      Yup, I especially like, “you have to commit to swinging hard and fully through the ball”, so it goes further away and I have to chase it 50 yards.

    Excellent demonstration and explanation Alex on a simple bunker technique. I very much like the set up of the right foot pulled back and alignment to the flag with the weight forward. I do use an open club face on loose sand and then close the face slightly on compact sand. My problem now is not taking enough of a backswing and accelerating through the ball on the follow through. I'll get it together eventually! You always have a great contribution for us Alex! Thanks!!

    Alex i’m one of your longtime followers and was a little bit skeptical because your techniques seem too easy. But it is direct and it is working for me. Thanks again. I do have one question. What degree of loft would you recommend for most amateurs to get out of the sand. ?? I have both 56° and 60° available. Again, thanks

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  11 місяців тому

      Great to hear! It is sometimes annoying how simple is what we need. Myself included !!
      Unfortunately you just have to test and it depends on the bounce you have on each and the type of sand.
      Personally I 80% use and suggest 56• but that’s maybe more from never really having a 60 until a couple of years ago

    For a women with a slower swing speed, would you recommend using a gap wedge or sand wedge for most bunker shots? Thanks.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  9 місяців тому

      It depends on how the bottom of those wedges are shaped. Sand wedge has a rounded bottom called “bounce” this helps to not dig in too much.
      The others will probably do so.

    My course has received a lot of rain and the bunkers are firm. Any suggestions for hitting out of firm, wet, compact sand? I have closed the face slightly and use a 58* wedge with 10* of bounce but still have issues.

    Looks like a standard bunker shot technique. My problem is when I open the club face, it appears like a weird angle and I cannot hit my mark or maintain the proper depth of sand, especially in soft fluffy sand.

      Not really. I guess some relation to a couple of the cues. But S&T mainly highlights and goes further in what a lot of good golf swings do and should.

      Would really like to see your take on the S&T swing technique and its benefits. I play to a 9 and switching to this type of simplified method has substantially helped my ball striking and made me way more consistent throughout the bag. Even helps me with greenside bunkers which have been the weak link in my game. I am a subscriber. Much appreciate your instructional videos and your clear explanations of what you’re trying to teach us! Many thanks!
