Ok thanks makes sence, was searching for the main injectors in addition to the pilot in the video. Looking forward to window valve operation video as well as if quantity of scavenging air can be varied.
Sure, great idea about the sudden change from fuel to gas. trust me this is seamless. about the window valve i will make one separately... for sure, do ping me if i forget... follow me on instagram too... #thedeepseaman...
Dear Chief. What MEGI Equipment is located on Trunk Deck? Particularily, 3 Cylinders near Vent Mast No 4. I mean LNGC, maybe VLECs are equipped differently.
HI Vlad, Good day, thanks for u question. well onboard here on ethane carriers we have several equipment on deck here. Can i do a separate video on this and answer you query.. this is a really good suggestion.. thanks for the love and support
Great video, thanks! Do the MEGI engines have a fuel sharing mode where any ratio of fuel oil and gas can be used? If so, how is it decided which ratio of fuel/gas to use? Or is it typically ran on dual fuel mode with just a small amount of pilot fuel
100% engine load - Pliot 4-6% max and the rest is Second (Gas) fuel.. this pillot 4-6% is the normal consumption even at lower loads.. so even at lower loads 30% engine power and up the gas is still 25 and pilot is 5... this engine MEGI-E can run only on full gas mode with 4-6% pilot.. for the injection timng/quantity the preset algorithm in the ECU controls this and does its own fuel index calibration depending on various parameters like Pcom, pmax, rpm, load, Tier III/II, fuel cal value, sulfur content, etc we cant change there is an option to go in to MANUA mode the newer gen MEGI-2 engines designed for Methane (LNG --NOT ETHANE) are designed for partial fuel partial gas and also one cylinder fuel other cylinders gas due to the new components and software
Theilot fuel injectors are the main injectors too,, just during pilot fuel operation they inject much lesser quantity.. and as soon as a gas trip occurs, the fuel plunger stroke is increased and quantity of fuel increase for the seamless changeover

pilot fuel is 4-5%. this is almost common for all loads as it is only to help start the combustion since auto ignition of ethane does not occur with the compression. the function of the pilot oil is similar to that of a spark plug in a petrol engine, The quantity of pilot oil can be adjusted from the MOP in the pilot oil profile, you can monitor this from the PMI computer app //Cocos// on the line recorder. the ELWI does not control the pilot oil the ELWI as the name suggests the control of the Window valve which is responsible for the Gas and NOT PILOT. Pilot oil comes thru the fuel injectors, so control is by the FIVA//CCU//
You are doing some excellent job sir. My sincere gratitude and appreciation for u. ❤️
thank you sir, please do like and share
Thank you so much 🙏 you’re so kind!! So happy you are enjoying your mug 😊
I love it!... THE mUG IS A PART OF ME NOW... ITS AN APPENDAGE.!!!

Coming soon!
Hi, would you be kind enough to show how the windows valve operates, as well as the sudden change over to fuel in case of gas failure. Thanks

Hi again, noticed gas injectors and pilot oil injectors....are the main fuel oil injectors located at the same area?

Chief can you please any video put PVU 's nitrogen accumulator. Pressure check and charging .
Sure, soon, do remind me if i forget

Good day
Can you please tell
The percentage of Pilot fuel and Gas fuel control by which part. Is it controlled by ELWI?

Ok, I cave. Back to sails please.
HA ha... No JOe, No!!! we can't loose another Joe!!!
You're right of course. Then we'd be under the thumb of MATES!@@!
