- Square bar twists provide many different options in decorative iron work.. But there are other options in twists such as flat bar or angle iron.

I love how you keep the forgotten art alive

Sure am glad I found your channel!! You do an amazing job of showing and explaining things. There's only a few good channels anymore and sir, yours is one of them. Thanks for the content
Maybe a poker handle or a handle for some fireplace tool! That angle iron twist is kind of cool! I love your work and all the things you show and teach us on this channel!
You are a Master, John!
Thanks for all yoou do! Stay safe!
Very educational thanks
Christ Centered Ironworks also demonstrated that angle-iron twist in there video "Unusual Twists in Metal". That one is also worth watching!
The angle iron twist would make a good barn door handle.
It would indeed
I still need a shed handle for both sides before a big wind catching it and damage happen, Hopefully I have angle steel in my pile.
Thanks you Sir
Thank you and I picked the angle iron twist one only cause I got to try it with some I had found in the shop pile. I used it and made a handle where it was bolted down on each end. But thank you buddy and I have gotten to make hooks out of railroad spikes. That hsss been great therapy time for sure!
Always good to see new or different twists ! Always learning from your hard work !
Thanks again !
I was expecting an angle iron piece alrite but I was also convinced a flat bar would accompany it.
Thank you for that valuable lesson Master Blacksmith.
I can't wait until I get a chance to use some of your knowledge when I start classes with my local Master Blacksmith Liam Finin Christie.
Best of luck from the Green Island!
Thank you for sharing your expertise Sir!
You are welcome
the split twists would look good in places like rail supports or even chair or table legs i think
Another great video. Thank you for sharing.
Angle iron twist might make a good fire piker handle. Taco forge weld that angle iron onto a fire poker, as the handle.
Sure do enjoy the interesting new ideas, it all adds to the possibilities to sell another item.
I tried a basket twist on a bundle of 4 x 6mm round bar a few weeks ago - what a mess that ended up when I tried to untwist it! But at least I got the forge welds of the bars at the ends to work okay.!
It takes a good even heat and sometimes some serious fiddling to keep everything even.
Thank you for your channel, it's better than Alec Steele, cause you show us how to do it in a better way.
I am glad you like it.
Thanks
Very good job john I tried that angle twist it was great
we will make it work we are blacksmith
Thank-you for the video...
Cool
I would have been tempted to grind the larger side of the chiseled flat bar to match the off center cut, but thats just me
Unicorn Horn is what the angle iron twist reminds me of. Can you bring it to high heat and taper it out to a point?
interesting idea
Wind Chime, its hollow it might ring nicely. Thanks John.
Sounds like a good idea, sadly the test twist just goes thunk.
Looks like it would make a great icicle if you can forge weld the ends
It would be heavy in this size, but perhaps in a smaller angle.
Was this the first video John did not tell us to wear Safety Glasses?
probably not the first
I seen it on voodoo forge it is angle iron twist
you can use them for door pulls
Have you done a video on the twist that looked braided I'd like to know how ou done that
I have not. But it would be good one to do. It is three pairs of round bars, each pair is twisted the same direction, all three pairs ar forge welded at the ends only and then twisted back the other way.
Black Bear Forge sounds interesting only problem is I'm having a problem teaching myself to forge weld. Just can't get. I will though.
By the way. The angle twist. I figured it was angle @ first look.
Just thought I'd. Through that in.
Thank you for what you do.
Wind chime
I thought the angle iron was a square tube. I wonder what twisting a square tube would look like?
Square tube collapses in on itself, it can be an interesting effect..
speaking of twists: are you going to try making a drill?
