Just got mine today and I came on here to see what people think and I found this video. I'm glad you made it because I'm a subscriber your videos are great. I really like the hbc flex. It shoots really, really well and I like how the shot surprises you to beat target panic. It is my first hinge and I shot like 100 shots with it. I suggest whoever hasn't shot one to practice with a string or something.
The ultraview releases are way too long for me and that's the problem most people have with them. The long neck they have changes your anchor point drastically. Keep up the great videos man.
Thanks buddy! Ive been enjoying mine throughly for several weeks now. Its really helping me with my button releases as well. Super pumped for 3d season!!
Another great hinge is the Cater Total Control. It has two adjustable moons. You can set it up with a click or not. The two moons allow very custom settings for hot to cold and the amount of movement between the click and the break- long or short depending on your style. The ability to hold a longer draw time allows for longer more controllable execution. My highest scores were always with the Total Control. But, at the same time I love the feel and break of the truball ht.
Thank you! Ill definitely check that one out!!
The original ht is also a great release. A hinge is a good way to help retrain your mind to remove that terrible “ virus” named TP. I’ve hunted with the truball ht and loved it. After one learns to use and CONTROL a hinge another great option is a quality thumb button style. Your best bet, IMO, when setting up a thumb is to learn to lock the thumb on the knob and then pull thru the shot cycle with your back muscles ONLY! Do not move the thumb. The minute amount the release moves in your hand should cause the pressure to build in the thumb onnhe knob until it fires. Like pulling thru last 10 thousandths on a hinge. Same thing only different mechanics. Your explanation here was awesome and hopefully will help those poor souls afflicted with this terrible dreadful “ virus”. 👍👍🏹👀👀
Thanks for the thoughtful response Tim! Thats exactly what Im trying to do. Its been a process, im working through it slowly. Biggest issue I have now is accuracy it longer ranges with the hinge. Im slowly working my way back in yardage.
I heard the magic words "slow it down". Great video.
Im all in baby 🤣🤣
I'm at the same point in my archery endeavor. Used an index my entire life, then bought and played with a couple of handhelds beginning of last year. I love handhelds but for hunting you need to choose the right release; usually it's based from your past experiences and situations. I hunted with a thumb button but I going to transition to a hinge, I feel more in control with them. I've got a couple handhelds if you want to borrow and test. Great content as always.
Thats why im doing it now. I have several hand held buttons and hinges now im testing to see what I could really use come deer season. I havent shot my index in 2 months now. Just focusing on switching and trying to perfect the shot discipline. I appreciate the offer to lend me some to try but id prefer not too with something like that. Wouldn't wanna break them or wear them out but thank you so much for the offer.
Great video man I got the same release for the same reason, thank you for your informative video it helps a lot
Hey man! Glad it was helpful 🤙🤙
Great video. I am trying to add one of these to my kit, just having a hard time finding a M in black. Great stuff, thanks for the video!
I got mine from Mikes archery in Ohio off amazon. Shipped fast
Greetings from Chicago.
Born and raised in Poland. I really enjoy your reviews on all hunting gears.
Hey!! Where at in Poland? My great grandparents came from poland!!
@Michigan Great Outdoors I came from south east part of country.
The town is Greboszow small place. The biggest city Tarnow.
It's about 40 miles away from Krakow.
Great to know people that love hunting and have same blood. Can't wait for more videos. I really enjoy the brotherhood of big game hunters.
@PL Ram oh wow, looks like farm country! Cool stuff! Thanks for joining the channel my friend!
Great review! Been eyeing this release for a while. The wrist lanyard is a huge plus for me as I lost one not too long back. Just an added piece of insurance for me. Appreciate your review.
Thank you! I love this release. Been using it exclusively now for a while.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I’ll be buying this when I can!
Sounds like a Polish Problem lol - Can’t wait to meet you at TAC - Good luck !!!
Probably 🤣 hopefully I can make it!!
I have shot the wrist strap releases all my life as well. Been drooling over the Ultraview button release. Just not sure if it's worth the $ right lol
Its a nice looking release for sure!!
Does it have the hook to auto reset or held in place with a magnet?
That jaw that the hook rides in is spring loaded and will reset the jaw but u have to reset the hook. Its super simple to do in one hand operation.
Are you shooting the click that’s comes factory or the fast click ?
Factory click but I sped it up.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I didn’t think it had a click adjustment I’m just trying to decide on a hinge never had one
@jasonparks389 its one of the best hinges out IMO. You make it hotter and the click comes faster
Bro just go back to the wise guy! I can see this being catastrophic on a big buck for you
I think if you practice enough it will be ok. But maybe ill defeat this target panic by then.
