thank you for this - i just repotted my money tree for the first time (my gf got it for me in February). I had one stem that was soft, but still growing little leaves, so I took out the electrical tape holding it together and put it in the old pot (that I washed with soap and water just in case it is in fact, root rot), and put the remaining plant into a new pot! I have gentle strings that are just acting as supports now instead of tight elastics cutting into the trunks. It is about 16" tall at the highest leaves, and 8" from bottom of the trunks to the top. I hope that with better soil (and a little less water on my end ((oops!)), that it will continue to flourish. I'm subscribing to keep growing my plant knowledge
Beautiful thank you for sharing I wish I would I seen this video before mines started dieing that pot was to big that had in when I brought it so it was getting more water then it could handle 😢when I did decide to check it out it was way to late to save it the branches started getting mushy
This is great timing as I have literally bought one yesterday as a belated birthday present to myself ☺️ thanks for this video!! You got yourself another sub 😃
Happy birthday!! And thank you so much for subscribing. 🪴 I like the idea of buying presents to ourselves because why not? :) My presents to myself are always plants
@@AnnasViolets I pulled it out and you were right except my rubber band was in pieces. I have had this plant for years and had no idea. I even repotted in a smaller pot. I see the two pots I had my baby in were way too big. Thank you so much for your wisdom. You earned a new subby.
Question: my money Tree is growing but as I refreshed the dirt, I noticed 2 stalks are squishy and falling apart. Would it hurt the rest of the stalks if I removed the damaged ones?
Saw your comment, and wanted to say that taking out the squishy stalks would be the best thing! They're rotting and wouldn't want the rest of the trunks to rot, the soil might be too heavy or might need to be left to dry for a bit longer than it has been. These trees seem to prefer being a bit root bound than in a biiig pot. They also seem to like to dry out about halfway. Should be able to shimy the bad trunks out as the roots have usually rotted off at that point. Wishing you the best of luck!
I love your videos and are so helpful and very easy to follow. only question how do you know size of pot when you are re-potting your money tree? if you have a 10inch size would you move it to 12.5 or 14 inch pot? I am looking to buy the ceramic ones you are suggesting.
Hi Paola, I would recommend repotting it only in spring, and in summer, if the weather is not very hot. In autumn it usually drops some leaves and the growth in slower, and in winter the growth almost stops. As for the soil I use 👉Miracle Grow potting mix: amzn.to/3T4gTJs
Spring will be the best! It's when the plants and trees start to grow faster after winter cold months. Depends in which area on the planet you live though :)
I think I’m experiencing root rot. The leaves were pale green and some fell off. I inspected the bottom stems and they were wet and a light brownish color. The roots looked brown I trimmed them back and repotted in new soil. Should I water right away or let it dry out first? Any suggestions??
Hi Christina. A big pot may cause root rot, and the leaves may fall off because of root rot. If it happens in winter, maybe everything is fine, as sometimes these trees lose some leaves in winter, but then grow new ones very fast in spring.

Is it safe to repot again because I didn’t know about the rubber band. I was told to only repot every 2 years or so. And I couldn’t understand what kind of soil you said to repot with
Yes, Darwin. The sooner, the better. Make sure the wooden stems are not soft. They get rotten very easily. Water it less than you do. It will help prevent root rot🌺
I am deve stated...an eight year old plant...all the mistakes you mentioned.. dried out braids.. it has one stem that is green...two leaves...how I can save it. Great light.. but was kept dry and very little water...how di I save it😢
Hi. If the spots are of an irregular shape and silver, look at the bottom side of the leaves. Are there black dots? Most probably it's thrips. I have another video about thrips and I show how the stains look like. Maybe check that video out
Anna are you southern European, just curious about the look and accent. Thanks for the MT tips and they have been utilized, all is well but still no 50's, shucks.

Nice video. I just repotted mine weeks ago and didn't notice rubber band. Though it is getting taller, it isn't getting thicker.
Thanks for sharing. Maybe the rubber band was deep at the base? But maybe it's not there any more :)

I didn’t notice rubber and in mine the first time I repotted. She’s very big, and I will be looking out on 2nd repot.
Usually, the rubber band is always there. But who knows, maybe yours didn't have it.

I would increase the size very slowly, step by step every year. From 10, I would go for 12.5, not 14

Let it dry out first. When they got rotten, it's very hard to save them

Anna's can this plant Dowell in a Garage and indoors??please tell me 🤗🤔
Hi after purchasing the plant how long do we wait before repotting and removing the rubberbands?
Hi Gloriana, I think 1-2 weeks is enough for the plant to get used to your environment and you can repot it
If my plant is in a larger pot than it should, could that cause leaves to fall? I noticed too many leaves have fallen off my Money plant.
Hi Christina. A big pot may cause root rot, and the leaves may fall off because of root rot. If it happens in winter, maybe everything is fine, as sometimes these trees lose some leaves in winter, but then grow new ones very fast in spring.

After seeing your video, I think my plant is in a pot too large!😯
Unfortunately, sometimes this happens, as they look like big trees but have very small root system
I used raised bed soil as a replant. Is that ok?
Hi Mai, not sure what soil you have there. Pachiras need well-drained soil. There is a link for the soil in the description of this video
Nice mine the leafs are curling up, what causes that"
My money tree has root rots, Can i just cut it with scissors?
Yes, Darwin. The sooner, the better. Make sure the wooden stems are not soft. They get rotten very easily. Water it less than you do. It will help prevent root rot🌺
Do you think clay soil will be good for this plant tree?
No
Absolutely not. You need soil that gets dry fast. Clay soil does just the opposite and the plant may get rotten easily
Thank you so much!

You are so welcome 🪴 Do you grow Pachira?
@@AnnasViolets My mother does!
whats the best way to save a half brocken stem
You can cut it and put into water, but make sure it is a green stem, not a wooden part. However, I must say, not all stems grow roots in water.
I just repotted my beautiful money tree, now the leaves are drooping down.
Im so scared i did something wrong.
It may be adjusting to the new "home". How is it now?
Is it normal for them to drop leaves as it grows?
Yes, if it's older leaves at the bottom. :)
Can we keep a money tree inside?
How often do you water the money tree?
Hi. When the soil gets dry. I don't keep it always moist
@@AnnasViolets thanks. I'm on my three money tree. For some reason I can't keep them alive 😩😔.the trunks end up getting soft and they die 🤦.
What is a good size pot
When you put the plant in the pot, the roots are not squashed and there is 1-2 cm of space around and below them to grow.
What kind of soil can I use?
It must be very light, chunky so that it gets dry fast.
Please suggest my plant leaves have white spots what should I do?
Hi. If the spots are of an irregular shape and silver, look at the bottom side of the leaves. Are there black dots? Most probably it's thrips. I have another video about thrips and I show how the stains look like. Maybe check that video out
Is raised bed soil ok?
Can't tell, sorry. The soil shall be very light and well-drained
💚
Thank you 💜🪴
You can not find best soil at homedepot, you meant miracle grow garden soil ?
It can be from any brand. The most important it shall be well drained so that it gets dry fast
Wait, why no perlite?
My plant is growing nicely but is starting to smell like vomit do you know why?
Maybe there is a rotting process in the soil?

@@AnnasViolets at least you could have told the composition of the soil you bought but you just stamped the company which paid you to do the video.
