Yes. And 90s too. Reminds me of my eldest aunt's wedding. I was a flower girl then and only about 4 years old. And everything was pink. Us girls in the bridal party our dresses were pink lace. Even my uncle's wedding a few years later, where I was also a flower girl, very similar decor, except with gold. So nostalgic for back then
I thought I was the only one who felt like that too. When My Sister got married we invited our Neighbors who felt a little out of place. They were one of the very few White Folks at the Wedding but by the end of the evening they had the time of their life even learning to do The Electric Slide.
Can you imagine how fun it must have been to be a "Extra" in this Movie. Dylan McDermott in my opinion never gets the credit he deserves. He plays Jackson Latree a Lawyer and a well dressed one, then he plays Peter in Party Monster, then of course on The Practice (The Sister Show Of Ally McBeal). I wonder if Daryl Hannah felt if she dodged a bullet by not marrying JFK Jr.

“Clairee, you know I’d rather walk on my lips than to criticize anybody, *BUT* …” still kills me. Only Dolly Parton could deliver shade like that and still be adorable.
What an amazing lady she is. Can you imagine the Bank she got off of I Will Always Love You. Then Sally Field's performance in Sybil would be the inspiration for Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears because Sybil sat in a Big chair.
Did you hear about how Dolly crashed a Dolly Parton lookalike Contest and walked across the stage and another lady "won". I don't think she's going to do any more TV Movies about her life growing up after what Rick Schroder did with the Domestic Violence issue. Adele did the same thing where she disguised herself as a tribute singer and only after the fact did the ladies know it was her. One was a Drag Queen.😊

The funeral/cemetery scene is a roller coaster of emotions.
This is mine and my mama's movie - she's been watching since she got pregnant with me in 1990, and I've been watching it with her since before I could talk. We quote this movie all the time and never get tired of watching it. You're right about Dolly and Olympia, although my grandmother's sisters came mighty close. West Virgina born and bred, but they could throw shade like the good ladies of Chickasaw Parrish.
They should've added the line where Ouiser snidely remarks "Good! Now take your piece of ass and eat it! If anything "chocolatey" should come out, you're eatin' that too!"

In 1981 when Two Characters on The UK Soap Opera Coronation Street got married Ken Barlow (Played By William Roache) and Diedre (Played By The Late Anne Kirkbride) got married, they were married by a UK Celebrity Minister The Reverend Topping. Folks asked if they were really married. They even got more of a viewing audience next to Prince Charles & Princess Diana. Sadly there were to unhappy endings, Diedre "dies" on the show and in real life, while in real life Princess Diana dies as well.
Cameron Diaz's wedding dress in "My Best Friend's Wedding" was also beautiful. Very classic. Julia Roberts also starred in that movie, as the groom's best friend and the bride's maid-of-honor. Her lavender gown was gorgeous.
Remember when Julia Roberts married Lyle Lovett??!! I'll never forget there was this tabloid in the grocery store claiming to have pictures of the wedding and I instantly recognized they had just photoshopped Lyle's face over Dylan McDermott's from where they are standing at the altar together. It was crazy!!
