Car crash on the highway in the middle of a heavy rain downpour. Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rear camera catches an SUV in the express lane. Vehicle first loses control and smashes the cement barrier, and then with the momentum will roll across the other 3 lanes of traffic. Fortunately no additional vehicles hit this car as it was out of control. Scary site to see and just another reminder to ensure your tires have proper depth and tread, along with slowing down during the rain.

I learned about this in 5th grade. A couple of teenagers died in a car crash in my area and my teacher educated us about this phenomenon. It was raining this morning on my way to work… everyone had slowed down to about 40-45 mph on the freeway. I was grateful for that. I believe you can still hydroplane at that speed but it would have less impact hopefully.
