To say that bumble wants to help people build real relationships, would be like Marlboro saying they want their customers to live long happy lives. Let's not kid ourselves, bumble is a publicly traded company that is created to make profits.
It can be both. And it is.
@@ArlansYourFirstMillion cool story bro.
I'm also not sure where Bumble sits on the good-bad spectrum - but I disagree that every public company making profits is bad. It's the foundation of how our society works and we enjoy many things in life because of it. Is it perfect? -> absolutely not. But I'm quite happy I can pay a farmer to grow my food rather than grow it myself (whether I pay enough is another discussion).
yes. you can pay a farmer to grow your food with all the pesticide & gmo fixins courtesy of monsanto. you can grow it yourself nutrient rich and possibly reduce your medical bills. @@piripiri995
Better than the Match monopoly at least
Women have to message first.
Women: "Hey"
Overall an ok interview, but misses a couple major questions you would expect out of Bloomberg. With the stock down almost 80% since IPO, and Wolfe Herd herself selling millions of shares earlier this year, how does she and her team account for it all, and what are they doing about it? How do they even think about their shareholders?
Hard-hitting questions are not allowed 😂
Emily is smart enough to keep the person interviewed comfortable, and Herd would have just said she couldn't comment and would be on her toes the rest of the interview. I'd like to know that as well, but it is not coming from the ceo
@@dhdyrjfmenrydka The CEO's job is not always supposed to be comfortable. And if she dodged the question, it would reveal a lot about how serious she's thinking about it. Becky Quick asks these straight-forward questions all the time ua-cam.com/video/Pqc56crs56s/v-deo.html
@@dhdyrjfmenrydka it it's not coming form the CEO where else would it come from. no one is more qualified to speak on that topic
She is experienced speaker, can’t tell how much she is hiding, but sure is - she is not authentic 100%
Well I guess Bumble is more of a problem than a solution. I feel since there are more options than before for people to date, they are always looking for a "better match". Ultimately leading to more breakups and mistrust among people. None of my friends who are married have found a soulmate on such apps. Instead finding matches through mutual friends seem to work better.
These are just for hookups
Bumble or any dating app for that matter, is not interested in people finding love. They want you swiping on those apps as much as possible so they can make that $
Bumble is a prime example to show how women have no ability to converse
If a man ever starts with "hi" no response
If a woman starts with "hi" it's a default expectation to get something intriguing in the reply
Otherwise it's a red flag, too weird, no chemistry and list goes on
I respond to hi
My favorite part of Bumble was that it highlighted how unbearably awful women are at initiating an interesting conversation. Like at most one in ten matches would say anything beyond "Heyyy", with an emoji or some generic thing attached. It's literally the exact same thing that dudes do, lol.
true but it's because they don't need to make any effort.
I wish the journalist would have mentioned it. The CEO talks about empowering women to make the first move and then all they write is "hi".
???
I sent some thoughtful first openings on Bumble but got no reply, so it got reduced to hey as I don't wanna waste my time in case I don't get a reply.
Lol that’s exactly what I say haha
Bumble trying to help relationships is like Facebook (meta) trying to connect people..,. cute story, but really just f-ing up billions of people.
When the term business is associated with love then the very sanctity of love is lost in the oblivion.Or to rephrase it 'lost in the bubble of bumble' 😂😂
This!
Kind is not nice. Kind is honesty. Kind is authentic.
I concur! That break-down caught my attention too.
Absolutely
"Nice is fake "100%
Yes. This lady is not kind
Ghosting - That's what HR do to job applicants
😂
if you read Nathaniel Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter, you will realize Bumble's CEO is the protagonist of that book, but now, she lives in a time where she gets to create and run an app.
lol "no hate, no abuse, no service" xD I know she means the opposite, but that cracked me up
12:57 Wow, never thought about that. They are almost certainly purposefully slightly mismatching people to keep them baited to the app -- using casino style psychological tricks. Horrible!!
Women leaders are awesome n
Empowering and inspiring as they support Everyone
I’ll bet the CEO of tinder knows what rizz is 😆
I got a couple matches, but none of the women I matched with initiated conversations with me. Instead of Bumble they should call it Tumbleweeds
They're just on there for attention
This is the woman who destroyed modern relationships
Thanks so much. Very helpful. ❤
Truth: bumble is a total moneygrab. Their algorithm will DESTROY YOU unless you're already super hot or you pay up.
So... 🚀🚀🚀?
*if you are a man.
Another bot-ridden, "pay to play", Tinder clone garbage singles app
I hate when people say CEO when they mean a founder
what's the company doing to exclude fake AI-generated profiles??
Insightful video! Just wondering... Whats the name of the Netflix show at 17:28??
Emily is one of my favorite journalists, great interview! Thanks for the video!
For evolutionary reasons, women rarely if ever make the first move in a relationship.
I got a couple likes, and they never messaged first, or they'd just put "Hey". LOL. This is a trash app and the CEO is a misandrist.
NOT IMPRESSED. This woman worked for Tinder, dated one of the execs, then sued the company and received a 7 figure settlement (claiming seggsual harassment after the exec called her a promiscuous woman, but in a not so nice term) which bankrolled her Bumble app which is a direct competitor of Tinder. She's not even a programmer, but was able to hire them to build her app through her lawsuit settlement funds and compete against her former employer, then became a billionaire. IF YOU OWN A BUSINESS IN THE US, be very cautious when hiring women as they can claim all kinds of BS since they need to be handled with kiddie gloves.
Oh wow, she really did all this?
@@naraendrareddy273 yeah, it easy to look up the story
@@naraendrareddy273 yes, it's a well-known story
should've asked why have an app that is more geared towards helping women in online dating when in reality they already a huge advantage in online dating (the average woman gets many more matches than the average man for starters). it's men that actually need help in dating apps.
Agreed but at the same time girls want a "safe" environment otherwise they won't stay.
Where are they in Santa Barbara? She was raised in Mormon country Utah.
Multi billion dollar worth of men's insecurities
I am amused by Emily's guts and smirky delivery when she says "hot or not" "facemash, just those kind of things!" I hope she's not so ignorant to not know that majority of the world she lived in was built by men!
Bumble's purpose is to get rich ripping off desperate men
rizz is the dumbest word.
that's like saying "thuzz" is short for enthusiastic.
don't make fun of what u don't understand
you don't even understand it.
True
lol. Bumble helping people get together.
Wow it was an authentic and cheerful interview. I loved it.
BFF won't allow opposite sex matching.
Nice video and Bumble is much better than Tinder, but I don't like the way she treat Men, why women are more important than men? Imagine someone ourdays creating and app and saying men are more important loud, what will happen to him? We both need to evolve to a more equal world, even take a look at the earnings of Bumble, how much % come by men vs women? she should treat us with more respect but I can understand that she thinks this way because of her personal experiences (Tinder etc), but anyway prefer more a equal thing, but is just my opinion, great app as I said!
so when is the wedding with page??
btw, what was that reference about woman ceo? is that about Elisabeth Holmes? i won't cry for her.
Where?
She is the female version of Adam Newman.
At this rate, by 2025, Emily Chang will be writing child book about unicorn, fairy and bear eating the honey from the bees.
Aka the economy of simping

How is situationship different than FWB?
She robbed the bank and was basically given the company.
Good interview.
How are you increasing revenue and shareholder value?! I hope she didn’t mean anything she said.
A community for friends already exist - it is called Meetup.
Didn’t Tinder Creator create Bumble for her? She didn’t create much
I would short this stock. They could be offering a far better product and will be beaten by competitors.
There is no benefit for men to get married these days.
so dont no one cares
U dont marry for Benefits!

She’s incredibly depressive. Bumble sounds like a joyless service to use.
Terrific interview, thank you!
Downloaded Bumble.. basically another tinder. Sigh..
Selling love :D :D :D
Who’s propping this lady up? there has to be a brains behind the operation. She can’t even win over the “UA-cam comment section” over 20 whole minutes
The comments under this video compared to the one about the CEO of AirBnB is proving a lot of what Emily said as right.
ABB is scamming people in multiple ways but one but the replies are mostly focused on how nice he is in the interview while there’s negative remarks about women and Emily in this one.
Typical and hypocritical.
Big fan of whitney tried to reach out to her with some idea but unfortunately couldn't reach out. Hope and wish in future I will get a chance to interact with Whitney.
She fumbled Bumble.
women are expensive
and over-priced.
Overpriced is more accurate
0:27 is where the sin was committed.
You can't have a relationship platform and not have a clue of the most used word this year for relationship prowess
She said Rizz is shorthand for Charisma 😂😂😂.
What is it for? I really don't know but "charisma" didn't convience me 😂
Modern relationships are not working. The chatbots talk at 16:52 says everything about our trajectory. The mainstream is just terrible.
I can’t believe yall are buying this stuff.
She sounds pretty well spoken; I respect her
Her home is so ai generated
Whitney seems very fake and it is hard to believe even one word that she says. She does not seem to believe even her own words
another giant ad
She’s very out of touch..lol nothing against her but her culture is not in tune what’s happening on the ground

Everything in this video looks so west-worldish
she is so fake
