This is a very timely video as I just rescued a friend's money tree from root rot! They had it in a self-watering pot that was keeping the soil super moist. And the pot was like 4x too big! Repotted it into a smaller pot with a super chunky mix. I hope it now can thrive for them!
I have 2 potted money trees. One that's single, & one that is braided. Both are outside, except for really cold temps, but they spend the majority in full sun. Just thought I'd share that🙏😊
I've killed about 5 of these! Everyone talks about how easy it is but mine always end up dying on me- it's so frustrating!! I have so many plants but I just can't get the hang of this one.
Thank you for this video, great information as I'm finding my money tree not so "easy" to care for lol. What does it mean if the leaves are getting see through?
I feel like the clear pots could be a problem. Roots don't like light. When the roots come in contact with the outside lights when they hit the edge of a clear pot they will damp off/die.
I have that same tree maybe same distributor like exactly the same pot and nursery pot stuck in the white pot, I will probably repot with some better draining soil mix thanks a ton I haven’t seen any fungus nats 🙏🏽
Thank you for all of this info. I love your channel and I’m a new subscriber. I’m a plant lover and I’d love to know..:Where did you get all your plant shelves?
Fun and informative Money Tree video, Ashley! Many thanks. For several years I’ve been placing my Money Tree outside from mid Spring until early Fall, weather permitting, here in Charlotte and he loves it. 🥰. As long as he gets the basics he’s a happy camper. Very enjoyable video to watch, as always. You’re spoiling us! 👌🪴🥰
Mosquito bit tea really stinks. I quit using it. I let the soil get dry, use peroxide with water and the yellow sticky things. After 2 months they are gone. 😊
I live in so florida, mine is outside in full sun, 100 degrees and humidity. It is growing like crazy with a strong trunk. The one I have in the shade on the porch is not growing as fast and it's very fragile.

For Fungus nats i take out the fungus soil and sprinkle cinnamon on top of the soil, and no more fungus or nats

I just wanted to tell you that because of you, I went to Horroks in Michigan. All I can say is is OMG! Thanks for sharing. It was awesome!

I leave them next to the window so they get lights and never water them till the soil is bone dry
My money tree is now shoulder high and really spread out. New growth often. It’s really doing well
I use a wooden stick or a knitting needle to test my soil.
Also where to keep the pots immediately after repotting? Directly under grow light or should be kept somewhere in shade ?
I have 1with six and seven leaves

Great video. You answered many questions for me. Except pruning and braiding. I need to know more about that.
I feel like the clear pots could be a problem. Roots don't like light. When the roots come in contact with the outside lights when they hit the edge of a clear pot they will damp off/die.
So you used only the substrate from the cover or did you add any potting mix along with the substrate as you mentioned initially in the video ?

Also you dint show the watering after repotting. So no need to water then ?

Definitely do take the tape off when you get these! I’ve lost branches before I realized it was taped. It caused root rot, I was so sad
They also often have rubber bands tied up in the roots when you buy them
What does it mean that a plant gets "leggy"?
Thank you!🤍
Thanks
Thank u for sharing

Nice dear ❤
💚
Isn't this the same plant as the Malabar Chestnut?
Money trees can have 5 or 6 leaves. Mine has both 5 and 6 leaves on the same plant !
Mosquito bit tea really stinks. I quit using it.

Can you tell me the measurements for your mixture please?
Yes plz share!
I bought the same plant and all my leave are off and all is left is the branches , is it over, or does it still have life ?
if they all fell off when/after moving/repotting its completely normal! dont change ur money tree location a lot so u can prevent it in the future.

Nice 👍 sharing tips good 👍😊
The rubber band and the tape will slowly kill your money tree. It takes years for the tape to breakdown if it breaks down at all.
I always wanted to buy one my self but people keep telling me that they’re supposed to be gifted is that true ? 😅😅
honestly u can buy it for urself it doesnt rlly matter
But i thought generally speaking roots didn't like exposure to light.
