) or you could just use favonius on him with this set and not have to rely on ER substats as much Also, since he uses a claymore, he's awesome good at wearing down shields that ANY other Nilou electible team member would struggle to break (ie: cryo, geo shields) since hydro has no claymores and Kaveh is the only dendro claymore So all things mentioned considered, even though extremely niche, you end up with a Nilou team driver, almost completely unstaggering, borderline immortal that breaks shields with a very straightforward rotation Nilou Q (if available) > Nilou E > Baizhu E > Baizhu Q > Xingqiu Q > Xingqiu E > Kaveh Q > Normal ATK > Kaveh E (and repeat) This team has genuinely helped me 36* abyss with ease so many times because of its survivability and versatility. You can handle multiple waves and highly mobile mobs unlike Nahida and Traveler respectively. It's biggest weakness being single target and hydro-dendro resistant enemies. Edit: I might keep adding more pros to this as I remember more, don't mind me editing it 💀
I love Kaveh. He was the first claymore I didn’t hate because he wasn’t clunky to use, I love that his claymore comes out and just swings itself like he’s a wizard

but kaveh is unironically popular and well-liked enough that people WOULD use him, bad kit and everything. a lot of kaveh mains missed out on getting him, and a lot of newer players have come to like him since his first banner came out.

he probably would've been a lot better if they widened his bonuses to *any* Dendro reaction and jacked up said bonus numbers accordingly. It's a shame because his concept and physical design are AMAZING.

I wish they did something where you could pick 3 4-stars from a pool of 6 or so 4-stars on limited banners. This could help a lot with the 4-star issue that exists and would make reruns able to happen a lot faster. Similar concept with adding a 3rd 5-star banner every patch.
Even 4 star characters that are featured in the banner there is still no guarantee of getting the one you want since all 3 are featured so if you are unlucky, it is even harder to get the 4 star you want than the featured 5 star
As someone who plays Kaveh in spiral, I can say: Yeah, he good. Slap him with Nilou and he’s unkillable. Pair him with Baizhu and maybe Koko as well, and you have a truly invincible tank of a broke roommate
I have kaveh c5 fully built and he is very strong with neilou nahida and koko very strong team hope they rerun him so everyone can enjoy this team and kaveh ♥️
It was already incredibly difficult to get the rare good 4* to C6... now it's nearly impossible when they can't even get the throwaway ones on a banner.
I was lucky enough to get C5 Kaveh on his realise banner and I’ve gotten him at least twice since then. But I agree he’s not great. I built him because I like him, and he’s good for mining, to only use on Nilou teams. But even there he’s outclassed by my Dendro Traveler, and he’s not using Gilded Dreams, Kaveh is. What! Maybe he should have been a support, though I’m not sure how.
I didn’t get kaveh when he came out and after doing his hangout and looking more into him, he’s one of my favorite characters!(he’s literally me) and I’ve been saving for him and Alhaitham! I recently got Alhaitham, but I felt really disappointed that Kaveh wasn’t on that banner. I had been saving over 60 pulls to garunteed me at least a few Kavehs and Alhaitham. Hoping he shows up soon but the next phase doesn’t seem to have him 😞
Thats not really a vape team, just standard Arlecchino hypercarry. Yelan is mainly there for her damage buffs and occasional vapes, but vape is not the focal point of the team.

@@TheCrimsonWitchofFlames Archons were never really released as the 'strongest' of their element though. They're all supports not dps for one so the Navia comparison doesn't really work. Plus they're all still the best of their niche second. Venti is the god of cc, he still is provided the content itself allows for it, any abyss chamber that has groupable enemies is still demolished by him. Zhongli is still the best shielder in the game, Raiden is still the best battery in the game. They're still the best at what they are designed to do. Archons were never designed as dps in the first place.

it's not really powercreep between them as much as it is from the enemies, most of the newer enemies are too heavy to be affected by Venti's burst, but Kazuha can pull them together just fine with his skill. if it's a floor where it's all trash mobs that CAN be pulled by Venti, he's undisputedly the best

the thing is, venti's fall from grace has a lot less to do with kazuha specifically when you really think about it, because even sucrose is better than him at this point. they all perform similar things, but it's different enough that they should cover different niches. kazuha gives better buffs and is generally more preferred, yes, but venti has unmatched cc. the problem is that hyv has to always actively work around that fact, bc being able to permanently stun-lock enemies in a giant wind vortex is TOO strong. venti's cc breaks the game unfortunately, but kazuha and sucrose's weaker cc is just the right balance, and so it has lead to venti being indirectly nerfed.
i have them both and use them in different teams in abyss! venti is still great for gathering tiny mobs like specters or fungi, it's just that the game actively nerfs him by making most new enemies unable to be caught in his vortex (fontaine enemies are big offenders in this)
Venti has its own niche. He has the fast tick burst + small elemental dmg afterwards. Venti tuned to initiate swirls in various elements and reapply it just for the sake of long lasting swirls.
I think what he also forgot to mention that like unlike someone like Mika, Kaveh is VERY popular in the fandom. people freaking lOVE him. To the point that most of the twitter comments announcing banners are just asking for him back.

While Kaveh is locked in hoyo's basement and no one has him, a lot of people who did pull for him probably still play him bc they love him so much (I have him triple crowned). He is by far the best written Sumeru character, especially if you consider him and Alhaitham as a pair, and his voice acting is superb, so a lot of people grew very attached to him. It also helped that the Akademiya event had the best event story we've had in a while, all focused on Kaveh. But just like Kaveh, that event is gone, so he really is a 'you had to be there' character.

If a 5 star is eligible for a chronicle wish, they should be added to standard.

To be honest, this is still just a perspective of the user base that actually cares about endgame/optimising. The majority are casual players that play who they like. An example is my sister, whose account I go on to play/build characters I don’t have. Her only requirements are that if I build someone, it can only be characters she likes/uses. So, Kaveh is on Nilou’s team and let me tell you, the high floor of Nilou bloom is so busted for casuals that Kaveh does not feel weak, and feels quite fun to play
i know this channel focuses on endgame content, but for characters like kaveh casuals should be taken into account too i think as you say. it's fun how in genshin, even "trash" units like kaveh or razor are 100% viable for everything (even endgame if you're hardcore enough tbh)
I agree! I have Kaveh as a DPS on my Nilou bloom, does crazy damage and self-heals from the cores too! Even if it's not "optimal", he's far from unplayable (unless you don't have him since he's trapped in hoyo's basement 😅)
Casual or not you can make every character in genshin really good if you try hard enough, which the meta players and whales are more than capable of doing, so I really don't understand why people complain about a character being weaker when all you have to do is build them a little more.
I'm the type who stubbornly uses my favorite characters even if they're weak and there's one team where Kaveh is king: shatter bloom. You just build him with a ton of ER and EM and put him with some hydro and cryo characters and boom, solid team. He's one of the only characters who can consistently proc shatter, which scales on EM, because he uses a greatsword

I play him in shatter bloom all the time because I'm stubborn and build teams around my favorites lol. But building him for shatter bloom is really the best since shatter scales on EM, so you just need that and ER

@@Starxii_-ub8yt I typically use Xingqiu, Kaeya (c2 or higher), and a flex character, but I try to use a dendro for the last slot for the resonance, usually either Baizhu or Nahida. But basically any cryo and hydro characters with a lot of off field application will work, and you could probably use Layla as a flex character even though the cryo resonance isn't as great as the others

I have Kaveh - I even built him 'cause Claymores are my favourite weapon type, and I think he's fun, but kinda clunky. His range implies that he's supposed to be the one to generate Dendro cores at close range, but without his Burst, he can't do that, and his particle generation is awful. So he demands a lot of field time, but doesn't supply himself with the means to achieve anything significant.
But what really annoyed me with him is his first Ascension passive, which heals him for 300% of his EM when he gets hit by a Dendro Core. This is the only instance where his EM is taken into account across his kit - none of his other passives, none of his talents, and none of his constellations draw from his EM. And I get that a Dendro character with focus on Bloom would need a good amount of EM, but I hate that this is the only instance where his kit even acknowledges his split scaling. And even then, only his second Ascension passive even provides him with an EM buff at all.
Kaveh does have a pretty massive damage bonus to bloom dmg, the problem is that the buff only applies to blooms he created himself.
Kaveh's main issue is more of a fault of the elemental guage system. Even if you had perfect ER and EM balance, Kaveh can't generate bloom cores quickly due to Dendro very quickly overriding hydro auras on enemies. Once Dendro is the dominant aura, it becomes hard to wipe it since you need double the amount of Hydro to clear a Dendro aura. Kaveh's Dendro application is slow enough to facilitate this, but only if paired with strong applicators like Xingqiu, and you don't use his burst and skill right after each other since they have different ICDs, and you can't pair him with another Dendro character cause then it'll be too much Dendro application.
That's too many restrictions placed upon Kaveh from just the elemental guage system alone.

I'm not crazy about the meta. I pull for characters because I want them and that's all there is to it. Wriothesley was my first 5* and I love him to pieces. Heizou and Kaeya were my go-to's for DPS before him and I still go back to them sometimes. I got Ayato completely by accident and didn't bother pulling for Neuvi even on his rerun when I knew just how powerful he was by comparison. Kaveh may not be the strongest, but I resonate with him deeply as a character and he will always have a spot on my account if he ever decides to come home

I believe it important to remember that what we consider to be a player's "world" is just a bunch of entries in a database. For a player to be allowed to permanently damage another player's world in co-op means Hoyo was not sanitizing the data before committing it, which is horribly negligent for a game that had already been live for years...
Coop isn't a big focus is genshin so I think the devs didn't think that would be a problem
Thing is, It was a hack. Not a glitch. People deliberately did it JUST to try to get compensation from hoyo through illegitimate means
Despite all the rumors, no one was getting their world ruined without their concent. Like said above, the deletion required using a hack, and it required for the world owner to modify their game files as well. The "bug" was never live, and the whole debacle was created to cause mass hysteria and online clout, maybe to get free rewards from hoyo. There is a reason no one knows anyone who had stuff deleted by a random person, and that is because those people don't exist.

I love Kaveh in many ways. He's such a great driver for my Nilou team since Nahida CANNOT tank these huge loads of boosted cores but he CAN take it ALL and get out full. And I hate YaoYao's immovable creature that forces you to either place it very responsible or run around it while Kaveh just be like: "Nilou buffed? Nahida marked? Xingqiu ulted? It's a SHOW TIME!" proceeds to ult, goes in, makes sure everything's dead, remembers he doesnt get paid for that and gets some time for a quick mental breakdown before I force him to fight again.
Small correction: players from after 3.2 could have gotten Albedo in the 4.5 chronicled wish banner.

I was just thinking about how the setup of chronicle wish banner and the timing around many new 5star characters was so rough. There could have been several things you wanted from that banner, but you'd blow most all of your stockpile on it if you had one.
I think Kaveh only redeeming Quality other than his Banter with Alhaitham was that one glitch he had that allowed him to delete EVERYTHING.

8:30 just a quick sidenote, you can get 2 bloom cores to deal damage at the exact same time but that's the maximum. Only after the mentioned 0.5 seconds cooldown (starting after the first core hits) you can deal damage with bloom cores again. You wont lose any damage by detonating 2 bloom cores with his skill but you will still lose damge when detonating more than 2.

@@zeer7676 Vars made a community post when the next banners were announced showing kaveh yet again not rerunning. In it he said that a WNOP kaveh video would be released becauee of it.
The main issue with Kaveh is that he focuses on Bloom, and has direct EM scaling because of it, but wants to normal attack.
This forces him into Quickbloom Teams, pretty much always, or Nilou, as you mentioned.
But in Quickbloom teams, we struggle with the issue of: Kaveh now needs Crit Rate, Crit Damage, lots of EM, and a SHIT ton of ER, because his burst is expensive and he barely generates particles. If you can meet all those requirements within his build, then he's actually quite a strong DPS, his normal attack scalings are pretty decent with ATK, and Spread gives him a naturally high base floor in terms of damage, and then any blooms he does detonate will still hurt.
Oh, another issue is that Kaveh kind of wants heavily contested units on his teams to function, he wants high bloom generation, but also low enough hydro application to make use of his Dendro Infusion to Quicken/Spread.
So, a strong team for him would have to be something like: Kaveh, Nahida, Raiden/Kuki, and Furina...
It's just too much to expect anyone to build, he has potential, but just really needed lower ER requirements, and innate EM scaling on his Normal Attacks.
Just use him in shatter bloom and he only needs ER and EM
He might not be the most *efficient* character, but in looking for a way to use Kaveh, I found a fun sort of half-synergy that makes him work, at least well enough for me - Kaveh, C2 Nahida, Nilou, and Furina. The big perk on top of his bloom core damage buff, is that Furina's overflow healing passive constantly procs on Kaveh's self-heal from the crazy amount of cores I can generate with this team, effectively turning her into a team-wide heal generator. Might not be the best team ever, but definitely works pretty well ^-^
I now really really want to see Kaveh and Furina interact, I think it’d be really nice

One of the most popular reasons I heard why Kaveh hasn’t appeared in any banners was because he was pregnant since his first banner was now 9 months ago.. 😭💀
It’s actually closer to 15 months now since his banner was 3.6 back in April, 2023.
Edit: Forgot that he was in the second half of the update, so actually May, 2023.
The next WNOP for Star Rail should be Yukong. She's in a similar predicament with Kaveh where she hasn't had a rerun since DHIL's release which was back in August. Harmony has become competitive with its units and Yukong has fallen off from the competition, her buffs are strong and has good payoff but it gets squandered because she is very hard to use. Not to mention that she is very dependent on Eidolons so not having a rerun almost 10 months hurts her usage even more.
I have long-retired using Yukong because I acquired more Harmony units who are more efficient to use compared to her. Hopefully she finally has a rerun in 2.4 with Xianzhou characters.
Poor Yukong, at a time where there was only her, Welt and Luocha for Imaginary type characters she was in this awkward buffer and sub dps position.
she's hard to use because you have to speedtune your whole team. that much effort just to be able to use a 4* harmony doesnt seem worth it especially when there's already a lot of other good harmony units that does the same or more

the fact i got C6 kaveh in the small bit of time hes existed on actual limited banners amazes me.
because how his kit is, if he was our only hydro claymore(its intresting that we still lack certain element+weapons still), he would be a better character. having him be entirely built to make dendro cores with the fact he also has the bonus scaling makes him a decent spot to be the bloom trigger. but because of him being dendro and dendro taking the more hydro aura when doing bloom makes the limited amount of actions you can do a lot less to get cores to come into existance. its even more funny that infusion him with candace, he feels like he can fit in better teams then if he wasnt.
Kaveh was also set up too by the fact that he came out about a week after HSR's release so that kinda also shot him in the foot as a lot of people were trying Hoyo's big new game. This man never stood a chance.
me watching "why no one plays kaveh" while i have him fully built and use him every spiral abyss cycle lmaooo. imo his healing from bloom cores is so broken. he negates the need for a sustain in nilou bloom and burgeon teams, which is soooo helpful.
Personally, I use him in a Nilou team with Nahida and Xingqiu, where Kaveh is the driver. I beleive his slower attack speed works in his favor, because he's less likely to overwhelm Xingqiu's hydro application that way. So more often than not, Nahida and Kaveh often alternate between creating bloom cores.
It's an unfortunate side effect of the dendro core reaction limiting damage instances that makes him seem suboptimal for this role. Regardless of that fact though, he still fills that role competently, and enemies still die VERY fast. The fact that he scales with EM as his ascension stat, gains bonus EM with his ultimate, and boost dendro core damage higher makes him the driver with the highest reaction damage potential out of all the other candidates, whilst also making himself effectively unkillable while bloom cores are happening.
If they ever wanted to improve him, it would be a simple matter of removing dendro core damage instance ICD, and/or Making so he claims complete ownership of any dendro cores he detonates. Either one of these will make damage output more consistent, but both combined would probably break the game.
So, in other words, even if he was as rerunned, if not more than, for example Dori, people wouldn't use him because of his main-dps kit as well as how it works.
Pretty much why Kaveh's kit is the main and only thing i dislike from him.
Is a shame, really. It feels like he came to this world to suffer.
He should have been released first before Nilou.

I only have him at c2, I was wondering if he could be use in a team with Xinqiu, Beidou and fischl at c6. Beidou doesn't detonate hyperbloom and Fischl is not good at it either so the remaining blooms could be manually detonated. My Kaveh is really good too but I can't test this build since I don't have him at C6. I think it could be good at the second side of the current abyss.
@@pencilonpaper1026 Nilou team was where i first tried him, he felt so clunky. In my eyes, bountiful cores don't need help detonating as they burst way quicker than normal cores. My Nilou team deletes everything w/o him, so I really don't know where to use him. I might try the comp that @Irustua suggested next.
Really wonder how good he’d be if bloom core damage didn’t have an internal cd so him blowing up 6 at once could nuke - IT WOULD BE SO FUN TO DO THAT. Inevitably a large portion of his damage is eliminated by that ICD. I don’t know why it even exists in the first place.
The one thing that would have saved Kaveh is if rupturing cores changed their ownership and EM calculations to Kaveh’s EM and bonuses. That way instead of needing to build every character EM in bloom, Kaveh would have let you build all your characters ADC except him. Further, this would make him synergize with Baizhu, who only buffs the on-field character’s reactions.
I think they really just wanted you to onfield him instead and then that way they could "balance" him indirectly by forcing you to build ER as well.
The problem is no perfectly compatible hydro character. Xingqiu infamously steals bloom ownership just like nearly everyone else.
and also maybe his E cooldown should be Shorter

It's quite the hilarious coincidence this video was recommended to me. I came back to Genshin after a long hiatus and started saving up my backlogged primos for Alhaitham since he wasn't around when I quit. When I pulled for Alhaitham in 4.7 I wound up getting C1 Kaveh AND Alhaitham.
I love his character design, his relatable backstory and character, his voice, his development and interactions with other characters. It is a shame they didn't put the same amount of effort in his kit. I want to play and probably built him but i really want more constellation for him. I have him at least but only at C0.
Most Kaveh mains (including myself) generally use him on a spread comp lol, you can have him land 40k spreads on skill, plus with Sac sword he can land that two times in a row with luck
Man, the reason I LOVE using Kaveh as a driver in a Nilou team is because of his survivability and convenience
He literally gets HEALED by Nilou, as opposed to the rest of characters, who get nuked in Nilou teams for 3 seconds of field time.
I've found the best team to be Nilou, Kaveh, Xingqiu and Baizhu (Baizhu being there to heal Nilou and Xingqiu, as well as to provide staggering resistance to Kaveh on top of Xingqiu's and Kaveh's own staggering resistance and proc the dendro artifact set effect)
In this team, unless you get one-shotted, Kaveh cannot die. Literally. He can take all the damage from any mob, he can have bleeding on him, bond of life, burning status, anything that drains HP rapidly, but the bloom cores explode faster, which heal him and keep him at full health consistently.
Best part about him is, since bloom cores damage depends more on Nilou's HP, the only thing you really need to build on Kaveh is his energy recharge, as to be able to build your ult for every rotation (I keep it at 170-180). His EM is not really that relevant damage wise, but it gives you healing bonus, so it's worth building a bit on it, he does great at 300-400 EM.
And while yes, his normal attacks don't have amazing multipliers, because of the nature of his kit and play style (constantly losing HP and healing) he is eligible to use the marechausse artifact set, which means you can build more damage on him as a driver without needing to hyper invest on crit rate, letting you focus on EM, crit dmg and atk (nowhere near to the amount of damage Alhaitham deals on field, really, however Alhaitham kills himself the fastest in Nilou teams) or you could just use favonius on him with this set and not have to rely on ER substats as much
Also, since he uses a claymore, he's awesome good at wearing down shields that ANY other Nilou electible team member would struggle to break (ie: cryo, geo shields) since hydro has no claymores and Kaveh is the only dendro claymore
So all things mentioned considered, even though extremely niche, you end up with a Nilou team driver, almost completely unstaggering, borderline immortal that breaks shields with a very straightforward rotation
Nilou Q (if available) > Nilou E > Baizhu E > Baizhu Q > Xingqiu Q > Xingqiu E > Kaveh Q > Normal ATK > Kaveh E (and repeat)
This team has genuinely helped me 36* abyss with ease so many times because of its survivability and versatility. You can handle multiple waves and highly mobile mobs unlike Nahida and Traveler respectively. It's biggest weakness being single target and hydro-dendro resistant enemies.

but kaveh is unironically popular and well-liked enough that people WOULD use him, bad kit and everything. a lot of kaveh mains missed out on getting him, and a lot of newer players have come to like him since his first banner came out.
@@arifyi.8422 Many people want him just because they like him. You can just go fishing and still enjoy a unit without building them. Plus reading their voicelines, story and dialogues in teapot.
he probably would've been a lot better if they widened his bonuses to *any* Dendro reaction and jacked up said bonus numbers accordingly. It's a shame because his concept and physical design are AMAZING.
Also doesn't help he needs a stupid amount of ER too, so you can't even stack EM on him

I wish they did something where you could pick 3 4-stars from a pool of 6 or so 4-stars on limited banners. This could help a lot with the 4-star issue that exists and would make reruns able to happen a lot faster. Similar concept with adding a 3rd 5-star banner every patch.

Yeah, he good. Slap him with Nilou and he’s unkillable. Pair him with Baizhu and maybe Koko as well, and you have a truly invincible tank of a broke roommate

I was lucky enough to get C5 Kaveh on his realise banner and I’ve gotten him at least twice since then. But I agree he’s not great. I built him because I like him, and he’s good for mining, to only use on Nilou teams. But even there he’s outclassed by my Dendro Traveler, and he’s not using Gilded Dreams, Kaveh is. What! Maybe he should have been a support, though I’m not sure how.
I didn’t get kaveh when he came out and after doing his hangout and looking more into him, he’s one of my favorite characters!(he’s literally me) and I’ve been saving for him and Alhaitham! I recently got Alhaitham, but I felt really disappointed that Kaveh wasn’t on that banner. I had been saving over 60 pulls to garunteed me at least a few Kavehs and Alhaitham. Hoping he shows up soon but the next phase doesn’t seem to have him 😞

Thats not really a vape team, just standard Arlecchino hypercarry. Yelan is mainly there for her damage buffs and occasional vapes, but vape is not the focal point of the team.

Plus they're all still the best of their niche second. Venti is the god of cc, he still is provided the content itself allows for it, any abyss chamber that has groupable enemies is still demolished by him. Zhongli is still the best shielder in the game, Raiden is still the best battery in the game. They're still the best at what they are designed to do. Archons were never designed as dps in the first place.
