    Most of the faces I have been exposed to have a more developed right side. It would be worth studying dominant limbs/asymmetrical posture habits in relation to dominant chewing sides. I have a hypotheis that we are socially conditioned for our brains to develop their left hemispheres and thus the neurological stimulation is greater on the right hemisphere of the nervous system causing it to be overdeveloped in comparison. Some would say that is outlandish but you never know.

    Hey Ron. Long time no talk! Just like you I had AGGA a few years ago (2018) and as an adult it pushed my front teeth out of my maxillary bone to the point that was borderline dangerous for the health of them. Luckily I found a doctor that would help thanks to your recommendation and I am at the tail end of my MARPE treatment (a custom-made MSE appliance was used for my particular case). My teeth have been settling back into the bone and I'm now on tray 16 of 26 (invisalign). My appliance is still in the roof of my mouth as we move my front teeth together and tip them outward for better support within the bone. things are looking better for me than they have in a while and my doc is happy, but I'm having trouble mewing and keeping the suction with tongue on roof of mouth. I'm waking up breathing through my mouth for the first time in a while and Im wondering if that's the result of a high vault and teeth tipping in, causing swelling on roof of mouth near front incisors. My doc doesn't seem concerned, but I am and i'm worried I won't be able to mew properly. Any experience?

    The problem that I see with this guys maxilla is similar to mine, yet rarely discussed -- his right side of maxilla is *more forward* than the left - you can see it from the maxilla photos and the position of his canines. That is why his right cheek is more outwards, his right ear sticks out more and his nose is tilted to the left. //
    People tend to forget that when discussing asymmetries in the face there are 3 dimensions. They would usually say that one side is either higher/lower or more "puffy" vs. slim. They forget the third dimension: one side of the face can be more forward than the other and that causes asymmetry. Lets also not forget that we can layer asymmetries on top of each other: bones, muscles, and skin -- you can find some discrepancies in all these 3D structures.

    • @hyzia18
      @hyzia18 9 місяців тому

      @@doronshalom4775 I think there might be different causes to this - imbalances in body (pelvis etc.), preferential chewing (one side is more dominant), possibly injuries while young and developing (when the adult teeth come in) and others. I do not have a cross bite but my left top wisdom tooth is in line with other teeth while the wisdom on the right side is buccally tipped.

    • @hyzia18
      @hyzia18 9 місяців тому

      @@user-hi7ic3zy6k The problem is -- once you want to start mewing and you start from uneven position in maxilla (one side has more space than the other) your tongue might naturally want to fill in the bigger space, expanding it even more; it becomes the vicious circle. I think it would be good to identify the reason for that first - imbalances in body (muscules), same amount of teeth on both sides and they are in-line, sleeping or long, prolonged pressure on one side etc. Just being aware that your tongue rests better on one side is definitely a good start. But I am not a doctor and this is not a medical advise :) Best of luck to you

      because only 1 person in the world does it, and he only first developed the method in 2017. From what I understand it is a more invasive procedure. It was made by Kasey Li in Palo Alto California. And it seems to do a lot of cuts and scoring of bone that would require a surgeon(which Dr.Li is). So it wouldn't be something you could do like a orthodontist could by simply using MSE with a Piezo knife cut. I also have no idea if EASE actually is any better or worse for asymetry. And I don't know that it is or is not advisable to try to move the maxilla forward or not. And So while I am considering it, my concern is that it would only expand side ways, when my issue is more of a front to back collapse and a deviated septum. We are all different of course. It could be a great solution for some people.
