Dog pain can be difficult to recognize, or treat at home. In this video Dr Jones shows you how to know if your dog is in pain, along with the safest, effective remedies that you can use at home. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
It's amazing how well behaved the "patient" was. My dogs are not that cooperative. Great video, Doc!
You’re a kind caring Veterinarian. Glad there are people like you out there. That are willing to help others. Thanks!
Thanks
Veterinary Secrets : Your welcome.
Thank you, my dog was in pain and vets closed gave his a 150mg aspirin and it eased his ear ache until we get to vet.
@@stepheboyd17 aspirin for humans? Is it safe? Thanks 👍
I really wish all conventional vets would give out this information without us having to go look it up on our own on youtube. all the vets i deal with seem so uneducated on anything other than prescribing drugs. we need more vets like you. thank you for sharing! my vet didn't even tell me what dosage of glucosamine/chondroitin/msm to give, so im SO GLAD i found it here. i just gave some to my dog.
There have been zero clinical studies that prove that glucosamine/chondroitin/msm have any efficacy whatsoever. I think it is actually irresponsible to push medications that are not evidence based. ESPECIALLY for animals.Animals are not capable of believing in the healing powers of the magic pill so they NEED evidence based medicine.
Thyrza Segal Thats why i actually take me dogs reaction seriously. He has no clue he on it. in 2 month she was a puppy again. That's what I believe is helping her..no such thing as placebo affect when it's your dog. I ran out for a about month AND what a change.
Appreciate Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Schallingora Complete Resetting Scheme (google it)? It is a great one of a kind guide for curing arthritis minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend Sam finally got astronomical results with it.
Pcy bbh, i totally agree. These vets are so uninformed and uncaring. You spend $100 just waking in the door and i dont trust their diagnosis bcus they are so money hungry and can be selling you crap just for profit and not actually care if your dog isnt sick or needing this stuff.
@@ThyrzaSegal Really? I had not heard that. But, I prefer to stay with what is helping my beautiful Lab, "Max" and those three along with other supps are working. Good Luck. p.s. the drug which is a medicam based med., made him very jittery, as he is only now five yrs (at the time, he was going on three) I chose to stop bc the thot of him living out his young life on the poison was not making any of our family happy. He does well now. Thanks.
You make the world a better place. I so appreciate you! God Bless!
I LOVE how your dog just lays there and accepts it all❤️👍🏻
He's a very good model😊
He looks like he might have scoffed down an edible 😂
Gosh. I can't thank you enough. We woke up this Thanksgiving morning to our 17 year old Beagle in pain. Vocalizing his pain for the first time which was hard to hear.
Trying to find a vet, I had some arnica in the house I'd purchased for nerve pain while in Mexico and dosed him as you suggested. he's been following me around the house asking for help. Within an hour, we could see he had some relief. Bless you for the emergency help.
Waiting for our appt which must wait until tomorrow - we're in a rural area so no emergency hospitals.
Thank you so much doctor! My dog has a veterinary appointment tomorrow and I was hesitant to take him because I know it's going to be expensive for them to just tell me that he has arthritis. I still want to take him to make sure he isn't suffering from anything else more severe. But I'm glad to know that there are alternatives to the expensive pain medications they'll surely prescribe me. I love that you offer healing touch and massage options for pet parents as well! God bless you and your work and your great channel. Thank you
Happy to help as much as I can:)

Thank you Doctor. God bless you. My dog is 15 years old and I know she has not too much time. I am scard. The only thing I want is her to be well and painless. I love her so much.
Hi Hilda. My dog is 14 y/o and I feel the same way right now. I just don't want her to be in pain. She can't even walk anymore.

I also am scared, my toy poodle is 15 heart, skin problems, loss most of his pretty hair, coughs non stop, 😩😩😩I cannot afford a vet to even look at him. I just do the best I can for him, I will try these suggestions for one of my other babies, I hv 4. He is limping for about 3 wks now.

We can't thank you enough for sharing your experience and wisdom with us. Our dogs are very grateful! Bless you 🙏
Absolutely amazing!!
Very helpful, thanks Dr 🙏🏼
You're a wonderful vet. Our girl Valentine is almost 14. She's a German shepherd who has beaten perianal fistulas and was diagnosed with kidney disease in Oct 22. She has arthritis and muscle atrophy, caused by the steroids to treat the pf. A couple of days ago she was really struggling to get up, hurt her front leg coming down the stairs. The veterinary nurse basically said we'll see her in 24 hours but be prepared. Started to make improvement throughout the day and was much better the following day. Took her back to the vet and she was happy with how much she'd improved. The only medication she's getting is half a paracetamol twice daily. However I use aromatherapy etc myself. Took to Google last night, started her on arnica and made a blend of, 1 drop of each in 20ml of almond oil, lavender, chamomile, rosemary and marjoram. During my research copaiba oil kept popping up so I've ordered a bottle and that will here tomorrow. I took her for a very short walk this morning, I let her decide when it was time to come back. I will use the acupressure point and massage her back etc and not just her front leg. Thank you so much for making these videos, they're invaluable. Especially for people like because she can't get nsaids because of the ckd. I'm confident using the herbal remedies, massage etc will make a massive difference quickly. Thanks again
Thank you for taking the time and sharing your knowledge with us. It's much appreciated doc

Oh thank you so much for sharing this information. My soft coated wheaten Terrier poodle mix huge dog is suffering greatly right now and we can't afford to see our vet. His hips are shot that and or maybe pinched nerves in back legs. He's not walking well as of yesterday. He's about 14 years old and around 90+pounds. We feel helpless to ease his pain but will give him that amount of aspirin as you suggested here. Thanks again so much
Thank you, thank you!!

Dear Dr. A. Jones,
Thank you for the information you share via 'youtube'. I've found many of your videos extremely helpful, and appreciate the detailed explanations and teachings. There are several videos where I can relate the information to for my 13 year old dachshund... and I know Frankie, my doxie, appreciates me learning some of this info, rather than having to be brought to the 'puppy doctor' when ever i have a worry about him. Thank you for all of the information you are sharing- and all of the homeopathies too!!!!

How did it work?
Sorry if this is too long. I am at a crossroad and just found your page. My dog was fine she’s 11 years old but a spunky gal. I’m a Respiratory Therapist so I’ve been stuck at hospital for nearly all of 2020. I put in a doggie door. After 3 months of using with no issues Sunny starts limping. Took off and went to the Doctor. Couldn’t go in with her, X-rays weren’t obtained but a physical exam showed she must have some arthritis. Ostimax was precribed and no change. Last night couldn’t get up without help or on the bed. Made a appointment to take her and requested to go inside. She’s eating good, drinking and this morning got up went outside and did her business. Came right back in and was able to get on the bed. Dr office has now cancelled the appt due to a positive employee. I’m stopping the 75 mg dose and trying the massages and alternating heat and ice. Have her with a massage weighted blanket on her hip. What else? I’m going after the other things suggested but know I have to get food on her belly because she threw up two days in a row. This was because I gave her pug knuckles and she ate her pug sisters as well as hers...I think. I’m afraid going to 75mg was the wrong choice she’s gone downhill
How's your dog now? My dog had a similar episode with NSAID. I realised I shouldn't have given her an NSAID in the first go. Also, never have given her NSAID without a PPI, she developed ulcers, anorexia, diarrhoea.
Such a wonderful video!
I take my 33lb Frenchie to a chiropractor and he LOVES her! Although he now "asks" me to message his back. LOL I gladly do it as well!🤗

Thanks for watching!
Hello, My 9month old Boxer Puppy Yankee was in the Backseat of My Car. And Not once But twice in a matter of 5-10 Minutes I had to stop short because of a Deer running out in front of My Car. He hit His behind on My Center console, I don't recall it being very hard of a hit. Now He is Home. Seems pretty lazy, and has a bit of a hard time getting off of His bed. Needs a lot of encouragement to do so. He had Minor Shakes yesterday but they seemed to have stopped. Still has His normal beast like appetite. I was driving from My VA House to NY when this happened. The Night before He was running around like a mad man and having a great time. Once we got back to NY he was like this. I lost My other Boxer Rocco about a Year ago due to sudden kidney failure. So I'm pretty freaked out right now. Yankee had a full medical exam when I bought Him. Blood and everything. No issues what so ever. Please please help. I don't know what to do, and I'm a little freaked that this is something bad. And that He won't be able to run and play with Me anymore. Everyone is saying it's nothing bad but I'm just worried. What can I do to help.
Thanks
Anthony
Fantastic video! Great caring Veternarian!
Thanks
Thank you so much for your video! Last Friday my min pin got his leg caught up in a blanket on the couch and fell to the floor hitting his neck. He became completely paralyzed. The vet said that his neck is badly sprained but no broken bones or disc ruptures. He's being treated with steroids, massage and water therapy and now after a week he can lift his neck. I don't know how much longer I can afford to keep him at the vet. Eventually I will have to bring him home and treat him the best that I possibly can. What is your opinion about me bringing him home? My vet wants to keep him for as long as it takes. Once again thank you so very much for your videos. You are very dedicated and love what you do. I appreciate you so much. Best wishes! Teresa
Thanks- I hope he responds- consider seeing a chiropractor
Thank you so much. Wish my dog could have an appointment with you.

Dr thank you so much for this information. I really needed this video. 4days ago My dog is 4 year old Pekingese and all of a sudden he got up slowly nothing too different but then when I tried picking him up (which he’s used to) he started yelping. I notice he was having twitching/spasms on his right side of the neck. Took him to the emergency vet and they RX’d meloxicam and f/u with prime Vet. Long story short they did the whole assessment RX’d a muscle relaxant. Till this day he’s having the neck spasms. Dr. where can I get these supplements? Are they at a regular vitamin shop?
WOW!, Thanks for concise, no nonsense information that will surely be helpful to me. You put a lot of good information in a short video...keep this going. My 5 YO Lab holds a back leg aloft on occasion. I can't ID the cause, but I do give him some of the things you recommended with his meals, and an aspirin judiciously when needed. I know he'll enjoy the proper massage technique you showed. I subscribed today.

I really want to thank you for sharing your acupressure knowledge. My 12 year old dane has been in marked pain for 6 months now. He eats a homemade diet ( not raw however). Supplements of green lipped mussels/coconut oil/fish oil/ tumeric/ vitamin e / vita C and now Dasequin & Duralactin & Adequan injections. He is still in pain . The only thing that has helped him was acupuncture. Acupuncture seems to not be an option now, as he can't travel and he tried to bite the vet who was at my home doing the acupuncture when she removed the needles.( he did great until then) . I am going to try your recommendations for acupressure & the arnica. As I did the techniques while watching your video Diesel licked my face and then went to sleep. God Bless ! I am SO appreciative for an option to help him!

Hi Dr. Jones. Thanks for the valuable tips. I really hope they will help my 5 year old mini poodle. She has had ongoing mysterious joint issues for three years and is not recovering well after MMP cruciate ligament surgery. She stretches her leg back while sleeping, then often screams with pain on sitting or standing. Not good evenon Onsior, 1.5mg prednisolone, a max of half a paracetamol (daily) and Nutraquin+ (boswellia, glucosamine, chondroitin), fish oil, propalis and a tiny amount of turmeric. I help her up with a towel to support but cannot when her legs are back. Very upsetting. Hoping to find some way through it all. Such a wonderful character ...

Thank you for your great videos, Dr. Jones. My 6 year old kitty, named Banana had a sudden attack of some sort back in July 2016 and was diagnosed by her vet with Saddle Thrombus that affected her left leg. She can walk with a limp to mainly her left leg. What home remedies would you recommend, please?
Hi HC. The one that I have seen advised is a flavonoid called rutin. Dose 50mg twice daily. The dose for a condition called chylothorax is much higher. Discuss with your vet, but this is what I would put my cat on. Also check for underlying heart disease

My little doggie fell. He is about 10lbs. It is Dec. 26th, 2016. He is a Chorkie. He is now limping and this was a very informative video. Thank you so much for posting this. I was wondering about ASA and you answered my thoughts. He is not whining, shows no signs of pain upon examination of his little right front paw/ft. When he does walk, he seems to be tiptoeing and when he stands, his paw hangs down, but doesn't want to walk on it. He will be 10 yrs. young in March, 2017.
