Thanks for sharing. The commentary up to halfway was excellent. Hopefully other manufacturers will open their factories for videos and vie for top spot. Need to tag on summary to this video showing fruits of labour from campers' point of view.
Went round the Hymer factory were given full tour with commentary in German (understandable as we were in Germany). Had a purpose built overhead walkway down the whole line and was very enlightening .had to book but were able to stay on full serviced area at no charge at the town of Bad Waldsee. Really nice town with a welcoming feel and fantastic local Christmas market
Thank you for another informative video. I know if it wasn’t for you I would never have this opportunity. You have given me a wealth knowledge not only with motor home manufacturers, but with your travels. Your language skills and to show the everyday life in these countries is delightful!. So thank you again!
This is the most well done video of motor home construction I've seen. I've taken a tour of a plant in the U.S.....this is nothing like that. One very interesting (to me) and missing detail, is how they fasten the side walls and roof to the interior structure to form a single, unified, rigid structure. It looks like it's not from the outside in, but from the inside out.
Interesting video. I now know why some systems are hard to access if they need service or repair. Before sides are installed everything is open for the construction crews. The music was a tad over bearing. Far too loud and manic. Might have worked on a speeded up version. Seeing how they are constructed also makes sense of how it's possible for seams to allow water ingress.
OMG! This is by far the best video! 10 minutes is too short, I really wish there were more. I'm almost sold on Sunlight now. However, a van build would be interesting to see too. But thank you very much for this!
May be a modern facility but the speed of the workers reminds me of British Leyland in the 70's & 80's. Wouldn't want a Monday morning of Friday afternoon vehicle.
This is sooooo cool! For some reason I'd imagined the body would be done, then fitted out later, but that makes no sense! 😆 So much more efficient to do it like this. We're hoping to buy a Sunlight later this year, so it was so cool to see them being made. Amazing they let you video the process 👍😃 thanks for the vid!
There are producers in India and Thailand - I don't know of any producers in Malaysia but there have been other viewers from this country so there must be some motorhomes!
Great video Alan, the setup is very good there but not that much different from when i worked at Lunar caravans. I work at Nu Venture Motorhomes now doing the bespoke panel van conversions which is nothing like building production line models like these. Thanks for the video!
That is a coincidence as I was in Wakefield yesterday! I absolutely appreciate the difference between the production line and bespoke vans - I am also very glad to get a comment from someone who is on the front line of van production! I hope you can say what you think of other vans too!
@@VanlifewithAlan i am a subscriber to your channel and have been for some time now and really enjoy the videos, i have my own channel for the bespoke conversions i build to promote nu venture, if you have a minute i would really appreciate your feed back as you see hundreds of conversions and would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Many thanks Alan
Nearly 24 hours since your last video Mr. Heath. You are slacking! P.S. This is really interesting for me. I'm very interested in how these motorhomes are constructed.
But wait until you hear what I was doing yesterday! I have a new van. Mercedes. At the moment I am terrified about driving it - it so shiny. All will be revealed later!
Wow, there's so much manual labor going into it. Now I understand why they used to cost so much even before they started booming in popularity. Nowadays the margins are quite a bit higher because the demand is also high, but I was expecting far more automated processes. Maybe manufacturers should take this into consideration in case demand eventually drops (when housing market will hopefully crash and younger generations will finally be able to afford a place). By automating processes, they make their margins thinner now, but sustainable in the future. If they just keep paying people to do those jobs, when demand will drop, those people will have to go anyway and the business could take a difficult if not fatal hit.
Really good video, now let me say if you have a traffic accident in a 7 week old HYMER 588 in. SEPTEMBER 2018 not my fault and then told by main dealership where it was bought it needs a factory repair and then also told it needs to go back to Germany and i may get it back APRIL 2019 . And yes HYMER motorhomes are good but CUSTOMER SERVICE is very poor in my experience .
good video Alan, one question, do they treat and re-seal the holes they drill in the chassis to stop moister increase for corrosion prevention ? keep up the good work
always love your videos, and really liked the music in this one, made it fun! thanks for making these! Tell these manufacturers to send theses to Canada asap:)
its not just the music ( that crashes in on the cut at max volume then dips to nothing !) its everything ! that opening piece to camera was like a sketch from the fast show !! lol
So basically i can cut teslas model S roof ,remove the front, instal a new pick up cabin and delivery to this factory :) Best choice would be instaling a hymer 504 on a Model S skateboard . Best motorhome ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well. Does not seems so modern to me. Same as others manufactures in France, Spain and Italy more than decade ago. All visible in YT if someone doesn't belive me.
1:33 Seems like this video narrator/host is unwelcomed in here, based on the looks and reactions of these staffs. And also.... Those employees seem to be underpaid too.
I think the title is overly optimistic! Almost clickbait!! What makes it the most modern RV production in the world? The chain drive? I've seen your Morelo video and that's far better as a construction process. And of course, the music was a shocker!!
ROTFLMAO !! Laughable production values !! It beggars belief that you thought this was fit to publish ! My suggestion for 2019 is stick to one take, Unedited tours of the motorhomes. please don't attempt anymore ambitious videos like this one until you've learnt the basics of sound , Filming and editing . I also don't advise anymore appearances in front of camera until you've learnt to calm down a bit and to stop shouting at the top of your voice ! speak like a normal person !! Take a day to watch other channels to learn how superb quality can be achieved on a budget and as a one man band without lots of fancy gear . this current level of incompetence is an insult to your audience.
David Jose why are you such a mediocre little tit ? What is wrong with criticism? if somebody puts out a crap they deserve to be told it's crap!! Especially when they style themselves as an "epert" on full-time motorhome living. His channel is somewhat of a laughing stock and this video is one of the worst I've seen from him (and believe me that takes some doing !) I remember his video on the world's longest motorhome convoy. Terrible shots that went on for hours absolutely 0 interviews with anyone involved and no context at all ! That came in a close second
@@justinlinnane8043 As I am so bad, why are you watching. Don't you think your jealousy is more than a little childish? And when have I ever claimed to be an 'epert' (sic)?

I've owned a Carado i339 A Class for two years and I'm utterly convinced it's the best vehicle you can get for the money in every respect.

My past was production engineering and wished your video would last a while longer. But thank you for the opportunity to view Carado/Sunlight.
If they let me in again John, I will see what I can do.
Alan, happy new year and good health, keep up the good work!
Grazie mille per tutti i video che fai! Sei il numero 1 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Grazie - questo mi fa piaccere da leggere! Saluti da Milton Keynes, Regno Unito!
I have a Sunlight T69L from 2016 with Kingsbett and i love it
I took one to Switzerland four years ago!
What a nice video , thanks again Alan :-)
Glad you enjoyed it. That was a good day out - five years ago now!
VERY INTERESTING. THANKS FOR SHARING

Alan, that was indeed, fun to see. Thank you. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Pia!
Very good video Alan, getting into the construction to give buyers an idea of construction in terms of quality and durability.
Interesting video. I now know why some systems are hard to access if they need service or repair. Before sides are installed everything is open for the construction crews. This is a terrific video Alan and thanks for sharing. It was great to see inside the assembly plant and to witness the actual construction!
Thanks Alan, we have a T69L in lockdown in the UK, from Australia.
Bravo encore , great video, great music and yes we really want to see how motor homes are made, thanks a lot Alan .
Thanks James!
Excellent Alan
Have a great New Year. Thankyou for all your hard work in bringing these info vids to us all.

Awesome process.
Nice video, a look into a place few get to see. Thank you.
Make more movie about this. Like who want more of this kind of video.
Unfortunately most factories do not allow filming. Here is another one though : ua-cam.com/video/JE925f_Pa6A/v-deo.html

Mobile homes are really great, but unfortunately they are rare in my country🇲🇾, and I don't know if they are sold or legal.

Great Video Alan. Always wanted to see the assembly process, thank you. What's the idea of what look like nets in the stockyard?
That is protection against hail.
Thought it may be. What happens when it leaves the factory and someone buys it and gets caught in a hail storm? Just a thought .
That is a risk!
Great video, but why don't they get together with Fiat and have a longer chassis supplied at start, rather than adding extensions.
Wow, there's so much manual labor going into it. Now I understand why they used to cost so much even before they started booming in popularity. Nowadays the margins are quite a bit higher because the demand is also high, but I was expecting far more automated processes.

And the Vehicle is a real junk..!
If you can visit the assembly area of a campervan will be fantastic as it is a closed space and the installation should be more difficult.
Beurifull

Thanks Curt - very nice to read. These vans could be available soon in North America following the Hymer Group's purchase of Roadtrek!
Great documentary, except for the overload music at the end
Unfortunately music was necessary to drown out the background music for copyright reasons.
I wonder what the GVWR is on this because that chassis looks very weak for such a long motorhome. It does appear to be excellent build quality though.
All vans shown here are 3,500kg!
my dream would be to work in a place like this u.u
They are looking for staff, if you have the skills and speak German why not write to them?
Nice job can you get one of these in the US?
Bad choice of music, otherwise good vid
What's the name of the music, please?
Pisco Sour by Gunnar Nielsen.
@@VanlifewithAlan Thanks!
William Tell Overture
You've never been to northern Indiana?
So the motorhome wall not insulated at all
It is insulated.
what is so modern Alan? forgot your glases at home?damn..
Now you can see why it's difficult to repair any thing you can't get to it
Nice video but oh god the music spoils it.
its not just the music ( that crashes in on the cut at max volume then dips to nothing !) its everything ! that opening piece to camera was like a sketch from the fast show !! lol
I agree.. worst music ever 😳
Yeah, the music choice was a poor one. Sorry. Really enjoyed watching it with the music muted though.
Stupid comment.
Drallblackrugbyplaye....what is ?
Wennabego in USA is the world modern Facilityand they Do all There part 😉
That doesnt look very waterproof to me. And so much plywood, cant they use lighter material?
One can always finder lighter material - the question being will the buyer pay for it?
An interesting video, only spoiled by the really annoying music, why you added that I don't know.
Most modern produktion... You just assemble... Where you make your floors????
Did the narrator get board half way through it was good up until that point then that music.
Interesting, that's a lot of stockpiled vehicles.
1:33
It's clearly a pissed-off look
Very nice but "Lone Ranger" music gotta go!
I disagree. The music gives it it's elegance.
And without it, there might not have a video at all. I needed to mask the radios in the background for copyright reasons.
ich habe mich mehr auf die Musik als auf das Video konzentriert,... sorry.
working motorhome in Dubai

good video but music suck
