Good to see and hear the world's best military band, bonus the senior service, complete with the white ensign and hearts of oak.. makes an old matelot misty eyed..
They marched out with Westward Home.. official slow march of the Royal Navy and marched back into barracks with the quick march of hearts of Oak.. official quick march of the Royal Navy. The band was splendid and as always supporting the Royal Naval Guard , made up of members of HM Royal Marines. Music on the march always has some compromise, affected by varying acoustics, and the recording device was I think lower spec but despite this, as always the boys were on point ..proud to say I once marched behind them as part of an RN guard..brings back great 👍 memories.

Think the navy have only done this a few times in the last 5 years. But as ever it’s subject to operations, each sailor comes from a different ship or submarine and has volunteered for these public duties.
Something to do with "Sworn Force". Whereas the Army & Air Force have to "Swear Allegiance" to the Soverign, the Loyalty of the Royal Navy has never been doubted. So they are NOT a "Sworn Force" and so do NOT perform such Duties. Hence ANY bunch of "Armed Naval Ratings" AUTOMATICALLY "Carries the Royal Standard and is therefore a Royal Guard of Honour" ! Normally any video featuring the Royal Marines is of the highest quality in all respects, but this is dreadful. The resolution is so low you can barely make out the faces of the Marines and sailors. Did you have a camera problem?
@@TheBandsofHMRoyalMarines I would respectfully suggest you get technical help from someone with expertise in this area of video production. You should be able to achieve much better results than this.

Noone controls the weather, and the latter does nothing to diminish the quality of the Bands of the Royal Marines, and their Naval Guard contingent. The music was as usual top notch. The Navy's Guard presentation was precision sharp.
Impressive uniforms - especially nice hats. They also march very well. But the music is dreadful. Really dreadful. Maybe they should borrow something from Sousa. The American Marines would probably be happy to help. 😊
The USMC (and American martial music in general) borrowed just as much from these lads as they did from us. Other than the poor recording quality, I don't hear anything I could possibly complain about.
.get a life, William my boy. You obviously know nothing about musicianship and presentation. Why don't you ask members of The President's Own, USMC band, about this lot? I am sure they will set you straight. Oh, by the way, their drum major wears a bearskin, now that's a nice hat! Toodle loo.

Exactly the same would happen for Windsor Castle, the NCOs escort the officer as there is no colour paraded.
