Louie Lopez' FA Skateboard is one of the most unique skateboard shapes I've ever skated. Louie Lopez just put out an FA Entertainment Part and I personally am pulling for Louie Lopez to win thrasher magazine skater of the year. For me this Louie Lopez FA board shape is not for me. The dimensions of Louie Lopez' Skateboard make the board very manuverable but for me i couldn't get used to the timing on my ollies, kickflips and heelflips. Regardless I know lots of people back this Louie Lopez FA Board shape. Just not for me.

The sound you make when you’re trying a trick is the funniest shit ever.
Dam this man van groan
Never heard someone groan every time they do a trick I think he has a problem hahaha wtf
@@oliewray8357 he’s just middle aged 😂
@@markskilbeck Ben Degros seems to not have that problem. Think it might be more he's not in the best shape.
😂😂😂
I know I’m late but, the snoopy graphic has been around long before Louie got on FA. I believe that etched snoopy design is on every FA board. At least that’s what’s been on all mine since I’ve started skating FA boards. Dill has been drawing that character for years now. Love your videos!
the wheel base is what makes it responsive bro
Lmao
Yeah bro 🤦
How you use your feet and body weight makes it responsive bro
I used to skate a lot more mellow boards and was against skating FA, but I tried one this year, and I love the shape now! It takes a bit to get used to if you don’t skate steep boards. My tricks feel higher with them as well
wow, such a cool deck! I'm in love with the unique shape and graphic, might have to pick one up for myself in the future. Louis Lopez is going crazy this year, a friend of mine thinks he's going to get soty and I agree! He's dropping parts like crazy, all of which are pushing boundaries and doing stuff nobody else is doing.
Cool video I’m so used to twin tail now I don’t think I want to skate FA shape again. But interesting to hear u talk about the differences of Louie’s board shape
It's definitely the trucks if your us to thunders. I have thunders on my fa board 👌
every ledge trick all you hear is "mhmmmmm" lolol
I love the shovel nose so much, I feel like I can flick a little later and get more pop on my flip tricks. Idk love these.
I had a board like that a while back. It takes a lot of adjustment with foot placement and where your foot flicks. Once it gets broken in it’ll probably mellow out and be a bit easier to skate.
I honestly love the FA Indy setup ever since I broke my ankle I feel like the steeper setup has more leverage so it takes less strength to actually pop the tail I was skating thunders and kept ghost popping switched to Indy’s and I pop perfectly fine! All preference tho! Make everyday a Friday dude 💪🏼
The Louie...'s big nose is good for transition skaters because it helps with air control. It's short wheelbase requires faster snap to pop, and the steep tail needs extra power for finesse. Watch out for your feet with the medium/deep concave when skating gaps and drops. The shape isn't forgiving for foot injuries.
Nice vid Joe 👍
If you look at his actual board he skates the mellow FA shape in 8.25. They only sell that shape in 8.44 on the fa site but it's there.
louie and mason silva also skate the same shape
@@RideBonesSwiss yeah I think it’s a classic BBS shape. Fa started making it around when Louie got on. Don’t know why they don’t sell the 8.25 unless he stepped up to 8.44
@@paunchcoorlightly4000 I have a feeling they don't sell his 8.25 shape because it doesn't match their shovel nose steeper kicks trend? Louie's kicks look fairly pointy compared to the classic FA shape.
@@RideBonesSwiss however they sell that tapered shape in 8.44. Only hockey ones are in stock but fa makes them too. Just weird
Edit your grunts out lol. Also if your doing a review dont go from a twin tail to a super non symmetrical board
Looks great
I skated FA/Hockey for a while. I really enjoyed them, but the kicks can be a little steep. I love wider noses and tails. I’ve never been into skinnier tails. The wider nose I really like considering I love doing noseslides. The last couple of years I’ve been skating Business and Company (Marc Johnson). I believe they no longer exist though. The last board I bought is a Otherness Brent Atchley board. Both those companies had wider noses as well.
You should also try it with the Thunders. Even though Tyshawn and Nak no longer skate for them, that’s what both of them ride.
kb skates thunders too but that fool rarely skates
It’s in your head accept it for what it is and it’s 🔥. You can skate anything as kind as you have an open mind and accept it. Keep skating it and don’t overthink it!!
Indys give you a shorter wheelbase and make the kicks even steeper because they’re farther in. Thunders sit farther out giving you a longer wheelbase. Just skate it with Thunders for like a week and you’ll love it 👌🏼
Wider wheel base makes the kicks steeper. So thunders will make it feel steeper vs Indy
Other way around
@@alexs.129 Watch the master Ben Degros explain, video is called skateboard wheelbase explained #2. It’s cool that you chimed in super late to the party but you’re wrong.
With steepness in relation to trucks, we are really talking about leverage. One will have less leverage if their trucks bring their wheelbase in. You can test this out yourself. Take two pencils and lay them one on top of the other, perpendicularly. You’ll find that as you bring the bottom pencil closer to the end of the top, the angle will increase (get steeper) when you press on the end of the top pencil.
Try it with Thunders. I have a Dill board with Thunder trucks and it feels really good once you get used to it.
Hey Joe, great video, so Do you felling any difference betwen ride a thunders and Indys? that board is looks like full shape, I think that board is close to 8.375 or something. you ride 149 size trucks, but you aren´t tested with any 144 indys or 148 thunders yet.
It reminds me of my first and only Zoo York board back in the 90s. The concave been even higher. It felt like standing in a boat. I hated it.
i guess this video change my mind on buying hocky deck
For sure, that's is the kind o deck I won't never ride, I hate the feelings of missing the pop, and for sure too I do prefere thunder or maybe venture over indy, I need a faster pop to few over control and that steeper filling dont makes my few safe
Try Geoff Rowley’s Free Dome decks, they have the shovel shape, but mellow on the tail and nose height. The decks are short though, so will be an interesting review after the Lopez deck.
Can you test out the Sean Malto twin tail?
those trucks are significantly higher then thunders to, so youll get a quicker pop on your regular trucks. Could be an easier timing adjustment for you.
indy mids are 52mm so pretty much same as thunders, actually he should get easier pop with indys than with thunders. The thing here is heavy trucks + steep kicks
After getting used to the vertical pop makes my kickflips supa high
Still hoping to see some videos (maybe a small series) of you tackling nollie or/and switch. Since it seems to be a weakness or at least something you rarely do.
He has done something very similar to this know with getting good at switch / nollie flips
Hockey Board's for life. I be skating my first FA soon. But the nose is my favorite part for me. My weight at 320 doing noille verial heels are soooooooooo easy.
I don’t like the steepness of the nose on FA. I was getting too much ghost pop from nollies.
I enjoyed FA, but I’m skating Prime. I was a 90’s skater and World, Blind, 101, Plan B was and still is my shit. It was good then and it’s good now.
The Snoopy thing is an FA thing. It was on their boards before Louie joined.
grat video!
Thanks!
The grunts
I wonder if louie actually skates this specific shape or if it is just for the public. I remember hearing mason silva say that he himself and louie skate the same shape. I suspect they just print louie´s graphics on his preferred shape for him to skate. As far as I know there are plenty of skaters that skate custom shapes that will never make it to mass production.
He skates a taper shape similar to a real board
It’s the same set up Mason Silva 8.28, 13.8 wb, ion know length, Indy 149, mob grip
That’s snoopys brother spike. It has nothing to do with Louie Lopez and idk why Jason dill uses it so much.
Dang that was a grip tape fail Joe
Local Joe the goat no CAP
if you want a board that is like this with a mellow tail and not such an aggressive concave you should get a wknd or quasi.
Acces imo work best with fa/hockey decks I skated them faithfully for almost a year straight I used thunder indy and venture but acces seems to work best with the shape and all the shape are the same for fa /hockey
i second this , Same with thunders i remember when i originally tried skating FA’s with indys/Ventures and it felt kinda awkward. Aces/Thunders on the other hand have the perfect mix for the FA Wheelbases
I love fa the boards fat nose helps catch my foot and the steep kicks are the best the shapes graphics etc and everything I love about these decks only thing I just hate about them is they chip so fast and easily I don’t skate as much as I want to I do skate aggressively but I’ve only had the board a week going on two and it chipped on both sides of the board it still skate but it’s annoying and it makes the deck weaker as time goes on
I’m currently skating a REAL twin tail complete and a FA 8.38 complete and it’s been throwing me off
I skate the FA board backwards and that helps a fuck ton
The noses throw me off for sure. I skated a friends very similar board and it messed up every single one of my tricks except I could front foot impossible like nothin
Okay I thought I was the only one who had that issue with fA and Hockey
a mellow version would be nice
i love watching joe because he understands the board and just really studying foot placement and technique is something i love watching
The snoopie drawing on the top of the board was done by jason dill
Nose is more steep but will pop more quickly than the tail because it is longer.
Indy’s feel best at 159+. Get a wider FA board 8.5 and up pit bigger Indy’s in them and it’s bliss Also Polar boards 8.5 and bigger w/159 Indy’s and up are the sweetest. Smaller Indy’s just suck compared to thunders
That smaller wheelbade
Is the key to wider boards. You get the stability in wider board but control of smaller boards. Wider boards and longer wheelbase so not good for street. These boards are mad to skate FASt. Go basic tricks and faster get confident and it will all fall in line. Skating faster less tech is so much funner and I’ve been a tech guy for years. SKate Fast homies don’t be scared go a little fast and build faster and faster.
The grunts got me hella distracted bro. Sorry I watch all your vids but you gotta edit that...
Try that board with thunders it will be way better
Hm don’t know, louie does ride indy so the shape is made for the indy geometry
@@SchwappSchwopp That wheelbase is really nice for Ventures and Thunders
@@jouhajohnny yeah but it also depends on nose and tail steepness, concave etc not only wheelbase matters imo
@@SchwappSchwopp Wheelbase makes the biggest difference for me
@@SchwappSchwopp this isn’t Louie’s actual shape, this is a production shape with his graphic on it
louie and mason silva skate the exact same shape and said they have been for like 10 years. i dont think he actually skates the shovel
do you know what shape it is? I feel like mason said he switched shapes when he left element
I don’t think they said the shape, but it’s in a bts video of misinformation doing the boardslide drop boardslide
I love fa and hockey boards
da wood is just weak asf , shit is done in 1 month if u skate it everyday
you gotta stretch more, so you can bend better with your tricks.
Louie doesn’t skate this shape he has his own special shape which looks alot like the deluxe 8.25 Ive looked at his board in person if you watch his video parts you will notice that he sometimes skates the square shape if he’s doing something gnarly that isn’t very tech
Would like to see a tranny video with you testing big boards Wheels loose trucks and trying someones tranny technique
Um actually louie skates mob
You kick to the side too much on the flicks, these full nose and tails you flick straight not to the side, look back at the clip with your flick marks
That’s not the same shape he rides , he rides a old flip shape it’s super round and not sold to the public, he doesn’t ride the stock shape you have here
And super flat
It’s the taper shape that hockey has that is only for the 8.44.
@@sk8mafia214 Louie rides a 8.2 not 8.4 it’s a different shape
@@Marleyhumphrey I know he rides the 8.25, I’m saying he uses the 8.44 taper shape.
