- I bought this machine from a used store for only $20 because it had broken the battery. In this video, you will see how I changed the battery. After replacing the battery, it works fine and lasts longer. The battery capacity is changed from 30Wh to 60Wh.

Well... this excellent video confirmed that I am in fact NOT equipped to replace the batteries myself at home 🤣. Great work!
Ha Ha Just came to the same conclusion Alex! :)
@@margtuininga2483 Way over my pay grade. Thanks for showing me I'll have to shell out $370 for a new one.
its not that difficult - - and i dont even have that tack machine.
😂😂😂 exactly my sentiments
I saw your comment first before playing the video. My thought was, maybe he is not a techy guy, but when I saw how to replace the battery itself that needed soldering or welding, I gotcha. Haha I now feel the same haha
cordless vacs should have easily replaceable batteries. I wonder how much is being thrown out considering how much is being sold throughout the years. 7:38 this is well designed though, the canister, ideally, should be close to the floor head unlike gun/stick style cordless vacs we mostly have now
Yeah this sure ain't environmentally friendly products, EU and enviromental regulation government offices in other countries around the world have failed miserably in regulating these products.
Battery replacement in these things should be made user friendly .
@@Blaztphemer right. since then, I also realized there should be standard packs for various voltages so that packs interchangeable for cordless vacs, power tools, etc..
What a pain in the ass to have to change the batteries. I never would have purchased this! What a rip off!!!
You dont need to, replace whole handheld unit for same price as for batteries (around 45€) and you get new motor and electronic board as bonus 👌 with easy replacement, just take off top cover and assemble yours. Easy as that 🙃
I have a same problem. But i dont what type of battery should i buy. Can you share?
ahh... i hoped it was just a pack you could easily replace but with this you need a spot welder or do some jankery and make a external pack for it, do the connections all lead together and the pack is just seperated out or dose the board have multiple connection points?
Great job♥️..can you make a video about the screwdriver you used that looks like a pistol. Thank you♥️♥️
Haha, it is a normal screwdriver, okay I will show it next time I use it.
Does the vacuum work smoothly after replacing the battery? Even if you replace the battery, the motherboard locks itself. Do you know the solution?
Dis you find a solution?
Best solution is to replace whole handheld unit, you can buy it for 36-55€ (14.4v or 18v) and you dont have to solder anything, you get new batteries, pcb and motor…
Don’t bother fixing this POS. I just replaced mine on Ebay with Tineco Refurbished Pure ONE S12 Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner,Powerful Suction. $259 -$25 coupon. Amazing suction, comes with 2 removable batteries that last one hour each. Makes the Electrolux look like a Barbie toy.
equipos electrolux que no duran ...son desechables y no tienen servicio post venta...
Thank you for posting, great clip! I have this same vacuum model, and the battery just died... Could I send it to you :-)... making those battery connections seems complicated, and I do not have the fancy pulse soldering machine. I know lithium batteries are dangerous if heated..
Of course he doesn't have anything better to do and of course it is very cheap for you, if he repairs it :)

Why do they do this so complicated? Not exactly eco friendly because people will throw away the unit rather than replace the battery.
one of the most interesting battery configuration :) love that.
There is a particular way it has to be set up so that the electronics can manage the charge between each cell.
Thank you! I'm glad you love it.
Easy job! Good practice is that methodology You used - replacing one battery after another to keep the same structure of wiring and to keep track of correct polarity! Good work!
Yes, thank you! I'm glad you like it.
In fact this should be done with the circuit OPEN, and not like he did: if you connect a new battery to an old and flat battery pack of cells put in series, the new battery will push much current into old ones with reverse polarity! that is very dangerous (it will overheat the old batteries). So, ok to replace one battery at the time, but you have to keep at least one wire disconnected until all batteries are new.
@@BICIeCOMPUTERconGabriele Good thing to keep in mind, thanks for sharing. This time the battery pack was relatively small so it may have helped in terms of safety.
This is standard practice throughout all industries unless there's a complete teardown involved. In this case, there was a dangerous error in that since the circuit was always "live" having lithium batteries of different voltages mildly fighting against each other could pose a problem. Since lithium creates its own fuel when it decides to "explode", there's no way to put it out. IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE, it would have been best to mark, photograph and (maybe) label EACH WIRE that connects to each battery and then remove all the batteries before installing new ones. If it were any other type (chemical) battery, this wouldn't matter, but playing with lithium is a very risky thing to do. People will say they've done it numerous times. How cares? All it takes is ONE TIME where a battery explodes and you'll wish you followed the rules.
Man, that's tough, I'll keep dragging cords lol
Makes a change from a drill. Now you can hoover up your mess! 😂
Yes, you're right 😂
Electrolux up your mess... it's not a Hoover ;)
@@Andrew_Sparrow I said hoover NOT Hoover! Other brands of vacuum cleaners are available.
@@Andrew_Sparrow in the uk or Australia, they say “Hoover this mess up” while In the us, they would say “vacuum this mess up”
why not use your makita battery? You can welding 5 pic 10k color ring resistance instead of original battery pionts to inveigle system
Good Video👍, i have the same vacuum. What kind of battery did you replace?
bonjour , merci pour la vidéo : quel batterie avez vous mis ? est ce des li ion 18650 ?
Nifty spotwelder! Certainly helps with the nickel strips: I'm a bit wary of soldering due to the heat required. Was it a good idea to bathe the switches and diodes?
The whole purpose of a DIY video is to show how can do something WITHOUT the extra equipment, not with what you additionally have to buy.
Can you get batteries with lugs on, to minimise the amount of soldering?
You can buy those as well and directly solder to the nickel plate without the need of using a spot welder.

Very nice, now where can I find you to ask if you can replace my battery to my vacuum?

Where do you get the batteries for EL 2081 vaccum?
I bought one of these pieces of crap; I have learned to never buy cordless vacs. Happy with my awesome powerful Toshiba!
hola
Сразу видно МАСТЕР,!!СУПЕР!
I had one of these. Had. Same problem, wouldn't take or hold a charge. Bought it at a swap meet for $30, wasn't worth the repair at the time.
Oh, I see, thank you for sharing!
Hi, i also replaced batteries on 2 of these. I used panasonic 3400mah. They wont charge past 3rd light out of 4. I get about 11min out of it. With original batteries with smaller capacity it lasted 20min. Does your fully charge, how long does it last?
Hi, same issue after replacing my batteries too (ZB3212), looking for an explanation also. Maybe a kind of memory info to wipe into the system?
@@THEe22100 Noticed same thing. I got a new one of these still in box, never used is about 4yo. Wife got it and never used it and batteries fully discharged. I replaced the batteries, mine came with 4x18650 🤨, but there was 2 balance leads inbetween -,+ of cell 3+4 so it was made for 5x18650s. So i put 5 in and had a test, it ran very good.
But i put on charge and next day is also just flashes the 3 lights, i pulled to bits and all cells where 3.68v each. So if its charging its doing it very slow, or it could be trying to balance the batteries, so it may take a few days to do as VAC is not specifically made to be a dedicated balancer.
So my guess is slow balancing, or as you said some BS memory thing that needs a reset.
I saw a flash memory IC and a STM8L151 on PCB, could try reset stm. But who knows, that is beyond my skill.
1 you trying to make it look simple to dismantle..but you were struggling
2. not everyday household have that soldering machine your using
3. i suspect that there is some kind of polarity that you didnt show
Underpowered. Batteries die too fast. You can't shut the beater bar off cant use this on hardwood floors. Batteries get hot because of the speed control resistance in the beater bar. Only 4.5volts and too much load. Very low torque vacuum
Ролик полевой не крутится. Что сделать
They are such good vacuum cleaners but very poorly designed to be almost throw away machines which is pathetic. Battery replacements cost a fortune as you need all the equipment..
No, electrolux have cheap price for whole handheld unit, try to buy batteries to bosch or rowenta or any other brand, price like for whole new vacuum cleaner. If you know number of part that fits to your vacuum then you can buy electrolux handheld unit for 35 - 55€ (batteries, pcb & motor included), but price of 18v battery for bosch? 120-150€ 🫣🤣
Exactly my model of ErgoRapido! I'm wondering about the screwdriver profile you've used. I tried the crosshead one, but it doesn't fit :(

Good practice replacing one battery at the time to keep track of the orientation 👍👍
Yes, thank you!
Amazing! Here in Brazil companies charge a fortune to replace the batteries of this equipment. unfortunately the soldering part of the new batteries I can't do.
Oh, sorry to hear that...

Hey, can you use regular soldering iron for soldering or do you need machine like you have?
Obrigada!
He said thanks lol I'd like to know the answer to your question as well but I think I'm just going to go for it you can watch people on UA-cam solder these batteries you just have to be quick and if you don't get it quickly take the heat off of battery and let it cool down and try again
Hello sir. You repair and check inside all kind brands. So which brand and product is tge best?
What took him 9 mins to do might take me 9 hours and at the end to spoil my vacuum ... :(
wow!
👍👍
I did this with my vacuum cleaner
Чётко! 👌
What an utterly stupid design. Seriously how hard would it have been to stick a standard shaped battery pack in there. However, a great and informative video!
In comparison to rowenta, bosch or dyson their batteries are cheaper to buy, bosch for example 100-180€… from electrolux you can buy whole handheld unit for 50 - 100€ and you have new motor and PCB as bonus to those batteries… no soldering is needed 👌
Well that looks easy 😅
You won't even get the performance out of that unit like it was new. If the motor bushings and the windings are weak then it's absolutely useless. High resistance can develop and overheating. It would cost more to fix than a new one. These cheap mass produced offshore build units are not worth it. Very underpowered using vape style batteries
You dont need to replace anything in these ergorapido models, just replace whole handheld unit for same price as for batteries (around 45€) and you get new motor and electronic board as bonus 👌 with easy replacement, just take off top cover and assemble yours. Easy as that 🙃
I'm more interested in the type of the impeller that this vacum cleaner have, and the dinamo.
Is it 775 dinamo? Maybe in future video, I hope you can dissasamble and clean the impaller too. Thanks for the video.

You may have bought crappy cells (e.g. used ones). Good ones are not really cheap. Test them before replacement.
