hello hello, unemployed recently graduated florist/gardener here trying to put my degree into use lol. when taking cuttings from plants to propagate, i recommend using a sharp knife instead of scissors as the scissor blades are more dull and can crush the tiny vessels that transport water. a pothos is a rather forgiving plant so it probably will grow roots even if you did use scissors. but for future reference, a knife (like a sharp craft knife) is better. it's also good to cut at an angle (this is especially important for flower stems but good for plant propagation too), as it leaves more surface area exposed and more water can be absorbed. xx
@@zoeriggs5348 hehe, it'll probably be fine anyway, and you could always cut it with scissors first and then make a new surface with a knife afterwards. if the cutting looks droopy or isn't showing any signs of growing roots, it's a good idea to cut a new surface with a knife to make sure water can be properly absorbed :) the softer the stem of the plant, the easier the tiny vessels get crushed by scissor blades.
Ugh, seriously, from the way you film your videos, over the amazing style of your drawings, to the beautiful decor - everything in this video was so asthetic and satisfying. I really love your content so much, I don't know any other channel like yours. Never stop!
I love the space Minnie, major difference. There is such an enormous difference between having an inviting and inspiring space and one that isn’t. Sometimes my room can get messy and it can become a bit of a dumping ground too, I’m always happy when everything is tidy and inviting. It makes you want to spend time in there creating.
Watching your videos always help me so much, It's like they remove my anxiety and stress and I feel like I can do it, I can organize my life step by step and breathe, so thank you so much!!
I dont know how many people say this, but i cant help but smile when i see your partner on. He's seems really supportive. its nice to see. Now back to my art lessons as ive been inspired. :)
Watching you paint is such a great source of peace and joy for me. I'm not sure I can even articulate why, but it's astonishingly inspiring. Your style is aspirational, and watching you develop a piece is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us
This was SUCH A DELIGHT to watch!!! From being so inspired and in love with the paintings you made to enjoying watching everything come together in a cozy, vintage vibe was very lovely. Thank you for this video!
Since we have similar asthetic I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this. Please tell me I can get a print of that Pomegranate? It is divine! I do wish you used recycled glass though. All my cuttings are in various recycled glasses, pretty juice glass, etc. I've even used my own shot glasses, lol. Enjoy your new space!! 💜
I'm just constantly inspired by how you film and edit your videos! I'm hoping one day I'll be able to create such beautifully crafted videos like this too 😊
It is SO inspiring watching you work, both on art and general problem-solving. You really made this space into something special. I'm sure you'll make some stellar art there moving forward!
I also couldn’t be happier 🥺💛🧡 with how it turned out. Really happy with the final result. It feels much warmer and cozier on top of that it feels sooooo much you ☺️. I will never get tired of listening to you☺️💛🧡.
Minnie, we ALWAYS want to see whatever you will give us! Your videos are so relaxing for me and always jumpstart my creativity! You are fabulous, never stop being you!
You have created a nice work area for yourself. Very inspiring. I LOVE the wall with all the prints held in place with washi. Your POM painting is absolutely Wonderful.
I live in a country where space is limited and apartments are tiny! I long for a day where I can have a dedicated spacious room entirely for creating art! But for now, I’ve gotta make do with my work area (an L-shaped table) right next to my bed. After watching your art studio makeover, it has inspired me to introduce more prints and textures to the dull white walls.
I just looove listening your videos when i'm painting. Your voice is so calming and it's almost like i have company while working. Hopefully you will make more 1 hour videos since those are so amazing. Xoxo
Love the fact that you kept your first painting in the video and showed how you decided to start over because you weren’t feeling it. Thank you for sharing your process with us :)
I liked how purposefully you set out to collect various elements and decorate your space (and the end result was lovely!!). My art room/office is a dumping ground for stuff I don't know what to do with, boxes, papers, random items. After watching this, I'm inspired to actually sit down and make a plan for it. Thank you!
Your studio is so beautiful. I would say you achieved the apothecary vibe you were hoping for! The dried flowers are such a nice touch. I have jars of dried flowers (from various events over the last few years) sitting around my studio.
Thank you for sharing the parts where you have fun! It's inspiring to see other artists make their space third own. I'm realizing my incredible lack of house plants.....
The finished room looks amazing! It must spark so much joy and creativity now :) It was so much fun watching you transform it from start to finish and seeing your vision come to life. I really enjoyed seeing your paintings as well -- absolutely adore them!
for a cheaper and a little bit more sustainable option i prefer using old pasta sauce or even candle jars (yankee candles have really pretty jars) if you soak them in boiling water the label will come of, if theres some glue residue then scrubbing it off with a sponge will usually do the trick. If they were food jars putting them in the dishwasher is really helpful it removes any smells
Hi Minnie! I stumbled upon this video randomly after getting back from the dentist and i was in pain but your soothing way of talking, videography and overall personality really cheered me up! I really love the pomogranete poster you did. Subscribed! ♥️
Looks so lovely and cozy, I just decorated my little art space corner in the living room. It's the only part of the house that is fully decorated and it makes a huge difference with it being inspiring and actually wanting to be in the space. It came out lovely!
🌻Everything turned out so calming and peaceful. I love how your style of painting feels so solid and fresh. Also you always pick the best music. Looking forward to more videos in this space. 💛💛🌻🌻
I was blown away on how you arranged the shelves on the wall, along with the books and art prints. It has the perfect balance of composition and color! And your two botanical paintings I felt were really telling of your artistry! Like you have gotten so good! And your colors have gotten so advanced! Lovely work Minnie!
I've been following you for a long time and it's so cool to see all your different work spaces - you've always had such an eye for creating a beautiful space and this one is no different! :)
Turned out beautifully!! Its so important to have your studio/work space looking welcoming, inspiring and somewhere you want to be. It took a long time to get my art room sorted but got there eventually and I truly love being in this room even more than before. Luckily it always had a great vibes in the room, but once the paper went up on one wall, my vintage nik naks went on the shelves and I have everything in reach it made such a difference. I'm glad you're happy with what you achieved. I really loved the pomegranate painting you made....I'd have that on my walls any day Minnie :)
Such a lovely video to watch on a damp and dreary winter afternoon! I really need to refurbish my home office, and this has given me a few ideas - thank you!
This was such good timing! I'm moving into a rental house this weekend, and I'll have my own studio space for the first time! Can't wait to decorate! Mine also has a high window, so I want to make sure it doesn't feel too dark or oppressive. The prints you chose and especially the shelves and plants really brighten everything up! So inspiring as always! (Also that pomegranate painting: GORGEOUS!!)
Loved seeing you made this space into a gorgeous work space. I redid my studio this year and it was so overwhelming but sooooo worth it! I have a video of it if you're interested. And I'm totally getting some of those magnetic poster hanging things because I've been creating a lot of work on paper this year. I did a wall of thin metal and use magnets on it to change out my paintings - I use the wall as a reference to paint from - it's right in front of my easel.
I love you videos. Really calm, nice soothing music and really beautiful art. So many videos have irritating music on them but yours are so well thought out and lovely to watch. Thank you. Also I love the pomegranate poster so, so much.
Yay I'm so glad you like the print! I'm so honored knowing it'll be in your art studio for a little bit :D I'm going to be renovating my studio next year, I can't wait. I very much relate to the "I want it all" face hahaha. It turned out so amazing, love the vibe you have now.
Ahhh it looks absolutely incredible and so cozy! I so badly want a print of that vine piece you did 😍😍😍 thank you for sharing Minni! I always love your vibe and watching your videos on my bike trainer is my favorite part of the day to destress 💚🌿
Ahh, so jealous. The pandemic has made it really hard to decor our apartment, so definitely taking notes on what you did. Also on the propagation, you're doing great! Just got to make sure you have a node (which are the little bumps along the stem of a plant where roots or leaves can grow, and from the footage it looks like you did for your pothos) in water with light. Change the water every 1-2 weeks and once you see roots (which should be easy with that gorgeous glass vase), plant it in soil. Be sure to keep the soil moist (but not wet) for the first week or two after putting in soil so that the propagated plant can adjust from water to soil. Afterwards, it should be able to adjust to a somewhat regular watering regiment. The only other additional thing you can do is dip the stem in a little root hormone powder before putting it in water, but it's absolutely not necessary, especially for pothos and philos that are pretty ready to grow roots. Hope the propagation goes well and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that pomegranate scroll painting.
Oh it was so delightful to watch you paint the pomegranate, we have a plant in our backyard. And it was so interesting watching how you use the colours. So beautiful.
great video Minnie! these kind of videos are definitely my fav :) the way you record and put together your videos is always so soothing. feels a lot like hanging out with a friend
Looking up and seeing all that washi tape might drive me nuts but I love how you collected all the prints around a similar color palette! So glad you love your space Minnie!
I loved this video so much. Inspired me and made me laugh with your captionings. Your paintings turned out beautifully. I would love to see more close ups of those. 😍
I love the room, and good luck to your new baby pothos! Be sure to give it plenty of water and keep the humidity high when it gets planted in dirt, because it's used to living only in water! ;)
Amazing how you didn't give up on yourself with your leafy painting! I think what a lot of us artists struggle with is coming back the next day and realizing we might need to make bigger changes than anticipated and even may come down to starting over! I think it's super healthy for an artist to see their work from a new angle and with fresh eyes. Now your pieces turned out even more beautiful than you thought and maybe you learned a few things as well :) I LOVE your work!! So inspiring!
So far I’ve only got as far as your Pinterest search for inspiration because I immediately recognized one of the studios! It’s a friend of mine’s that she built herself and it is the most gorgeous studio I’ve ever seen!!!

Struggling plant mom here. Thank you for that info!
thank you dear friend! I just used scissors to propagate my pothos and I KNEW something felt off about that...
