  • I know how dark and drab a north-facing room can be because I grew up in one. Luckily, a room that faces north can be brightened with color!

Very cool that you picked up on that! All the art and colors behind me have very specific “roles” it was designed with intent 💜 thank you K Down.

My daughter has a north facing small bedroom with small window. Over the years it's been lime green (actually worked well), yellow (not so well) black (ok) and now violet. She wants to paint it white--I'm in search of a warm off white, any suggestions?

I LOVE Light Raffia by Valspar and have it in my home in the hallways.

      Benjamin Moore Opal.
use the Eggshell or Pearl Finish. NOT Satin or glossy. NEVER EVER use anything with a sheen on your walls. you can use sheen on your trim, but never the walls.
also, always make sure to have layered and scattered light in each space. to do this you need:
      1. over-all lighting (which is usually a ceiling light/can lights),
      2. task lighting (desk or table lamps) and
      3. decorative lighting.
if you always have those 3 sources of lighting, your room will feel cozy and inviting.
      hope that helps. 😊

Bette in my first comment i meant to type Opaline NOT Opal.
Both are beautiful colors, BUT if Opal is too pink for you and you're leaning more toward a cream/off-white color, than I suggest
      Benjamin Moore's:
      1. Opaline.
      2. Savory Cream.
      3. Muslin.
      4. Peau Dr Soie.

@@jenns.5791 I used Muslin before, has a slight green (warm) undertone from what I remember. Nice color.
