How good are you from the sand? 👇Thanks for watching and being part of this great community! Lots have asked about wet or compact bunkers that are not so good. Yup, I especially like, “you have to commit to swinging hard and fully through the ball”, so it goes further away and I have to chase it 50 yards.
😂
I've never seen a sand shot I couldn't skull across a green. I'll try anything, maybe this will help.
Alex has helped me a ton with my sand game.
@@willterry9662glad to hear it!
This could well be what you need :) ⛳️👍
Excellent demonstration and explanation Alex on a simple bunker technique. I very much like the set up of the right foot pulled back and alignment to the flag with the weight forward. I do use an open club face on loose sand and then close the face slightly on compact sand. My problem now is not taking enough of a backswing and accelerating through the ball on the follow through. I'll get it together eventually! You always have a great contribution for us Alex! Thanks!!
Thank you kindly and sounds like a longer smoother tempo will help also. Let us know how you get on!
❤ It. Thanks for helping someone who struggles in the sand.
You are so welcome and hopefully not much longer:)
I tried this yesterday and it really helped! Thank you!
Thanks I'm gonna try it.
For a women with a slower swing speed, would you recommend using a gap wedge or sand wedge for most bunker shots? Thanks.
It depends on how the bottom of those wedges are shaped. Sand wedge has a rounded bottom called “bounce” this helps to not dig in too much.
The others will probably do so.
Thanks ❤ I will try this out
Hope you like it!
Logical and well thought out
I’ll try it out today
Cheers and let us know how you get on.
This morning I tried this out and folks it works.
Work wonders. In 5x, Out 5x…..Tried it on 1/7…came out beautifully.
Fantastic well done! 🏌️♂️👍
How about a video on a 30-40 yard bunker shot. Next to the green bunker shots are simple by comparison.
Alex i’m one of your longtime followers and was a little bit skeptical because your techniques seem too easy. But it is direct and it is working for me. Thanks again. I do have one question. What degree of loft would you recommend for most amateurs to get out of the sand. ?? I have both 56° and 60° available. Again, thanks
Great to hear! It is sometimes annoying how simple is what we need. Myself included !!
Unfortunately you just have to test and it depends on the bounce you have on each and the type of sand.
Personally I 80% use and suggest 56• but that’s maybe more from never really having a 60 until a couple of years ago
Great tip. Eager to try it out...soon.
👍⛳️
Do you have a video which counters the ball initially going straight and then fading off to the right?
Does anyone know if a huge bounce like the the Cleveland Smart sole works or makes it much much easier?
You are the BEST that I have ever seen👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My course has received a lot of rain and the bunkers are firm. Any suggestions for hitting out of firm, wet, compact sand? I have closed the face slightly and use a 58* wedge with 10* of bounce but still have issues.
Don’t dig feet in. Firm up arms a little and try chipping feel a little more
I tend to hit the ball directly most of the time (using various techniques) and not sure how this technique addresses that issue.
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks. This help me a bunch, I was doing it all wrong.
Glad to hear it!
My issues are with deep greenside bunkers with very little or no sand in them & so you must get the ball up fast !
Bedankt
Thank you 🏌️♂️👍
So, where is the low point? Are you hitting ball first or sand first? I can't really tell how this is different than a pitch shot you might make from the grass where you have to jump the bunker to a pin just on the other side. Are they really the same shot?
Stand open and make a golf swing. Gives you more height on the shot and more backspin also.
Excellent thanks
Another brilliant video, thanks mate.
The GREATEST video 👍👍👍👍
Yeh tell me when we have heavy wet sand. I have to dig the ball out to get it out and stay on the green
easy to say this, you want to try to get out of the bunkers at my (expensive), much lauded course on the Gower in Swansea. They've been terrible for years.....
If the ball is up against the bunker face how dose it work
Same really. Just open face and softer arms and wrist
Worst part of my game is the sand i try an play away from it LOL thanks for the tip i will try it this weekend new sub here
Looks like solid consistency advice and I'll give it a go, but it sure seems like he hit that last shot about 40 yards?
Nope 😝 was the same as others, not a short shot but some green to carry too. The acceleration and sound is evidence that it was spanked and spinners:)
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf It was obviously an awesome clean strike, but I get nervous when the wedge hits sand that close to the ball in greenside bunkers is all. Thanks for the tip (and comment).
@@daveboo7002 I actually just recalled that I was a little frustrated after that one because it almost went in and finished a few inches… didn’t have camera on it lol 😂
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf Same green you were aiming at? 🤣🤣🤣
j/k, leave it to me to comment on the one that was almost perfect!
Great, “feel,” lesson. Counter-intuitive. But, I need counter-something. What I’m doing ain’t getting it done.
If you give me fluffy sand I nail hit. If you give me hard beach sand I'm toast.
Looks like a standard bunker shot technique. My problem is when I open the club face, it appears like a weird angle and I cannot hit my mark or maintain the proper depth of sand, especially in soft fluffy sand.
You might be adding too much shaft lean. Lower hands at address and that will open face
Stack and tilt?
Not really. I guess some relation to a couple of the cues. But S&T mainly highlights and goes further in what a lot of good golf swings do and should.
Would really like to see your take on the S&T swing technique and its benefits. I play to a 9 and switching to this type of simplified method has substantially helped my ball striking and made me way more consistent throughout the bag. Even helps me with greenside bunkers which have been the weak link in my game. I am a subscriber. Much appreciate your instructional videos and your clear explanations of what you’re trying to teach us! Many thanks!
How do I subscribe ?
To the channel? It’s in bottom right of a video. Or visit the website:)
Thanks for the video. It would be helpful if you showed the correct swing more than twice. Most of your video is spent showing what not to do, negative reinforcement. If you spent the majority of the time showing the correct swing it would reinforce the positive. Thanks!
60 % of the time, it works 100%
The text covers the ball.
The subtitles are in the way of seeing what you're trying to show us.
turn off CC at bottom of window
Die eingeblendeten Texte immer genau vor dem Ball, dass man nichts sehen kann. Sonst ein gutes Video.
Sorry
The lesson would have been much better if the written words were not in the way most of the time keeping observers from seeing how the club is to enter the sand. Luckily I had seen enough demonstrations to know what he was showing.
Just hit it
Why does it take 7 minutes to explain this?…..
Dude, I feel your pain they gotta make their money too, but you have a choice to listen to it or not
The on screen comments interferes with the visual aspects of the lesson.
Sorry
The most guaranteed way to get your ball out of the bunker is to pick it up and drop it outside the bunker. 😁
The subtitles completely obscure the ball. Has nobody noticed this?
It's so spiteful, because the video should be made up front to show better how he gets the ball out of the bunker. Now I need to learn from the words instead of the movements and stand.
Sorry
1 minute of instruction in a 7 minute video.
Yeah I agree…always too much talking haha
the subtitles ruins the lesson
So you turn them off?
Spend more time telling us how to do it correctly instead of spending so much time telling us what we are doing wrong. I know what I’m doing wrong. I just can’t stand spending so much time reinforcing what I’m doing wrong.
Fair enough but it’s also important to know the why it happens and if applicable. ⛳️👍
I have text all over
Fixed
You said a simple technique sorry but this is so complicated
Get on with it ffs
😂 utter nonsense
Really? 😭😆
