Fixing Matt's damaged oil cooler on his F82 M4 with CSF + Fall Line - Plus new forged wheels!

- Owners of lowered F8x M2/M3/M4's will know all too well just how close to the ground the engine oil cooler sits, and that with one misplaced bump or rock you could quickly find yourself with no oil and possibly a damaged engine.
When Matt bought his M4 it was completely standard and the oil cooler was already bent! With it now lowered he was suffering the anxiety of damaging it even more, so we knew we had to find a fix.
When a part is damaged thats a perfect excuse to upgrade! So we fit the uprated CSF Oil Cooler which boasts improved cooling efficiency compared to the standard item. It already includes a built in rock guard but we wanted to go one step further with a 2.5mm thick stainless steel Fall-line motorsports Oil Cooler guard.
At the same time Matt's new wheels from Titan 7 arrive, and he wastes no time getting them fitted to the car, replacing the tired 437Ms the car came with.

That looks spot on without going overboard! CSL style wheels really do fit a BMW nicely, oh and welcome back to being Infront of the camera Mat.
Simple and classy makes a statement with out shouting about it. Well done The Gentleman spec
Your M4 is looking great on those wheels
More from Matt please
New wheels look perfect! Very classy look.
I like it. Stance isn't speed bump, subframe killing low, but looks purposeful. Silver wheels look sharp and Titan7 makes a solid wheel. Black wheels just look like blobs, there's no contrast.
Wheels look stunning against the black CSL style always a winner car is awesome 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
Aston’s an absolute legend
The crome grill and silver wheels makes a classy look.Looks great like this, its nice to see subtle mods that actually work.
Wheels look perfect
enjoying this series! All the car needs now is a new set of reg plates
Really liking the wheels, great choice 👍🏾
Wheels look great
Love it! Nice clean not too shouty look...
Looks absolutely 💯 spot on! And good ideanwith the cooler reinforcement 🤙
Love it 👌🏻 wheels look great oem+
Looks very good. Pure looks.
Looks 👌🏻 love it.
Sits well👍
Looks decent and agree on e46 CSL vibes 😎
I think the original wheels looked bang-on, otherwise utterly beautiful car!
I thinks it's a very nice build so far and very nice match with the color and wheels.
But I also would add even a small front and rear spoiler maybe in CS style 🤔
Perhaps in the future I'll look at maybe something simple like the CS front splitter.
If you to a CS front lip maybe also CS or M Performance rear spoiler just to have a balance between front and rear but I really like the nice and simple look no big wing is needed 😉👌
Looks good
i think evovle should do their own version of the cooler guard in black with an evolve logo etched in
Those wheels are absolutely perfect!!! Great choice in colour and style. Would love a set myself. Do Evolve supply Titan7?
We do yes, you can head to our website - www.evolveautomotive.co.uk/collections/titan-7 - or drop us an email on sales@evolveautomotive.com ✌🏻
Spot on 👌
Looks good cant decide if it needs BMW centre caps instead to tie it all together!
Personally not a fan of a BMW centre cap in an aftermarket wheel but I’ve seen people for them to Titan 7’s so it’s possible
Looks good that. It would be interesting to know what you think of the SC7 tyres.
Impressed with them so far, in a future video Imran will get behind the wheel and give his expert opinion 🙏🏻
Nice upgrade!
Would that work on my E92 335is for the DCT? The car has nowhere else for a DCT fluid cooler.
Clean and simple, next freebie intake.......😂
I’m on the wait list 😂
I like the look, very classy Matt. Personally though. I would get rid of all that fake chrome trim. Wrap it in flat black vinyl? Then gone with a darker wheel.
Thanks! Each to their own on the visual style, that’s why we modify cars ✌🏻
The wheels look great on the car. Nice choice. Is it necessary to put the original plastic piece below the oil cooler and above the metal guard?
That’s what their instructions say, so we followed them.
Thank God! No black grille! Bmw's lose their face and identity when folk do that... The wheels are great, something I'd pick... Needs a smattering of carbon bits, and some cheeky light tint adding...
I like black kidneys but that's just my preference
No.........! I hate it, takes the whole BMW identity away, loses its face..
@@martynrollinsonI normally agree on other models, on this one I think black is best haha
E46 m3 csl 🤝😉
That front bumper needs readjustment on the top.. you have bolts for depth and also for height.
Wheels are nice though 😍
Also i don`t think tha plastic cover should go under the metal tray :))
I need to find time to adjust the bumper, it’s been in an accident before and either it’s not been adjusted correctly or something is bent.
The Fall-line instructions include cutting the plastic cover and reinstalling, so we followed them.
@@EvolveAutomotive Oh understood, nice project 🥰😍
miss the e60 m5 vids
Needs the black M Performance grilles.
Chrome grilles for life
Silver wheels are awesome really makes the car look fresh..... just one more upgrade ..... rear lights ... just saying
I actually prefer the Pre-LCI lights on the coupe, to me it suits the shape more.
I have also changed them since buying the car, but the reason is super subtle 😉
Do you have to change the oil when changing oil cooler?
You actually only lose about 500ml-1 litre, but you could do a full change at the same time if you wished.
just curious as to how its a pre lci considering its an 18 plate?
We addressed this in the first video of the series - Built 11/16 but not registered until 2018
Funny how my mechanic today has told me my oil cooler has a few seales gone and is causing my oil leak 😂
As you say it’s your choice Matt & each person’s choice is different….
Nice touch with the oil cooler mod but your wheels aren’t for me personally at all.
I love the competition wheels & think they suit the car amazingly tbh.
Thought you’d have smashed some MPS4S’s on instead of Conti 7’s🤔…. But again each to their own bud.
I’m just really not a fan of a diamond cut look, and I’m not sure how the wheels would look all one colour.
With The CSC7 reviewing very similarly to PS4S but being about 25% cheaper in these sizes it was a bit of a no brainer to go this way. So far I’ve been very pleased with them - We’re huge Michelin fans here at Evolve, looking forward to seeing how good a PS5S will be!
@@EvolveAutomotive a lad who lives not far from me has had his comp wheels painted all one colour (gloss black then the barrel’s anthracite) tbh it looks really nice against his black M4, he didn’t want the diamond cut look either!…. Me tho I love the OEM look & have the 20” comp wheels on my M4 cab.
I’m surprised that oil cooler gets any flow, being positioned like that.
All the debris jammed in the original one it definitely gets a lot of flow!
BMW’s fitted with wheels that don’t use a BMW emblem roundel just look wrong to me.
When's the next M6 video?
When it works properly…. 🙃
£850 for the oil cooler guard? Let it bend.
Exactly having a laugh at that price there's some cheaper ones I know from RS Ghigo
I wouldn’t personally be putting anything aluminium underneath, as I’m fairly certain it would just bend with any contact, meaning after a few weeks it would already have been damaged.
2.5mm thick stainless steel has some serious strength, I know if this guard hits something it’s not bending even with the weight of the car pushing down.
2.5mm stainless steel…..must weigh a tonne…
Didn’t weigh it but probably a few KG, not overly worried about the weight when its purpose is to protect from a hit. There’s aluminium alternatives on the market but I’m not sure they’d be able to take the same abuse.
That's a sharp looking ride. I'm with you, not a fan of murdered-out look. While it's great for hiding brake dust, for me, I like the contrasting look of silver wheels on a car. In any case, keep up the good vids. Thx.
A good point! I’ve cleaned these wheels so many times already 😅
Don’t have to worry about breaking an oil cooler if your car doesn’t have any oil to cool 🤌
