Factory33- Super clean workshop, full of Hurcos

Based in Carterton, Oxfordshire, Factory 33 was first established in 2015 as an independent CNC machining company. Driven to create an environment suitable for manufacturing components to fine tolerances, exceptional standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the workshop.
Early focus on the local scientific, medical, aerospace and motor racing manufacturers has enabled Factory 33 to become a business that is able to achieve attractive lead-times for medium and large production batches in all materials from aluminium, brass and copper, to stainless steel, titanium, Inconel and a variety of different plastics.
The excellent package of customer support that is offered by Factory 33 has allowed the business to grow steadily over the years. Investing initially in a Hurco VMX30Ti, 3 axis machining centre with additional 4th axis rotary table and a Hurco TM8i lathe, additional 3 and 5 axis machines have been added, as well as the latest EdgeCAM software from Hexagon. The most recent purchase is a Hurco VMX30UDi, 5 axis machining centre with linear scales and coolant through spindle as standard, as well as a 40 station swing-arm toolchanger. The direct-drive SK40, 15,000 RPM spindle can deliver 15kW of power and travels are 763mm x 508mm x 520mm. This model also incorporates the Max 5, twin-screen control.
Says Managing Director, Marcin Krzywina “We love the WinMax Control, we love the graphics. You can show not only solids, but also the toolpaths. It gives so much confidence for 5 axis programming”. Marcin is also a fan of the “Interrupt-cycle” button. Using this feature, he can stop any job mid-cycle and change tips or check tools. He is then able re-start the program exactly where it was stopped. This option can be used at any time whilst the program is running and works equally as well for NC and conversational programs.
Continued investment in high quality Hurco machine tools and an ongoing focus on accuracy and surface finish will enable Factory 33 to continue to add additional customers, as will the ability to offer design services, finishes and treatments and the creation of kits or assemblies. The sustained growth of Factory 33 has allowed additional services to be added that are tailored to customers’ needs.
