About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.
Most beautiful and down to earth couple on the internet
🙏🙏
Both happy and natural.
So happy to see the light and smiles on your faces again, you both look much happier been back in Australia 😌
Hey it is good to be back that’s for sure!! We feel 100% better now 😊 thanks so much for watching 🙏😊
Love your Australian content. I love how you’re so honest to the viewers. It’s not all glamour when touring and you’re the only couple that doesn’t pretend like it’s all fun with no bad times. Keep doing what you’re doing. I love my touring and next trip in a couple of weeks is western Victoria to Nullarbor with the goal to camp on a cliff on the Bight.
Appreciate your kind words 🙏 we recently stopped at the bite! It was our 3rd time and still mind blowing!
Australia the best place to explore on earth. Great to see you two back travelling Australia again
If you hadn't told us about the 'dog bowls', I'm sure we wouldn't have known. Cute & brilliant 👏. Beautiful camping spot.❤
Not sure what it is but you guys look so happy travelling in our home, Australia. Glowing my friends, absolutely glowing! 🥰
Thanks guys good to see you enjoying Australia again ❤
It’s good to be back Kim 🙏😊 thanks for watching 😊
Great episode as always, so good that someone’s finally shown the way to the tip the straight forward way. Really enjoyed your overseas episodes but it’s fantastic to see you both so happy & relaxed in Aus ☺️
Thank you Jack and Meghan for bringing back old memories I did the top end in October 2019 is plenty of people still around on the track at that time of the year
Thanks
🙏 Thanks so much Phil!
In all honesty it hasnt changed much up there since we did our trip in our troopy 30 years ago.....the road is in better shape, but then youre right at the end of the season and its kept pretty well graded. It was beautiful to see Fruit Bat Falls again through your eyes, and dont worry, when we were there the camping areas were packed and there were hundreds of us swimming, no crocs. Still one of my favourite places, thank you for taking me there again. Im getting a little teary from the nostalgia.
ETA: Having watched all the way to the end, you guys continue looking after yourselves. It is awesome seeing you look so relaxed and happy again.
Welcome back guys, two things if your canopy has a vent open it up will create positive pressure and stop the dust, the other is I have the same setup I lined the tailgate with a sheet of food grade stainless easy to clean and prepare food on……cheers guys and safe travels 🍺🥂
@29:12. RE the water tank. I think it will be fine up there... I would also make a smaller tank, strap it to the Bullbar ( under the rego plate ), with tie down straps, if you need to use the winch, you can undo the straps, take water tank off etc etc. I would also spray the tanks Black, the sun will attract to the tanks, you'll get warm water.. maybe even a nice shower from it. We did exactly what you two are doing 23 years ago, we were your age and in a spanking new 2.8 DSL Lux. Really enjoying watching your adventures :))) Have fun! regards JT~
Amazing to see you guys thriving again. You have made me feel excited again for hitting the road again in February Thanks for sharing a great episode
So great to see you guys out and about again. Always fun to follow along. Hope to get up there one day too. Looks amazing!
Thanks guys. Long time follower, first time commenting. I had always been daunted by other youtubers showing how rough the tracks were up to the Cape. Thanks for showing it can be done in an 'average type' vehicle. (and all the King gear. 😅) Drive safe on your long way home. And don't forget to eat! 😊
Hey Andrew, thanks for commenting mate! Yep it was easy as to get up to the tip. Was such an adventure!
You guys are so lucky to be able to travel like you do. Good for you for having a crack and putting it out for all us to see. Greta work keep it up.
Thanks for watching Peter 🙏😊
Impressrd with your journey in a dual cab ute and canopy fully fitted.
Beats complicated camper trailers or caravans.
Simple and effective.
You guys seem to be best i have seen doing the cape trip.
Best wishes.
Peter.
Really enjoy your videos guys, so good to see young real people on UA-cam, Jack is not a wannabe Hardman and Megs isn't a showpony barbie, very refreshing indeed. I live in FNQ on a couple of hundred acres on the tablelands and your coverage of the region is brilliant, keep having fun and travel safe.
Good to see your new rig made it with no hassles, thanks for taking us along on your journey
It did such a great job hey!! Thanks for watching 👍🙏😊
Harry, Hank, Hadleigh, HUMBERTO!! Herman, Hero. And it's Bon Apetite!. Really great having a video of this run - thanks!
How good!! We didn’t quite know what to expect from the Cape before we’d been, but fell in love with it immediately…It’s such an epic adventure 😀
Great to see you back on the trails in Australia. Looks like a great trip! Stay safe, and keep well,
I can not believe it i was only up there 10 weeks ago and it was packed but still enjoyed it,and glad to have you back in Australia love watching your vids❤️
Honestly couldn’t believe how deserted it was!
Glad to see you both doing what you love,we think you are the most amazing couple, we look forward to watching your videos every week stay safe on the road and we are looking forward to see what’s coming next
We really enjoyed your OS content but Great to see you back down under and looking so much healthier and more relaxed 😊
I love watching your vlogs and when I am feeling really depressed you both make me laugh at a very touching moment and I feel like I have left my bad place and joined you with your exciting adventure. SORRY IF YOU THINK I’M INTRUDING🤔🤔🤔. Absolutely love you two I could watch you all the time it’s good therapy. Have a fantastic time travelling can’t wait for your next vlog.😊🤗😀😃👋 I’m from Tasmania!
Great to see you well and happy 😊
Thanks so much! 🥰🙏🏼
Love that you are being yourselves in this vid so much more relaxed. I love the crazy cause it’s natural. And I’m going to get dog bowls like that cause it the best idea ever and they are so cute. 😂.
So good to see you both happy and relaxed again. Hope the trip home goes smoothly
You two are awesome 😁.
Love your content.
Keep the giggles coming, it also shows you are both modern day explorer's who take the time to take us viewers on your amazing journey.
Did the trip to the Tip a few years ago with my wife and kids, great times, happy memories. Like you, we had those same campsites to ourselves. No flat tyres though….. Looking forward to doing it again one day, just my wife and I.
Terrific episode guys, I love that you are both so down to earth and just explain how it is. Well done ! Thankyou !
I always love watching you vlogs. The pig head was creepy
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed this one ☺️
How creepy was it hey! 🫣
Great that you two are back doing a road trip and you picked such a perfect spot- 'THE CAPE'! AWESOME AND THX
As usual love your work. Back in the eighties the dirt started at mt carbine. Camp anywhere near Palmer river goldfields just take care👍😎
Great adventure - thanks for taking us along on the journey!
Thanks for joining us Mark! 😁
Afternoon Guys. Wow, you too are back to yourself again that's so good. Loving Cape York series ❤️
That small shelf just behind your seats looks a tad dangerous to me. You wouldn’t want to hit your head on it. Just looking out for you guys.
Glad to see you back on the road. 👌
Appreciate your concern Chris! Definitely agree with you there, hopefully the end of the video makes you smile 😆
How cool was that! Goes to show what can be done with the basics. So jealous 😊. Cheers and safe travels
Great episode guys, and OMG you got so lucky with the road conditions. We tried to do the cape in 2021 in our Sprinter and had to turn back, the locals were saying the roads were the worst they had ever seen them. We really want to go back - but it will probably be a few years away. Take care on the road to WA.
Great watching you guys and your adventures, Well done on you both on a very enjoyable moment 👍
Thanks for showing us the cape . We are looking
Forward to seeing the long drive home stay safe.
Thanks for watching Paul! See you again next Sunday 🩵
Seems like a great time to visit with no crowds 🙌🏻
Soooooooo glad you guys are back in OZ. Great to see your energy back! Another fantastic video and amazing sights. You guys are truly the best by far! Safe journey and see you soon.
cheers
joe
Great episode! We so enjoy watching you and your experiences and, being honest about feeling a bit unsure when being so remote just. Great content. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Thanks - really enjoyed your lighthearted trip up to The Tip. We were there in 2022 so it was so good to see all those familiar places. We have spent a good part of the last 2 years on the road in a Prado with a tent with a vestibule, and a 3x3 gazebo (with sides) and yes we had a folding picnic table that we used a lot! So …. question, how did the PortaLoo go inside the twin-cab? Happy travels!
Yeah, that red dust never really washes out.
🥲
What a great adventure. It’s good to see you two enjoying yourself with just basic stuff. No need for 100k touring setups. I’m looking forward to more episodes.
Absolutely no need for the 100k setups that’s for sure. Although they would be nice 😂😂
Great video guys good to see you back in the Red dust and the car going ok all the best Ron
It's amazing to see you all doing so well once more. I am now even more eager to travel in February because of you. Regards for sharing this fantastic episode.
Good to see you guys on the road. Safe trip back to Perth.
Thanks! Another awesome video - great start to the day to sit down & watch your video!!😘😘
🙏
I would think that the reason it was so quiet, so hot, good roads, is that the tourist season generally finishes around late September - early October, Before the change of season. It's a pity that you didn't get into Elliott Falls, but I agree, discretion is the better part of valour. It's a pity you didn't have time to explore the rest of the tip. Next time. Re changing wheels - if it will hold air, pump the tyre up first, then you don't have to jack the car up so much.
Good to see you're back in Australia 👍. Didn't tune in while y'all were "overseas".
Big fan of EcoFlow products, and good to see I'm not the only one that uses folding camp chairs to support solar panels. If you find the Delta 2 is a bit lacking in power (if your useage increases), I upgraded from the D2 to the Delta 2 Max for our camping power needs. A bit heavier (50lbs), but available power is much better.
Ditto on moving that shelf by your heads. Noticed that hazard right off the get go.
It was great to see you guys make it to the Cape. It looked spectacular. I did think Jack was taking a chance by saying that the car was doing well, (jinxed it?, Tyre!) Anyway, I look forward to seeing your journey back to W.A. Cheers Tony
I agree! The dog bowls are cute. What a GREAT camping idea!
Great video guys! I feel like you are yourselves again and the video reflects that.
We are converting a mini bus atm and know that wherever we can’t go with the bus we can refer to your vid’s for for our future remote 4wd adventures
Great video guys. Reminds my of our travels around Australia 🇦🇺 🎉😅greetings from Germany!🇩🇪
Great to see big smiles again guys! Can't beat a luxi. I have a '97 4x4.
Loveeee the older style ones!
Love what you guys do. You are both down to earth keeping it simple
Great to see you back!! You both seem a lot happier.. love the dog bowls 🐶😂😂
Hi guys good to see you back travelling Australia thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching Sonya! Hope you have a good day ☺️
Migaloo !!
Great to See you guys out and about again !!
Enjoy !
Great trip. Good to see it from a different point of view. Most of the Cape York I've seen have always been through the OTT. and the hard wheeling. It's good to see it via the PDR. As mostly what I do is touring. It it weren't for the Crocs, the beaches at the Cape would be far busier. They are some of the best beaches in Australia IMO.
Still think the troopy was a better set up, unless you're not planning on spending any time in wet areas....being stuck up in the RTT, or having to get up in there during a rainstorm
Really good video. Down to earth no frills . Well done guys. How Australia is seen.
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 😄
Very cool places to see and stay. Funny to see such young people experience simple things for the first time.
Soo happy to see you guys camping again 🎉
another classic production guys and good to see your smiling happy faces, loved every minute & the Hi-Lux is doing it without any real drama's - the flat was just bad luck, the only change I would think about is swapping the wheels to steel when you get back to a major town👍👍Cheers
Stumbled onto this video. Looks really cool. I’m like Jack & get a bit nervous when out in the middle of nowhere too.
Great vid, I love the drone footage and all the commentary.
Safe travels & thanks for sharing 😃👍
Thanks so much for watching mate 🙏😊
that was fantastic. Good call not going to the waterfall after puncture. Very Sensible. Loved the dog bowls ,what a fantastic idea. I bet there will be a rush on them in Kmart🤣🤣🤣
This is what I like this channel. Basic and no BS.
By the way I did not watch your overseas vids. I like my greatest Aussie travels. Hope you enjoyed overseas. Welcome back to the backyard
Rooma
Bringing back memories of towing our Jayco Journey to the tip July last year - cool.
Welcome back guys, we missed you
My home, my grandad when he was young fulla missed the jardine ferry back in the day and he swam it , jardine river is infested with crocs
Hi Guys, love your vids. To significantly cut down on dust entering the back tray, it needs to be pressurised. Normally to do this a closable vent facing toward the front of the vehicie is installed on top and at the front of the canopy and left open of dusty roads thus pressurising the tray area as you move along. In your case it maybe difficult with all your stuff mounted on top. Maybe ARB may have an alternative option.
I have two hiluxes and absolutely love them. Great little 4wds. Glad you two are back just love your show
Very good cars!! Thanks for watching Kev.
I didn’t realise I could get to the cape in my Subaru XV, now I know.
Awesome trip, so beautiful
Great episode guys! No one on the beach to see Megan get stuck in the tire hole, but you show it, now 42k saw it.
Hey thanks Bert! It was a classic when she got stuck 😊😂😂
Thanks for sharing this nice clip. I wish you beautiful Week
Aww thank you for watching! Hope you have a great week too 🥰
Got the same kings draw setup with the fridge slide, I followed a video on UA-cam that modified the slide to act as a drop down slide. It’s a game changer you’ve gotta check it out
Ohh that would be so handy!!
Awesome video absolutely loved it ❤❤watched it on the big screen so different than watching it on my phone
Wow fruit bat falls absolutely stunning
love the dog bowls
😅😅😅 jacks face after tyre change
Definitely going to need new seals and rubbers on the cab that red dirt is a nightmare hopefully it didn't get into your kitchen stuff
Thanks for sharing your adventures you 2 are the BEST🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Look very nice we where there in October 1987 bogged a lot, things have changed a bit.
Love that Kings drawer extension table top! Great idea. You guys have fun wherever you go but it seems to me you love to live your lives in a permanently rushed state!! Hoping you slow down soon! Tip - did you know baby powder works a treat for sandy feet rather than baby wipes.
You had me laughing at the car without headlights. That is spooky. Possibly someone more scared than you playing mind games. Loved the pigs head....let's hope there's more... very entertaining.
I would have loved to have you in the canoe at Kenilworth when we paddled through the overhanging trees, a bloated bore floating in the river. There were 3 unsolved murders in the area. Made me think but never told my 2 boys with me.
We loved Picanniny Rest Area even though it’s not really a rest area it’s a first class free camp for the way up or back. It was so underrated on Wikicamps we thought something must have been wrong with it. We had it to ourselves also. No midges when we were there though. Shame about Fruitbat and Eliot Falls. Scrubby Creek isn’t too bad and the OTT between there and the Falls is Ok - but get the judgement call for sure (we dragged our van through there a few months ago). You are right there are heaps of examples of people swimming at Fruitbat Falls but we did see a report of a croc siting which closed it for a while. Shame. But there were tons of people when we were there and not so many at Eliot Falls and the Saucepan. It was a flying trip but as you say - have to do it. Stay well.
You guys are real, thanks for the content
Great video guys. Was good to see the trip to the cape wasn't as bad as some Utbers show. When did you do your trip? Due you have a travel map on your route ? Safe travels.
Awesome video my friend!
Love it 🍻
Just make sure that table for the cooker is secure when cooking.
Crossed the Jardine river by car with the army many years ago was awesome
No matter where you guys go, you always make it look amazing 🙌🏼
Thanks so much for watching!! It really was a beautiful place.
Awesome video guys! Rad to see another side of the cape other than the usual 4WD route. Keen to give this a go myself. Can't go wrong with a Luxxy guys, fellow Perth N70 owner myself. Love them, simple 4WDing. 🤙
On yas!! Straya. Loves it! About to set off on a journey too . Yay. My Hilux is called herbie the hilux. Kids named it lol. Thanks for the ep. Glad the car made it well. Such a nice place. Beautiful spots. Or jacks fav word. Incredible lol 🎉
Glad to see you guys back in Aus making more episodes 😁
Save travels back to WA
The ironic thing is yyhat there is that little island beyond 'The Tip' sign, so its not really the northernmost point. Doesnt really matter though.... the area is named 'Pajinka'.
You both seem a very happy couple enjoy life 😊
Love your thoughts on the difference between camping in the Ute with the rooftop and the troopy.❤
It's OK Megan, I won't peek. 😉🤞
You should call the Hilux after your favourite Australian town you've stopped on your travels 🎉
Hi guys....watching this vid, I feel like you guys are 'Back in the Saddle' & I'm luvin it...❤👍
