- Sometimes you don't need a special tool and things just come off easily. Other times it's a PIA. Try this first, all you need is a hammer, wrench, and flat head screwdriver.
After an hour off unsuccessful muckin around with with my 2005 Ford ranger fan, I watched this video and fire up the compressor and air chisel. 20 seconds and it was off. Unbelievable. Thanks!!!
Quick, simple, easy, thank you sir!!!
that looked like a lefthanded thread & the pulley is smooth.
Like ya Real Mechanic doesn’t need power tools!! Thanks
Best trick
El único video que me ayudo a diferencia del desarmador plano utilice 2 cinceles grande para vompensar el tamaño de la ranura pero si me funciono
So yours was grooved? Which means you turn right to loosen ?
Yep, you can see the grooves at 0:34 seconds
@@thegrage6123for clarity groves on the wheel for the cooling fan means you loosen to the right and no grooves means you loosen to the left?
What size wrench are you using?
your a funny guy
Just did it with a Napa Wrench. 22mm
I put thumbs down cause my radiator is now yours to own
No video is helpful about this specific thing this is insane. No one actually shows where anything is.
Where are you putting the screw driver please lol why no one shows that
You can’t see that the screwdriver is wedged behind the wheel that directly connects to the nut of the fan? If you can’t figure out where you are in this video you probably shouldn’t mess with your cooling fan. You’d probably hit the wrench the wrong way.
Also just watch like videos on replacing the belt alternator water pump and such and ppl will show alternative ways to get the cooling fan nut loose.
@@Filterfinderok yeah ok sorry about that I can see where you put it. I am trying to replace water pump yeah. I have 2002 ford ranger 3.0 what I’m spending days on now trying to simply remove exactly this fan clutch nut. I’m stuck on this step. Sorry I’m frustrated I’ve watched like 50+videos idk I can keep the pulley from spinning no matter what it’s wild. Are you really getting the screw driver in there deep?
If the fan clutch is on there very tight, I suggest removing the belt and using a strap wrench to hold the pulley. The design of the pulley does not allow for a fan clutch holding tool that would usually be used. Good luck with your water pump, that is the job I did while filming this video. Thanks for watching.
@@thegrage6123 ok I’ll look for that tool. Yeah my pulley is the absolute worst design. I lost great respect for vehicles in general because of this lol 😂. My pulley in indented inside about inch or more and only has 3 little screw holes. I tried putting lingscrew attached to my crow bar to hold. I tried wrapping straps around it tight and it doesn’t work eventually pulley keep turning, idk lol. Definitely it’s not as easy or simple as ppl make it look on UA-cam
