I think it was Roothy who did a self saucing choc pudding in the camp oven - can recommend. Cheapest packet choc cake mix - mixed up as per directions. The (clean) tent peg in a drill trick makes an excellent beater. Add some chocolate pieces through the mix (caramello is great😋). And put into an oven bag. Seal it well then place into a camp oven of just simmering water (water needs to cover most of it). Cook for as long as the packet suggests. Can serve with cream or custard. You can't burn it (unless the water boils dry🤣).
A good way to moderate the heat elenya, get Nick to dig a hole😂 , dimensions of campy , light sprinkling of coals , place campy in, light sprinkling of coals on campy lid , fill whole campy with dirt , check every 20 mins especially with puff pastry, use a little oil in the campy before placing pie in campy (won't stick) , can smell the cooking process, especially if burning 😂, you'll need a campy with wire handle sticking out from dirt to lift out, simply brush dirt off with Bannister brush or broom, yummo, experiment with how many coals you use , will not burn as you can control heat being buried , can shovel coals around campy when in hole , cakes, meats, dampers, bread's, a lot of controlled heat also depends on fire woods( red gum the best) cos its not so hot, heavy dense wood just use less coals , too hot , you'll master it elenya😂 easy peasy 👍👌 . Simple and very easy pie to cook in the camp oven 2 to 3 cans of butter chicken in to a baking dish and put puff pastry over the top for a lid it's very quick and simple to do and you can't burn the bottom pastry because there is none and it's great for cold nights

well you two we have just watched your best and worst recipe show, we just love sitting down after tea and watching an episode or two, only problem is we end up going to bed with saw jaws from laughing so much, we just love your vids, anyhow we have a recipe that is unwreckable so give it a try, we have been cooking this for the last 15 years in all corners of Aus. DRUNKEN SCONES 3 cups SR flour 60gms margarine 1 cup sultanas & raisins as well if you like, soaked in cup of port, rum or sherry or whatever you fancy Soak the fruit for a minimum 3 hours but the longer the better, probably no more than a month ½ cup white sugar ½ cup rum or use ½ cup of whatever left over alcohol you use to soak the fruit Spray oil-Use lid as scone cutter Rub margarine through flour. Add sultanas and sugar then add enough rum to attain a workable soft dough. Knead then flatten out to approx 20mm, cut with a scone cutter or the lid of your spray oil. Place in heated camp oven on trivet (both sprayed with oil prior to going on coals) and cook for 15 minutes with lid on then check if cooked.

Bless your sweet hearts… My mothers cooking skills when I was a kid seem to be very similar. Sweet and sour snags, apricot chicken, chow mien and bolognaise. Seem to be the only things that didn’t get burnt… well not every time 😂 If it gives you hope at all her cooking skills improved vastly once she hit her 40’s 🤣 Keep up the great work guys. Well Elenya you are just going to love this, my wife was getting ready to cook tea and I am sitting here looking for your full recipe to your loaded dogs from episode 58 and we got so involved with this ep and were both laughing all the way through it, that when she went back to the tea, she had burnt the crap out of the bottom of the pot she had left on the stove, now stop laughing and could you please send us the full recipe for the loaded dogs
Love your cooking segments! We tried the butter chicken one that you made and it was good but our new favourite is beef massaman curry using the Ayam curry paste. We cook up some diced potato and carrot first then add the beef a little later. Serve it up with rice and some natural yoghurt. It’s super simple and so delicious!
