My oldest is 4 and a half. I was abusing weed and spent most of the days locked in my room. I decided to be a better father and currently have goals and plans to take my kids and myself to a on a journey full of success. Keep me in your prayers.
I’m praying for you, brother. May the journey be filled with blessings, joy, and love. May it exceed your dreams and expectations for you and your children!
Same here bro I’m learning to lay off the weed and looking on google more for more activities in the city for my step kids and my one child on the way . I’ll pray for you brother because I can use one too
Dude same for me you got this
Im struggling the same way
Praying you get through your hardships and become the man/father you’re destined to be.
Respect to all single dads , I’m one ,
I wish I had a Great Spiritual Christian dad
Stan Break yikes
My hats off to you. as one father to another.
Right here brothaa respecttt
You better not sock your son in your face. I sure with I had a good father.
Just found out a couple hours ago I’m going to be a dad. Found this inspiring. Thanks
Santana 805 What’s it like to be a father now?
Don't be like My father I beg you
Santana 805 oh Congrats....
Daddy
How's it going? Single dad much? Lol
Taylor Made turned out it wasn’t mine.
Best advice I was ever given as a dad was from a pastor friend of mine. He said to me "I told my children early on that I have Plenty of friends. But only two children. We can be friends, but I will always be your father. Dont forget that."
In other words...I'm your dad...not your friend. In doing that his kids wound up with something better. An authority figure who was their best friend.
Wish I had seen this 12 years ago. My girl is turning 15 in a few days and I feel like I’ve failed in a lot of these areas. Thanks for posting.
15 is still not too late if you wanna improve as a father.
It’s not to late. My little girl is 5 and I feel like I mess up a lot. But I’m trying
It's never too late. Don't be afraid to show that weakness and admit to her what you feel. It's okay to apologize to your children.
My father left before I was 2 and I grew up without him. It took him until I was nearly 25 years old to admit he regretted it and at the same time that I was dealing with the question "Why didn't he want me?", he was dealing with the grief of knowing that he screwed up and lost his chance to have me in his life while I was still young.
Had he contacted me and explained things to me, or even told me in person the very few times that we did talk in person, he would have saved me a lot of pain. I grew up thinking I was a mistake. That does a lot of damage to a little boy. Think back to the question he gave in the video.
TL;DR? Talk to your daughter. Let down the Dad guard, let the mask slip. Tell her you feel like you could have done better in some areas and tell her you're sorry if there's anything that you didn't get right.
Ask her questions. Find out where she's at mentally so you two can get on the same page and build a stronger relationship.
It's never too late.
My dad waited over 20 years. All he needed to do was talk to me instead of pretending nothing happened.
Brother I would be willing to bet she would say the complete opposite..
I’m 28 and would still like for my father to come back, it’s obviously not too late. Showing up is half the battle
There are some who didn't grow up with Fathers and now we're here trying to learn how to be one. Good job to all of you who are in that position, and ALL Fathers who are in their kids lives
Yes I’m one brother.. I’m learning as I’m growing with them. (My sons)
Im 18 and I found out the other day that I'm goin to be a dad and i want to be the best father I could possibly be
Going to this UA-cam video was one of the best things you could do. I'm glad you care don't stop man
You can do it!!!
You are too young
+Captain Jack Pugh to late now eh?
K̸I̴D̸D̴O̴ Maybe not to late to get an abortion?
Edit: I apologize if my comment offended you. You may think abortion is wrong, I don’t. Differing opinions exist, it’s not my job to change my own opinion if you don’t like it.
I’m just a single dad, trying to be the best I can for my son. He is my world.
I watched this video while my daughter was less than a month old and now she’s a year and a half watching it again it means a lot to me more now than before
I subscribe to your channel awhile back and it showed I was unsubscribed. The devil doesn’t want us men to encourage each other to become great fathers. Manny blessing to all you dads out there.
Exactly brother, we want our kids to find their own genius.
I’m 38 years old and I want to be a dad so bad, and until I saw this video today, I was worried that I won’t have what it takes to be a good father. I feel more confident now that I still have a chance to be a good parent.
All it takes is the courage to try.
I was 38 when it became a father. Those thoughts flooded my mind. Once my son was born, I decided I’d be the best father I could. That’s what counts is effort.
There is no one good. Not even one. The best thing you can do is focus on the TRUTH of this world and be an example for not only your kid, but any "kid" you cross paths with in this life. Becoming a parent for the sake of becoming a parent before understanding how and why we were created will only bring strife.
I'm not a father yet, I'm single as of now.
I'm watching this to give my child/ren a better life than previously mine. My dad wasn't desirable but I'm greatful that he did his best, so I'll become better.
The best I give you all!
Hello brothers and sisters. I would just like to recommend that everyone read the book ‘Raising Warriors: Preparing Your Children For a Godly Life’. Reading that book was the best desicion I ever made.
Thanks for this video. My previous step dad was a narcissistic abuser for 9 years, and I'm atm talking to a woman who has a daughter, so I'm watching this so I can be a good dad ❤
21 years old here, have a 3 year old turning 4 the end of this month, what a rollercoaster! I was down for some time thinking im a bad dad if i dont teach her enough, but watching this, im really not, and you shouldnt either, theres just always room to be a better dad and thank you for this video💪🏼
Please don't be angry at them
If you're worrying about being a better dad, then you're already a better dad than most.
Bless u brother thank u for promoting father hood
Being a dad is awesome....tough at times but awesome best thing I could ever experience.
No doubt. Nothing better.
I am glad I am
On the right track. It’s natural instincts.Good job Dads!
That is one of the most beautiful/manly/ well groomed beard I have ever seen.
Haha, appreciate that!
Peter Pan truth!
gr8 beard
Yeah but the voice dont match, unless he goes gym and is super buff, but good content. Subbed
That's exactly what I was going to say!!!
Find it so fascinating this video was in my UA-cam feed minutes after a long conversation with my 9 year old son about life, adversity, and love. Fatherhood has been the most challenging event in my life yet also the most transformative. It has strengthened me in ways I couldn't have imagined before. To all the struggling dads, may God give you the strength you need to keep moving forward. If you're religious, pray for strength to find the way forward and not the way out.
Im a 42yr old 1st time dad. I was worried my disconnected, boomer era sports mancentric upbringing may adversely affect my boy. I feel relieved that my personal plan aligns with this to a T. Hes almost 2 and is already proud to push the swiffer behind me while i sweep. We dance or share an apple afterwards as a reward, he chooses. Simple magic tricks are his favorite engagement. Any older guys wondering "can i do this" the answer is yes. You bring wisdom and forethought to the longest, best game you will ever play. You got this.
Man I love you . I actually watched this video with mu kiddo , excellent conversation afterwards.
Many thanks may i curse you with Superior Health and Triumphant Joy . Blessings to you and your loved family .
downloaded this (thanks to youtube premium) and watching it whenever i need it. thank you for the encouragement
Been a father for the last 4 years... I'm still learning and im so glad I found this video, im subscribed and ready to learn even more. Self growth and rebuilding and this helps me so much.
are you single father ??
@@tusher903 no I'm with my wife. Just moved to a new state with no family or friends.
Just graduated high school and gonna be a dad in about 7 months. Excited and scared, just hope I can be a good dad and give them a happy life. I know I’m no longer just me and I know I am now part of this kid. I love you Dexter or Anastasia. Can’t wait to hold your hand and hug you and go on vacations and bring you to school and be there when you fall down. I’m always gonna love you dex or Ana. More than you will ever know
Very good Sir. My wife showed me your video. May God Bless u keep the good work going
I’m 20 years old and just found out I’m going to be a father. I want to be the best father I can possibly be. God give me wisdom! Give me patience! Help me be a great role model for my kid.
How is it going?
This restores my hope. Thank you for this video. And thanks to those here seeking this advice.
Man bro as a man....you said it and preached like no other...see the thing is many of us knew this but didnt know how to blueprint it so to speak ...thank you first of all for trying to give help and surely it helped many men....especially with kids who arent your own and who are yours ....you're right every kid is unique but it's the influences around that can alter things and as long as you're apart of it and are willing as a mentor a father you will learn and teach...that k you for your video you're a real man beyond what others pretend to be
Love the energy... I get judged for these morals daily. My two boys are a riot, but are respectful outside of our home. Great video!
I found out I was going to be a Dad in the middle of a tattoo appointment. I just remember a felling of both shock and happiness. My son is due in 2 months. I'm 22 years old and even though my son came as a suprise, I can't wait to be the best dad I can be for my boy.
thanks bro for your video,im a father of one four yr old boy it seems like it never gets easier but I don't know where id be without him they grow tooooo fast peace everyone.
I’m a professional in my 40s accomplished lots in the business/personal world but the one thing I’m most proud of is coaching my sons soccer team and winning the championship we had such a great time I also highly suggest doing it if you can’t be the head coach just go and help out I’m telling you the kids are so happy when they see dads taking part in what they enjoy doing
Thx for sharing this video, me as a single dad with twins, this channel looks like pure light ❤️
1. Recognize Difference 2. Eliminate our distraction and spend quality time for child 3. Answer them and let them they are enough 4. Need to look for teaching moments, it is not about discipline. It is the job of father to be a coach 5. Okay to be silly at times with our kids 6. Okay to be nosey- Know what are they being taught, get engaged, get involved 7. Consider getting involved in their extra curricular activities 8. Be the Dad first- It is dad first and be the friend later 9. Get them involved with you- Take them to your shop, to your race be engaged with them 10. Teach your kids the value of hard work, they don't deserve anything by default but they have to work towards it
Excellent video. This is what we need in our homes and our society. This video helps me see that we can do better, that we want the best for our children, and also help our marriage.
Father of a 3 year old daughter - I loved these tips and a few definitely rang true that I need to work on. Thank you for putting this video together.
As a dad of 3 beautiful baby girls, im happy to see this❤
Excellent list, I appreciate all 10, I’d like to add that to be a good dad we have to remember what it was like being a kid. Empathy helps us to practice patience, communication and further increases the effectiveness of those teaching moments.
Thank you sir. Crazy wonderful times ahead
I am father to a 4 month old son and a step father to a 5 year old and I’m going to instill these teaching now into my everyday living and I’m going to be the father I can be
I love this. I am a proud dad of 3 amazing kids. Being a dad is easy to do badly and hard to do well. It takes lots of comprises but ones that are worth the reward. For all the dads and dads to be, I wish you love and patience.
I find winter time with young kids is the hardest on me... I've got 3 under 5 years, and it's a lot more difficult, I feel trapped inside, torn between helping keep the house clean and playing with my kids. Usually we just play, so the house is a mess. Finding ways to de compress is harder too. When the weather's nice we spend all day outside, which when I'm outside I find my stress levels are easily managed. Now as I write this all 3 of my kids have Croup, my wife and I have colds, we're getting no sleep and stuck inside for the holidays... it's rough!!
Being a dad "badly" is a misnomer. You are a dad, and your children will Revere you if you stay close to the truth.
It's as simple as that.
The one thing I’ve learned after being a father of a boy and a girl for 22 years… listen more than talk when it comes to your kids. If they want your help they will come looking for it. I have always tried to push wisdom and experience onto my children and as helpful as it may be, it also makes your kids not want to be around you so much. No one wants to be preached to all the time. I should have just listened more and spoke only when necessary. I know they love and appreciate me, but I think they see me as this constant mentor rather than a fun dad who they feel comfortable opening up to.
I'm listening... I have 2 and recently lost a baby... Open to any more you have
I had a friend, who's a x15 grandfather now.
He recalls one of his daughters asking her mum a question, mum says "Ask your father".
Daughter replied "I don't want to know THAT much about it"
That stuck with me.
@@joecentral-o9984 My mum had a gift of not preaching to us. I later realized that if she saw a problem, she would gently approach us and tell us a very relevant story from her life. No lessons, no judgement, just a story.
Sometimes we learned, sometimes we didn't, but I think, me, being a *very* stubborn kid, it was the best approach.
Seeing this now thanks man double 👍 s
Thank you for this amazing advice as this is me right now. Wait…until a few minutes ago. Lessons learned.
My son is going to be 2 soon. And I’m constantly trying to improve as a father. I was raised by only my mother. And unfortunately my son is going to be raised by his dad only.. But I’m determined to raise him to be a respectable, honorable man.
I don’t have a kid but thanks for the cheat codes to parenthood
Powaup cheat codes patched lmao parenthood evolves with technology.. and will continue too..
I’m actually a single mama trying to be a better single father for my son. I know it doesn’t make much sense, but I have to try for him.
That is commendable how you are trying to do double duties. It makes sense that you want to give your children the best childhood possible. Remember that just bc most kids are being raised by a mom and a dad that doesn't always make for a successful upbringing. Give your child a chance to genuinely know you and they will love you all the more. Good luck on your journey. Judging by the fact you took time to watch this video I have no doubt you are a wonderful mother.
Absolutely not. Be the mom only. Women who try to be dads are feminism failures. You are clueless about men stay that way in regards to parenting. He will resent you for it. I did.
I have two two boys aged 2 and 1. The hardest yet the best things ever.. thanks man
Excellent video! I am a new father and really appreciate this information. My son turns 9 months next week!
Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Bless you sir, its heartwarming to see a good Dad
My rule: don’t let your dad’s mistakes be your mistakes. If you’re mad at something your dad did, don’t project that on your kids, take it as a lesson in what not to do.
Although I'm not a father yet, I intend to be one, one day. Still, I'm having a wonderful opportunity of working with young kids (ages 6 - 8) and that has been giving me a good insight of what being a father might be like. And for that reason I ran into pretty much the same tips pointed out on this great video.
Good luck dude. The world needs great dads!!!
Thanks for the awesome advice bro, my daughter will be here in 4 weeks time and im nervous and anxious as hell...but this lifted my spirits ✊🙏
Much respect to you and yours. My only hope is that more people can see things the way we do and cherish these values.
Best version of ourselves - so perfectly said. Thanks man
Thank you brother. I needed that. 👊🙏❤
The wife and I spent all our time with our kids, our family circle is super tight, our kids ain’t going anywhere away from us, and it’s guaranteed they will take care of us and not throw us away into a lonely rest home.
Time flys so start spending your time with them now!
Be in their life and don’t let the USA system screw you into thinking you have to work and keep up with Jones.
Live cheap and simple so you don’t end up enslaved and miserable.
Rich folks EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
Man I needed to hear all this God Bless You 🙌
Well said! Becoming a father also makes you a better man in general! I used to teach kids at school when I was younger, now that I’m a father myself I know I would be much more patient and caring towards other children as well, I would definitely be a better teacher...
Yay!
My son asked Siri, “Hey Siri, ‘Can you show me how to be a better daddy.’” This video came up. Good stuff. We talked about each point. Most I’m already doing but not as much as I want. Thanks for making clear points. (Why did you ask Siri that? “Because I thought you would like that.” Good son.)
Well done mate. Respect.
15 yr old here just prepping for the future also done A LOT of research to make sure I’m financially responsible and comfortable
I appreciate you so much man I could really cry
Thank you so much.. You probably won't read this or understand the impact your list will help me become a better father, but ultimately, help my children become self sufficient adults.. But I really appreciate your video and I aspire to be as great as a parent as you seem to be. Thank you so much and god bless.
Keep in conversation with other dads, don't be afraid to ask questions or for help. We're all in this together!
These videos encourage me that there are men out there who truly want to get this parenting thing right. I hope I choose the right man for me and my (future) kids
*Why wouldn't anyone not want to become a good dad* ?
Excellent points, I want to be the best dad i can be someday.💪🏾💪🏾
I love to cook, and my 3 yr old son asked me if he could help. He’s been helping me for a couple of weeks now!
I see a lot of fathers-to-be in the comments that have long been fathers. I wonder how they're doing? I myself have 2 girls and 2 boys; ages 9, 7, 5, and 6 months. I think it's important to reflect on your parenting and adjust as necessary. I'm glad I got most of these covered but there's always room for improvement! Fatherhood is truly the best.
Darn right! Having a daughter soon and hope I can instill strong values for her!
Amen. We all need to look for ways to be a better dad.
Absolute GOLD. Thank you 🙏
I know on the internet opinions are cheap, but the best and brightest kids I have ever met are the children who were never baby talked! And explain answers to children so they keep asking questions. I will be honest with my daughter and tell her I don’t know an answer but that I will help her find it. She is so incredibly smart and I just want her to have a wonderful life! Hope this helps someone!!
Thank you so much for sharing this, I wanted to hear this a lot.
There's no book on how to be a great father, but I find there are good points to take what works for you and your family nd adjust and learn and understand good points and understand not only other people in your family but knowing yourself as well. Love life lessons, interesting and great to see how little advice can change how you feel and how you deal and make other happy along with your own happiness.
Thanks Bro. I need to hear this!
Thought I was gonna be childless but then God changed it all 3 months ago.
Man ,thanks for sharing this video.
I got 2 kids and I’m still learning everyday thanks for the tips.
Growing up without a father....I needed this. Thank you.
I honestly am astonished and dumbfounded as to how you have not had more views. Don't get me wrong, it is still a substantial amount of people that have watched this and potentially have changed or improved their life as a result. However, taking a step back and watching what the world deems as important (as an example, I typed in, "how to be a better father". Yet when I got to, "how to be a b" the very first suggestion was....."bad bitch". Seriously?!?!?!
But I digress. Man, I don't know your name, but I thank you for putting up this video. My son is 6 years old, and for the past 2 years I have vigorously been searching within myself to be the best father I can be. It is nice to see other father's searching and figuring out ways to create a better world for their children. Especially with the direction this world that we are presenting to them is heading.
If you happen to read this, I currently have only watched 2 of your videos. Yet I want to say, keep making more videos! This world needs more enlightened people such as yourself. I have been saying for the past year that I want to make videos. However, I lack the appearance, courage, and the ability to construct verbal thoughts well enough to do so.
Keep at it bro, I hope all is going well for you and your family!
Respect
These are Awesome guidelines
Cuddles and ty
Thanks for this video, I'm a dad and I needed this. Thank you.
Grrreeeeaaatttt dad!!! I learned a couple things humbly and I hope others do too.. it’s tough. Real tough being a single dad. Thanks man. Keep the vids going
Thanks my man, I really needed to hear this.
This is really sound advice. Thank you and God bless
Ty sir. Great words of advice
Great choices. I can only hope I can pull all these off. I totally agree.
Kudos to Ryan for not simply copying what his father was doing but actively seeking out greatness to be passed on.
Thank you for this video. Extremely helpful
Thanks for the tips, Tormund!
Thank you for the great video. I'm not a Father yet, but, when the time does come, I want to be the best Father that I can be. Thank you for the great points.
+Paul Brosnan Thanks! As long as you keep trying (even when it gets tough), you'll be great!
Well said, my friend.
Love Your vid bro. I only have my kids on the weekends. So it's hard when their mom goes against what I think. I say the same thing. I'm a dad first. But she is a friend first. We've, their mother, have had arguments about this. Everything I try to teach apparently on a whiteboard and gets wiped away
Love this!! This right here, Brother, is among the richest content found on the internet. Besides our relationship with our God, and our dear brides, what else could possibly be more important?! I really appreciate you talking about this. I’m a proud father of 7 children and have struggled for 30 years trying to juggle all my responsibilities and keep enough of a healthy balance to make quality time for my children. Still struggling! LOVE your channel and have nothing but the highest respect for you! Please keep ‘em coming.
Beautiful and inspiring talk.
This is hands down the best Dad video. I learned alot and understand what he's saying. 🤘🤘
Holy shit! I got an amazing message for how I will conduct my life as a father from now on. I'm not joking, this has changed me. All I can do is say thank you Sir.
Great ideas and words. Inspired!
Thank you so much for this video
Stay strong!
