Seriously though, none of this testimony should be allowed in a trial. Apart from the fact that rich people, and only rich people, can afford "expert witnesses" (witnesses for hire), the psychological profile of a defendant is extremely subjective, supported by the fact that no two psychologists ever agree on a diagnosis.
Any rapacious person with a degree can come in and say "This guy's profile suggests that he's prone to abusing people" and we're all meant to take them seriously. And if this can be done to a wealthy, popular celebrity, imagine the impact on a defendant that has no ability to purchase a witness to counter the testimony.
Psychological profiles _can_ be helpful during an investigation (though usually even then they aren't) but they definitely *do not belong in a trial.* They are prejudicial in the extreme and make a mockery of the notion of impartial justice.

The astonishing part is, he evaluated him based on his movie roles (not Willy Wonka for some reason) and some on-screen interactions.

Agreed, as he didn't diagnose. I think it's a little telling that depp didn't submit to testing. I know he didn't have to but it would have been fairer. I think it's telling Depp wouldn't. Depp has been loosing th plot for some time now. I agree the dr. Wasn't breaking any rules else iwould be true all testimony would be thrown out of court. The op ed isn't about depp either it's about what heard went through in hollywood after the divorce. It's also odd to me that he raised a defamation case yet used Waldman to smear heard defaming her. Depp did in all honestcome qcross to me as quite childish and with narcissistic traits before the dr even said anything. The dr came across bad but I think that's because he was frustrated by the court and lawyers. Tbh I don't know how with all these stupid questions fired at them for such long periods that these ppl don't loose the plot and take a swing at the lawyers but YOU are right he should have said that at the beginning. I'm also not convinced by Dr curry diagnosis.... I feel she was bias and scary and would diagnose anyone with anything to fit what she required and in this case bringing a lot of bad press to those with bpd

Dr. Spiegel is adamant that he is unable to diagnose anyone he hasn't interviewed. A psychologist/psychiatrist uses the DSM to qualify any diagnosis. Dr. Grande stated that the method of characterizing by the manual is antiquated. Revisions may be underway to diagnose on a spectrum. Narcissist traits can be found in almost everyone. If you have a favorite sports team you support, you may think your team is superior to any rival they play. That attitude is likely a narcissistic TRAIT.

As a medical professional who does expert testimony, I must admit to being completely appalled at this witness. I was frankly astonished at how unprofessional and frankly unlearned he was. He misrepresented medications and what they were used for. He misrepresented records that he reviewed. It was frankly terrible to watch and in my opinion, he was unethical. He did make a diagnosis. He kept referring to Mr. Depp as a Narcissist as well as substance abuse disorder. Both are diagnosis. Whether you are a member of the APA or not, it is frankly unethical as an expert witness to diagnose from anything other than a direct examination of the person.

Yeah I think Depp and Heard's relationship was extremely toxic, although I'm leaning more towards JDs actions as reactionary to AHs actions. She brought out the worst in him... But I , in no way, think that he ever hit Amber. Ive been hit in the face many times by my ex husband and know that she would look horrible after just one punch. It's amazing what one punch from a man can do to a woman's face. And if she had ever really been hit, she would know that. She wouldn't be trying to pawn off these pictures of her "injuries" as results of such horrible "beatings" .... She would have known that way more damage would be caused. She doesn't know that. That tells me , she's never been hit by a man in the face. Not even once.
It's hard to know if JD is just as toxic in relationships. She seemed to nag and start arguments all the time. He seems to run away at the first sign of trouble. I fought back and called my ex names when he started his shit... But I never hit him first or started to be physical with him. And there are more than just marks on your face , there are scratch marks on the aggressor , there are tiny fingertip circle bruises or scratches on the neck or arms, and someone that has real pale skin like AH, those bruises look really dark and ugly and take awhile to heal. There's so many ways to dispute her story. JD has been consistent, he admits to things he has done but never to hitting her. She won't admit to much wrongdoing at all. She has a very bully, aggressive type personality......and it seems really hard for her to keep that under wraps for the trial.
I believe she did write that op-ed with malice and meant for it to damage Johnny Depp's reputation and career. And I don't think the Waldman statements are what's responsible for AHs so called defamation. She brought all the negative publicity onto herself .

The man cannot admit he's wrong. It's so impossible for him to admit, that he spends nearly his entire cross examination testimony just hopelessly trying to twist everything and do the most unbelievable mental gymnastics that are only outmatched by his client in the defendants seat lol and when he was being questioned by his own counsel, he also shows his narcissism by going on and on forever on never-ending tangents for no apparent reason other than the fact he likes hearing himself speak, and thinks the jury came there purely to be his very own captive audience.

I'm not saying this is the case, but we have to remember that for the narcissist, how they present themselves is very important to them and stems from what they can gain by doing something. Famous actor that doesn't watch his own movies is more likeable than the one who has them on the loop, so you can see what could be tempting in doing that. That being said, I refuse to take sides, I'm only fascinated by this trial as it's a mixture of psychology assessments, contradicting stories and making certain impressions on people and that's all using TV, so I think it's very difficult and potentially harming to the true victim when people insist it's a clear cut without seeing ALL the evidence - I don't want to be one of the people who belittle the victim for being the perpetrator and then years after that we'll find out things that did not come up on the trail and the perpetrator turns out to be the victim. So I'm not taking those chances, hopefully the trial will be fair and will put an end fo this show. I also think there are some dark times for borderline people out there, since Dr Curry's diagnosis woke up many buried resentments in people who had explosive relationships with BPD partners. We already make demons out of people with this diagnosis, this will make it only worse, because even clinicians don't often understand this diagnosis.

JD never claimed any kind of PTSD or anything of that sort so mental health claims were not part of his case so a professional evaluation was not required. This may have turned out to be grave miscalculation for AH. I wouldn't say that about the computer expert. His argument was flawed and he got pulled apart under cross examination, but he was legitimately very, very smart and extraordinarily qualified in some other areas of computing. He was able to concede points where he was wrong, had a sense of humor and didn't lie through his teeth to the end like the others. It was his first time providing expert testimony. He appeared a bit naive, got annihilated and allowed the turd hashtag to come in, which was golden. However, he was able to smile at the end when he basically got checkmated. I just don't think he was the same kind of cynical gun for hire like the others. Anyway, I agree with you overall but this one witness was still pretty cool in my book. The doctor spoke to me and I said I was concerned about my partner. The doctor dismissed my concerns. He said my partner was oriented to person, place and time. He could subtract 9 serially from 100. So I said of course he can. He's an accountant and does all the sums in his head - no calculator. He could subtract 9 serially from 100 in his sleep. It was only later in the day when my partner began to hallucinate numbers dancing around on the hospital curtains and adopting sinister configurations and believed the TV on the ward showed footage that supposedly proved he had been killed by the nurses and brought back to life for their own dark purposes. Well then everyone finally paid attention. He literally hovered between life and death (kidney failure, septic arthritis) for several days but eventually recovered. I stayed with him at the hospital. I was supposed to be in London on the day of the London bombings attending a conference but I didn't go.

They attach labels to everyone and anyone; except of course president Biden coz they don't want to be the one to say that the emperor has no clothes. Even in my youth early 2000's, 3/4th of my entire class (and school) had a label like dyslexia or dyscalculia or whatever and you don't even want to know what they do these days with labeling little kids all kinds of genders and stuffing them full of irreversible and experimental medicine to mess with their puberty. Something tells me that's not gonna have a happy ending for the profession either, but it's not that the profession is already notorious from last century and the 'institutionalization' practices... so they are no strangers as being torturers.

Most of Amber's witnesses have a few things common: they contradict each other's testimonies, they never admit to their mistakes, and if they have to, they become very combative. I get that Johnny's can be combative, too, but they're were not as aggressive as her team and witnesses.
Some of the lawtube people think Amber's team is trying to repair Dr. Hughes testimony but I HIGHLY doubt this did anything for Amber except waste their precious time. Dennison's strategy to rattle the witness clearly worked with this one.

I thought ‘Dr. Sméagol’ actually displayed narcissistic traits by personally having them. I noticed how combative he was with Johnnys side and unwilling to directly answer their questions. He really sounded as if he liked hearing his own voice and he didn’t know how to answer a question directly and efficiently. Conversely, on redirect, he suddenly knew how to answer Amber’s lawyers questions directly and efficiently instead of defend himself. Of course he still took liberties in carrying on with answers that supported what his paying side wanted him to say. Overall, if anyone was suspicious that he was paid for a tainted opinion, he sure confirmed it for people by overreacting with his ‘professional’ opinion, and making personal comments and judgements such as calling Johnny an “idiot”. To be clear I don’t like Amber and the lengths she’s continuing her facade and added fake allegations. Their behaviors in their relationship were toxic and emotionally abusive enough in their own without adding lies. If Johnny’s team had a therapist come on and act the same way towards her, I’d have the same comments. Inappropriate, misleading, intentionally disrupting a narrative in select areas, while exhibiting narcissistic traits…pretty arrogant. I think we’ve all interacted with highly insecure professors in academia who desire to hold onto the power of being in front of a room ‘molding’ young minds. It can be intoxicating going from being a picked on and unpopular student and suddenly being called doctor with 60 minds at a time having to pay attention to you in front of the room while delivering standard curriculum of psychology 101. And he showed signs he might not be reasonable to be trusted with that responsibility. Unfortunately, he’ll make more money moving forward from the rub of this very public case, despite his behaviors and choices. Hopefully the jury is aware enough to smell these things out. Hopefully Johnny and Amber both get the help they need for their own health, and avoid leaving in on another toxic relationship.

I’m a DV survivor and her claims of abuse makes my skin crawl. And I’m not usually like this? My whole body rejected her and made me feel sick!
    1. My husband doesn’t wear rings 💍 just bare knuckles. Which left a tiny white scare on my right side of my nose 👃 along with small broken blood vessel’s 🩸 that surrounds the scar from the impact of his punch 🤛 that broke my nose.
Also no amount of make/up covers the scar or broken blood vessels on my nose. They always come through no matter how much concealer or color corrector I apply.
So I know shes lying there!
The pic of me on here is what my face looked like with out a stitch of make up on. Before my husband completely scared up my face now. Thats why I keep this pic.
It’s what I used to look like. 😒
    2. When I was dragged down our driveway by my hair… a chunk of my hair came out. Trust me, it didn’t look like Ambers hair pulling pic at all.
The chunk that came out of my head still had tiny pieces of my scalp still attached to the root. With tiny specks of blood.🩸
Surprisingly not a lot of blood.
You could also see the root bulb and tiny hair follicles still attached to the strands of hair. Pieces of my hair with tiny specks of blood splatter was stuck into my husband’s scratchy beard hairs. I’ll never forget that because I thought he took my whole scalp off. But it was just a chunk. Another point to debunk Ambers claims of abuse is my hair no longer grows from the spot on top of my head anymore. The patch of skin is pale white and a thicker texture skin then the rest of my skin on my scalp.
Ambers hair pulling pic has BLUNT edges! No roots no follicles attached to any strands of hair!!!
Meaning it was cut with scissors! ✂️
Please believe me that in my heart of hearts I of all people know she’s is lying!
    3. I would AVOID arguing with my husband at all cost!! Not like Amber! We’ve all heard her be nasty yelling at Johnny. Abused women don’t normally do this.
I wouldn’t even make EYE CONTACT 👀 with my husband if things got heated! I would avoid looking into his eyes to not escalate the violence. Because something as simple as not taking out the trash could end up in a knock out fight! So I would keep the peace and keep my head down as much as possible.
Amber is not ABUSED she is a bully and a Lier!
My day on the stand I didn’t cry 😢 I didn’t even look up at my lawyer when they asked to explain what happened. My whole body was shaking but I didn’t cry. I went in the bathroom and cried until the court house closed because I was so scared I’d see my husband in the parking lot.

The vital question left, that we do not know the answer to, was did they hire an expert in jury selection to assist the voir dire process? Its looking like the quality of jury selection is going to make the final call here because Depp is looking a lot better, and Heard a lot worse, than we may have expected before this began.

This expert was combative and argumentative while looking like he had no familiarity with a hair brush. Jurors want to be respected and not yelled at by an elderly man who was impatient with anyone who disagreed with him.

He had an attitude like questioning his off analysis based on commercials and movie clips, not even ever having talked to the person, was somehow questioning expert witnesses in general. Johnny’s expert witness actually talked to and evaluated Amber personally.. She was the one who made her mental trauma from the relationship an issue to be analyzed though. So this guy analyzed commercials and used Amber’s words to somehow analyze Johnny and assign the thorough analysis of Amber to Johnny instead? The weirdest thing is nothing he said applied to Johnny more than it did to Amber, except for the fact that she smashed his fingertip off to the bone and admitted how she “lost it” too.

Memory: JD is diagnosed with ADHD. A primary issue is a deficit with working memory. The ability to hold in memory and manipulate the information- spelling, maths, phone numbers, short phrases. Dr Spegiel ignored this diagnosis in relation to JD’s inability to remember 3 words. He said he only remembered 1 word. This seems consistent with JDs ADHD diagnosis. It’s a shame the attorneys didn’t pick up on this rather than D&A abuse. JD has a valid reason for forgetting the 3 words.

In regards to anything written if there was a written component, Johnny is blind in his left eye and nearsighted in the other.
When he acts without his glasses on, he can only see a few inches in from of him.
      He has born with this.
Also I agree that this does seem consistent with ADHD. I have ADHD as well.

People with ADHD are also at far higher risk for substance abuse issues. It feels really wrong to be picking apart his mental state without actually taking a look at the comorbidities. But then again, that would mean the people in this trial would have to treat each other with empathy.

I saw his testimony and my favorite part was when he was asked a question and turned to the judge and said do I have to answer that. There were a few times where he talked about something relating to Johnny and when it was brought to his attention that he was wrong he said well that's what they told me. What a mess. I think he was meant to clean up Dr. Hughs mess, but I dunno how good of a job he did.

Yes, when he said Johhny would black out and vomit all over himself. "It's in that picture," he said. On cross they showed him the picture of Johnny with the ice cream all over him, and he said that was the vomit picture. The lawyer said, "No, that's actually ice cream, not vomit." The doctor barked, "Well, that's what they told me! Vomit!" I laughed! 🤮 🤣🤣🤣
