New Rule: If you're going to convince Biden he's unfit to run, you have to be able to name someone better. Incumbency is historically a leg up in presidential elections and giving that up for a dark horse candidate means you need to really believe they're going to make up that lost advantage.
Whoever that candidate is, clock's ticking and I don't see a surprise Lincoln on the horizon for the Democrats.

Key point in judging the success of democratic politicians (or any leader or manager for that matter) is their ability to train and prepare their younger successors. To hand over their knowledge to younger generation so that it can take over smoothly. Most of today's old politicians and parties fail in this test, because they focus on keeping themselves in power, not about the long-term future.

The military tried to tell him the way it should be handled, but Joe wanted to get out quickly to claim a victory on how he ended the war and brought the troops home. He could have had an orderly withdrawal removed our equipment or destroyed it. Can't blame that one on Trump. Joe has been one disaster after the other since he came into office.

The thing that we have to remember is that when the terms were set in stone, the life expectancy was so much less back then than it is today. I'm almost 70 and I sure can't do what I used to. Father time waits for no one, no matter what pills you take or what your yes people tell you.
There it is. I'm 70 myself and feel pretty darn good but I wouldn't run for office at my age. Once you pass 70 stuff happens, some bad, some not so bad, but it's going to happen sooner or later. And certainly the Founders saw no reason to come up with term limits and life expectency in those days was one of those reasons.
Honestly, if Trump's the Republican nominee in 2024 (and a lot can happen in a year) I'll vote for him but I'd just as soon he didn't run, strictly on account of his age.

It is an opinion. And that is the one thing I like about Maher. But while I appreciate his sarcasm and comedy, in this, I do not agree on his judgement in this takedown of Biden. I would prefer other people run, but the 'corporate office' isnt letting that happen. I disagree with the 'corporate control' over the machinery of the Democratic leadership, which always seems to get some basic realities wrong, like their own mission statement. And if one thing were to sum up how the Democrats gets stuff wrong, it would be that logical, well reasoned arguments do not sway angry, deluded, ignorant and fearful people.
A little pathos, please, and attack the Republicans obvious lack of morality in almost everything, and do it with righteous indignation.

100% agree. Taking it a step further. We need term limits and mandatory retirement age. Say 67...ok 70. But no more Grassley's, Ginsburg's, Feinstein's, McConnel's etc. There will always be someone available to take their place and move the ball forward with a higher degree of ability. I think the only reason the founders didn't put term limits in the constitution is because it was ridiculous at the time to think that people would make a lifelong career out of public service. I agree with you on this. Age limits, and term limits will bring fresh new ideas an energy to the halls of government. When I heard feinstein handed power of attorney to her daughter, but was still a sitting member of congress, I nearly lost my mind.
