You Guys are a hoot, great videos and proving Sarcasm and a sense of humor will help you get through a long trip like you seem to be on. Quick question what year is Maxie, I after a new tug.
Interesting to see your view on the dmax i have a 2020 model the last of the old style so far I'm very happy only done 22000 but i get about the same fuel consumption as you in both cases which is great with today's fuel prices all the best Ron
Good to hear a positive review on a well used Dmax. Mine has a Norweld tray and canopy with a Pedders GVM upgrade to 3.45t. Set up for touring, but not with a van. Tents or motels is my accommodation.
@@elnick.adventures Pedders kit seems ok. I got it prerego for federal compliance. Its firm but suited to the weight. I’ll take it in for a service check shortly to make sure all the bolts are torqued correctly and its optimal for the canopy on the back and a bullbar on the front. With at GVM upgrade also required higher load rated tyres. I’ve got Falken Wildpeak AT3w 165/70r17
OMG, I know they are reliable, but you could put 1.3 ton in the car and tow 3.5T with that little standard motor, not in a snowman's chance in hell that could do that safely and reliably. My brother-inlaw just purchased a Mux and it's a great little car, towing his 19' caravan, but 70kph max on medium to big hills, just far too gutless. Wait a minute, you said it was totally reliable but pop out 2 near the end. But in the end, it has done everything you want and you both love it, and that's all that matters.
Hey George it is crazy they let you Cary this much weight with little car. Might have to upgrade;) it has done everything we have ever wanted I guess that’s all that matters. Thanks for watching 🤠👍
Giddays Guys, I think it would of been good to give us all a brief run down on the mods you have down on Maxi Like LSD ,Diff locks diff breathers tyres ect. Over all the D-Max are pretty reliable rig, you GCM upgrade is quiet big but she still handled it Van and all and you guys every where and I mean Everywhere so it has served you all well.
Thanks Rob thanks for watching! We have done a full rundown of the car in a previous rep if you want to see what we have done to Maxy. Thanks for all your support 👍
Great honest episode, thank you. Yes Nick, I did get a fright at your thumbnail. Elenya, surely you are 40 weeks by now, aren't you? Love you all, and great big and little boys.🤗🤗🤗🤗
@@elnick.adventures Feeling much better thanks, starting to walk better, and hopefully sometime in the new year be able to get away if only for a short break. Trip to WA put off until next year sometime, hopefully??
What should I be paying for a gvm and gcm upgrade I just had all new Dobbison suspension installed front and rear , thanks love your videos and big congratulations on the new addition to the cast . Oh yeah did nicks cloths get snow dropped off the line I miss the papa Smurf shirt . Cheers Mike
Hahahah thanks Mike he’s working on a pupa Smurf shirt😂 we payed around 5-6 k for ours but that was a gcm as well just for reference regarding price. Thanks for all your support Mike 👍
Hey guys, what location did u get the gvm and gcm upgrade ? Im in coffs harbour and want to try and get it done pre rego ? Love your vids. You have inspired me and the wife and kids to hit the road for our big lap. Thanks
Good feedback guys. Can I ask? How many kms on it now and how many kms between services? My 2015 Dmax is up to 168 000km and not missed a beat with 5000km oil changes. Thanks.
Hi Guys I have been following you for a while now, but never left a comment. When you mentioned you did a Lovells GVM Upgrade, I thought I would ask now that you have travelling with it for a while, if you are happy with there system, as I am thinking of using them when I purchase my new Ford Ranger early next year. I was also wondering what brand canopy you have and are you happy with. I have been very much enjoying your episodes, they are very down to earth, keep them coming and stay safe on your travels. Cheers Peter
Hey Peter thanks for commenting and following our travels! We are very happy with the lovells kit we had a ARB kit in before and think lovells is better. They aren’t to bad of a ride when vehicle is unladen and a nice ride when the weight is packed on! We went with lovells as at the time they were nearly the only ones offering a gcm upgrade aswell. But very happy with the suspension. The canopy was from a local sheet metal manufacture called Hastings sheet metal. Very happy with the canopy and surprised it hasn’t cracked earlier to be honest! Thanks for watching Peter
@@elnick.adventures Hi Guys thankyou very much for your reply its very much appreciated. I agree with you, to what I can find they are still the only ones that do a GCM upgrade as well. Cheers Peter
i don't know about alloy getting softer with welding i thought that too but i did some welding on an alloy fuel tank but since welding i have been unable to drill the tank so much that i will have to cut that segment out and drill a new piece of metal before welding it in place.
Or? I was hoping to see a baby! Can’t wait to see the new little fella! Followed from the start and I’m going to be very surprised if a girl, but Elanya, carries same as last times, another boy, so as most women say, I got a dud, can only produce either boys or girls, haHa! love yas
I have a 2018 and it has 101000kms on the clock. Only issue I've had is a dpd sensor failure. Covered by warranty. Touring set up lile this video minus the boat put a james baroud in its place. About 10-11 litres per hundred.
We have an Isuzu MUX and a 19 foot van for 4 years now and couldn’t be happier either, Elenya is right, it’s so reliable! Thanks for the review guys 😊
They sure are Celia! Thanks for watching! 👍

Haha nice one on the Canterbury stubbys mate 👌
Thanks again!
Hang onto it, GCM upgrades no longer comply with the ADR’s since 2018.
Ohh really !! We will be! Hard to take all the gear without it. Thanks for watching !

Yeah right. Hope that is the case !! Will make the canopy stronger! Thanks again John
Ohh God….Absolute Gold “No cracks a good Crack”. Love ya work Nick 👍
Hahah thanks brad. Thanks for all your support🤙
With the gvm/ gcm upgrades what upgrades if ant were done with brakes cooling axel upgrades?
Just the suspension and side mirrors. That’s all👍
How many kms on maxxie? When they do a gvm upgrade, do they physically change anything on the vehicle or is it just to get more money out of you?
They change all the suspension components and some of the indicators. And yes they do get more money out of you ! Thanks for watching 🤙
How have you gone getting the 3 car seats across the back row? Toight fit?
Hi Amy (: it is a tight fit but works, thankfully 😂🤠
great episode guys
i hope your new caravan can take the same punishment as your last one!!!
So do we hahah otherwise we will give it back !! thanks for watching guys. 👍
