A new series I plan to do on a regular basis, listen to me babble as I play my monk through classic EverQuest content.

Always loved the original character design for iksars, for some reason it is just perfect.
I love that monks don't even need weapons to kick ass. Definitely a nice perk when you're new, broke and can't afford anything.
I decided to re-re-re-re-watch this series since I'm playing a monk aswell now on P99

I live vicariously through youtubers as yourself since I deep in college towards a BA in History and as such, my playing time has been reduced to 0....seeing as how I have this small thing called addiction disorder and anything i do i wish to do it all the way, and since i can't i choose to rather not play at all, and enjoy the quality of videos from cool people as yourself.
Thats great to hear. Good luck with your studies, tertiary education is a very great experience even if it does mean you have to sacrifice all of your free time along the way. I hope these can serve as an adequate substitute until you have more free time on your hands.

I started a wood elf bard and was around 57 before I tried an Iksar Monk. I think I made it till around the 30s till I stopped playing altogether in 2001. This brings back memories.
My favorite part of being a monk was balancing your weight 😂

I've watched this series before but I'm watching through again because I just started playing an iksar monk on p2002 (similar to p99, but goes up to planes of power expansion). Thanks for the great vids.
Just made a Monk on Green because I am new to the game. I think I'm going to binge these until I fall asleep. My monk is 5 after 3 hours and I have amassed 7p farming shields and weapons. Also, the bone chips was key in leveling, thank you! Her name is Spankyfist.

Glad to see you back, really sad to see the intro song issue has gone on this long and caused you to either kill it altogether or have to reupload your series w/o the intro.

Omg man... i played so much time on this game starting in 1998 and stoped with WoW. When i think again about this game, there is so much nostalgie, but i really prefer WoW for exp with quest, because i remember passing like 50 hours killing the same mob at the same spot again and again... when i remember that, i think i was totaly stupid lol. BTW i was playing an High Elf Enchanter on PvP race server (Elfs vs low people vs humains vs dark race)

Yea its a shame about EQNext. I was very keen for it when it was announced, I even bought a trailblazer key. Very unfortunate that they had the rug pulled out from under them after Sony sold off the company.

Well started playing the classic Eq and Got my mnk to lvl 12. Was amazed at what I forgot. So while in EC at tunnel I OOC out for info on mnks. Had one mnk responed. Name is Ikass. Told me to check you out. So I am here. But was wondering, because I made a human mnk. At the time I played EQ they did not have that race. I am not sure if I should delete him, and go the other race. Or continue on. But anyway needed some help remembering so I will start here. Want to give a thanks before hand also. Human Monk Humility
Human and Iksar monk do provide very different leveling experiences and challenges. That being said, in my opinion you should never let min/max influence the race of the character you play. If you prefer the human monk I would 100% recommend sticking with it. The overall fundamentals will remain the same regardless of the race. The only portions of my content that would not be accessible to Human monks would be any of the portions that would directly involve Cabilis. Even that could potentially be achieved by a Human with enough grinding.

1:05 monk is arguably the best class to be as iksar and iksar are the best monk 😀
im an eq player from day 1 but i left for a while and when i first came back i was very sad to find i cant find groups anywhere cus everyone 2 boxes i want to come back so if anyone knows a server where ppl still play together like the old days let me know
Heya Flatts, good to have you back! I'll rewatch the series as I'm planning to try out P99 myself. Can you give some advice to someone completely new to EQ? (If you have a vid, it'd be great if you could point me to it!)

No, not the midi only the original song. But I figured with all the drama it had caused me over the years I wanted to just stop using it all together. I may upload just the intro as a standalone video on the channel with the original song intact some day. I'm more than happy for whatever music company that claims they have the rights to it run ads just on the 30 second clip.

I’ve always wanted to play a monk, bard, or rouge because of their unique abilities but never got them past like lvl 15 back in the day
are there any npcs that non evil races can sell to for hunting in field of bone or kurns tower? How far would we have to run to sell
Probably have to run to the Overthere if your race/class/religion allows it at the outpost, otherwise Dreadlands druids or Firiona Vie unless I'm forgetting something.

How did I record all this stuff? I use a program called ShadowPlay that allows me to record the video games I play and then I edit them together using Adobe Premiere. ShadowPlay in particular is free but requires an Nvidia graphics card. There are however, plenty of other options out there that allow you to capture anything that happens on your screen ;)
