- My 1989 Chevrolet K1500 was long overdue for a tune up. In this video, I replace the spark plug wires, distrubitor cap and rotor. I also replace the wiper pulser board and some light covers.

TB injectors are easy to remove and rebuild. If needed. Did it on my ‘95 and it made a pretty big difference in fuel mileage.
Good common sense and well explained. Great job !!!
I am glad i ran into your videos. I have a 1988 k1500 and it is completely non running. I am going to tackle the tune up job this weekend. I plan on fixing it and giving it to my son when he turns 16. You have earned a subscriber my friend keep up the good work
Love you videos Maq. Redoing my dads old 89 now. He got it in 90 so at least know it the second owner lol your videos are very helpful. Thank you
You are very welcome and thank you.
Great video! Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge!
Thank you! I'm just a guy who likes the tinker in his garage. There's lots more to do too
Thanks for the tip @2:30
Good music to car tinker with. Very nice truck. I've got the same one but in way worse shape! good job on yours buddy
love the video, and the tutorials.
the white turns signal lens looks much better .
i have a 89 chevy Silverado 2500..
looking good 👍
Cool to see man! I've got a 1990 so this is super helpful. Great channel man
I sometimes think about converting mine to disc brakes ... I'm not sure how you feel about the original brakes, but they always seem soft to me and not that great
Thanks for the video , it's been years since I have done this lol I just bought a project truck 1989 blazer .
You make it very easy and descriptive new subscriber ‼️💯👏🏽🙌🏽💪🏽
You're awesome, keep up the great videos. I bought me a 90 k1500 and these videos are a huge help
Keep them coming my G
Nice truck, keep it up
Put a "Corvette servo" on the transmission. Shift's so much better 👍.
THX Maq The 89 CHEV is kinda easy to work on.. but you make it look easy
Thanks! The headers/exhaust manifold are next. They are "looking" like they will be a problem... Rust....
@@MaqsVids Ya Maq there will be one or more the just will be a bear to remove. spray the bolts a week befor you try and remove them. soak them that might help. Looking forward to the project ! THANKS.
THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE BACK PART OF THE CAB IS LOW. TRY TO PUT ON AT LEAST ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEW CAB RUBBER MOUNTS AND YOUR TRUCK WILL LOOK EVEN CLEANER!! REALLY NICE TRUCK ANYWAYS!!!!
Thanks! It's already in the plan.😉
One good thing about Ford…..distributor in the front.😊
Because they knew you'd constantly be changing distributors
Do you know by the chance the order the spark plug wires should be placed? Serious question
Would this could my truck not to start? It had a rough idle during these cold days
what size motor is it ? i have an 1989 chevy silverado & the motor looks like yours but i can't find anything telling me forsure what size it is . i've changed the distributor & plugs & wires etc out many times over the long years i've had it but now it will be running and just shut off & i change or clean the little box under the distributor & it will start back up until it just dies again .Thanks for any help you can give me
Have you tried setting/double checking the base timing is correct now that you have done the tune up?
😯 I haven't. Is the timing known to drift in these? I will check it out 🤔
Not sure if the timing drifts. I'm tackling the Distributor cap and rotor and plug wires this weekend on my 95 K1500. Since I don't know the history of the truck, I've figured I would just double check the timing after the tune up. I know there's a plug you must disconnect, I believe it's on the firewall for your 89 and it's under the glovebox for mine in order to due the timing procedure properly.@@MaqsVids
My car is a 1991 chevy s10
Did you end up finding some new screws? Mine are both missing one, and I can't find them anywhere!
I have not found any yet. But, stay tuned. I'm hoping to find some stainless steel ones.
@@MaqsVids LMC Truck is always a good option, I found some screws but trying to get money to get multiple things at once atm
Amazing work, Do you know the name of the manual in the video? I could use one.
hanes I'm pretty sure
Lol I do the same thing
