I like how RGG made this song so they didn't have to deal with copyright to get the Japanese theme for this fight to play in the western release and it just happens to be the best song in the game
I've left this comment on a few videos, but I'll say it again here: "My story isn't yours to write." Is a line from Shinada himself that perfectly sums up his entire arc in Yakuza 5. He isn't a near superhero fighting the world and reclaiming the legend of his namesake, he's a regular man who never had the chance to truly achieve his dream and struggles tooth and nail to reclaim it. The theme of dreams is prevalent in all aspects of the story but I think it hits closest to home with Shinada. What an amazing character.
What i like about this song is that shinada isn't fighting some random thug boss or clan assasin. He's fighting the fucking leader of the tojo clan and it's not a super serious battle like Kiryu has done with Daigo, Shinada just see's Daigo as his friend from highschool and is gonna whoop his ass while not giving two shits knowing he's the big boss of the Tojo clan.
That feeling when Kiryu was fighting the Tojo Clan, taking control of the legend of the Dragon of Dojima. Then we have Shinada, fighting the Tojo Clan’s leader in order to take back control of his life. It’s poetry in motion.
I love that Daigo's boss fight in this game isn't really about fighting Daigo - it's about just trying to prove you can stand next to him. This track really captures that emotion.
Tatsu in Tatsuo also can be written as the same way ryu (dragon) is written. Tatsu means dragon (we have proof of this from the protagonist of Yakuza Black Panther being called Tatsuya Ukyo
The irony of this theme is that it’s the most “Yakuza” boss theme in all Yakuza 5 and it’s from a story of a character that’s not even a Yakuza. Shinada fucking earned it.
To be fair, this is a generic rock song because the original one in Japanese is licensed. They made another one for Daigo. The original is a lot more emotional but this is more action packed.
@@arsenal4739 this one is a remix of Shinada’s battle theme. Tbh the composer of this mix generally always goes for these bombastic climaxes. The original track shows more about Shinada as a character, but it also sounds much more homoerotic. This one? This is determination.
@Akiyama Gaming Usual stuff actually, the original song was copyrighted, and since Yakuza was such a small game in the west, they didn’t wanna bother getting the rights.

Shinada single handedly made Yakuza 5 my favorite yakuza game. Fav character in the series. Great personality, great character arc and message, relatable, sociable/genuine, and since hes only in this one game his story has minimal involvement with the massive convoluted (and often dicey) plotline that the other characters need to abide by. I didn't mind his fighting style either. GG
