    I don't come across motors of that size. I'm curious about using an angle grinder versus a sawzall. Which one makes more dust? Or is there a cost differential in grinding wheels versus sawzall blades?
    Like hydraulic presses, not everyone has a band saw. I'd think a band saw would have a thinner blade, making less dust.

    • @scrapitall200
      @scrapitall200  2 дні тому +1

      Bandsaw would probably be the best.
      Sawzall can work but a lot of times the teeth from the sawzall blade will grab the copper and make a big mess. Smaller the teeth and bigger the wire is better.
      Idk if the grinder makes more dust than sawzall, but it definitely spreads it more.
      Hope that helps bud.

    I just scrapped out a 400lb motor I found on the side of the road. I got about $110 CDN of copper out of it and $30 in steel. My yard however pays 40c a lb for motors so I think I actually would have made $20 more to bring it in whole.

      @@newsweathertraffic18 wow, that’s a huge motor, especially to find like that. Awesome!
      I feel like with the bigger motors, so much of the weight is from the steel. Still was fun but I was definitely surprised by the results. Thank you for watching.

    They do not use shellac on motor windings. It's not waterproof and it's quite expensive. They use an epoxy based varnish.

    I was thinking because the script price be good for motors here is like 50 cents AUD a kilo in my neck of the woods. But working through your weight through prices here. Roughly $10 AUD different. I know in other parts of Australia like Melbourne you can get good price for shred but here even pay you unless it's commercial quantity and then it like 9 cents a kilo. Cheers Graham
