  • The cube twist or Rubics cube twist has many variables. This is a very basic version of the twist with most of the setup work being done at the vise with a hacksaw.

Thanks, I am sure there are times when waiting for material to heat can be educational, but It's not something I would want to watch on a video.

My cousin is a huge fan of board games (he has a 1938 Monopoly board framed on his wall) and he just got his first house with a fireplace. He was just asking me if I could make him a set of fireplace tools and I now know what I'm going to do for the handles. Thanks again, John. P.S. I know there's been some dispute about the music, but I like the way you use it in the sped up sequences of the videos. Ads a bit more interest and fun for the viewer in my opinion.

Great job on the video. I basically use the two wrench method for that also, but I never have two that are the same size, so I use adjustable wrenches. Watching it on the log at the end was a cool effect! 👍 👍 Keep up the great work

This was really cool! I can't wait to try it! In future you might prefer to show at normal speed the required steps while editing out the repetitive parts. In examples like this where you're repeating the same cutting on each side I don't think there's much value to showing the whole process.

Great interlude while filing. So much better than the pounding and thumping so many others use. Quick question tho. Do you have a video in your log that explains how to fix a axe eye that is not centred after the initial punch? Can’t seem to find one. Thanks again John and as always 👍🏼

Wouldn't a couple crescent wrenches be a better option? On account of them typically having wider jaws, as to not twist the individual cubes or die.

Ernõ Rubik isn't a Blacksmith, he is a Professor of Architecture, his original cube was 3 x 3. I would say this is traditionally a cube twist and has appropriated Rubik's name by accident. All that trivia aside, I do like the quality of your craftsmanship.
