WhoooooHoooooo! I do every single thing you went through. A couple of them we just completed doing, yet again. As getting rid of extra mugs, and icky potholders were just done. Proud of me because I was ot always like this but at 78, soon to be 79 and the invariable 80 too quickly coming up I notice that I need things simplified, and nice, even if I am a very healthy and energetic senior. Love the tips.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey and enthusiasm! 🎉 It’s inspiring to hear how proactive you’ve been in simplifying your kitchen and home-way to go on tackling those extra mugs and pot holders! At 78 (soon 79-happy early birthday! 🎂), your focus on creating a space that’s both functional and enjoyable is a true testament to embracing this stage of life with energy and wisdom. I’m so glad you found the tips helpful-your positivity and determination are exactly what EverGreen Seniors is all about. Here’s to continuing to simplify and enjoy every moment! 💚🌿
You’re absolutely right-these tips can be helpful for anyone looking to simplify and organize their kitchen! While the video is tailored to seniors, focusing on ease, safety, and practicality, the principles apply universally. Thank you for pointing that out-it’s great to know these suggestions resonate beyond the intended audience. Organization and simplicity truly are for everyone! 😊
I save some plastic for leftovers to bring to someone else or they make great plant starter pots. I have also donated these to church meals for the leftovers. Old kitchen towels that are worn I use for rags or for camping.
That’s such a fantastic and thoughtful way to repurpose plastic! Using them for plant starter pots and donating for church meals is a wonderful way to give back and reduce waste. Thank you for sharing your creative and kind approach!
Thank you so much for subscribing! It means the world to me that you’ve been enjoying the content. I’m excited to have you as part of this journey-welcome aboard!
I got rid of my nonstick pans because they are TOXIC. I now use stainless steel, cast iron, & enamel-coated pans. That made a lot more room in my cupboards!
Thank you for sharing your experience-it sounds like you’ve made some wonderful choices for both your health and your kitchen space! Stainless steel, cast iron, and enamel-coated pans are fantastic alternatives to nonstick cookware, and it’s great to hear how much room you’ve freed up by making the switch. Your approach is such a smart way to prioritize both safety and functionality in the kitchen. I’m sure your insight will inspire others in our community to consider healthier and more durable cookware options. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! 🌟 Wishing you many happy and healthy meals in your beautifully decluttered kitchen! 🍳
I go through the items you mentioned every once in a while. It is hard to throw things away that are useful. I have two cabinets in the garage full of glass jars - I live in California, so every once in a while they get cleaned out by an earthquake, same with mugs. But who wants my old junk? The Good Will here had a big bin outside & they were throwing EVERYTHING in it, even breakables. The clothing was going to be sold to vendors for $1 a pound & the rest was going to stuff furniture. None of it was actually going into the store. A garage sale is too much for me. I need to find a good place for my donations where people will actually benefit from the items.
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful approach to decluttering! It’s wonderful that you take the time to sort through your items, even though it’s challenging to part with things that still have potential use. And wow-living in California certainly adds an unpredictable helper to the decluttering process with those earthquakes! I completely understand your concern about wanting your donations to truly benefit others. Some great alternatives to traditional donation spots like Goodwill might include: Local Shelters or Nonprofits: Many homeless or domestic violence shelters appreciate kitchen items, clothing, and other household goods. Community Buy Nothing Groups: These are fantastic for giving items directly to neighbors who can use them. Schools or Art Programs: Glass jars can often be repurposed for crafts or storage in classrooms. Food Banks or Religious Centers: Some may accept items like mugs or gently used clothing for families in need. It’s heartwarming to see how much thought you put into ensuring your items are given a second life in the hands of someone who can truly use them. Thank you for inspiring us to be more mindful in our decluttering journey! 🌟
Haa haa. I’m cleaning everyday at 64. I decided if I have not touched it for many years I have to give away. You said it right why we need so many mugs, pots etc
It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job decluttering! You’re absolutely right-sometimes we hold onto too many things we don’t really need. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for sharing your perspective! This video was intended to provide practical tips, but I appreciate your feedback and will consider it as I create future content.
what a f......... stupid remark... you must have lost to many braincells over the holidays, did you forget what channel you are watching... yes it is for seniors... and yes we need reminders... your input tells me you have lots of problems to tackle in the coming year.. one of the is to think before commenting.
That’s such a smart and practical approach! Skipping holiday or seasonal-themed items definitely helps keep the kitchen clutter under control. And it sounds like you’re already ahead of the game by planning to refresh your potholders-having a dependable set makes all the difference in a functional kitchen. Thanks for sharing your perspective! It’s great to hear how you’re keeping things simple and organized. 😊
Thank you for pointing that out! I always aim to bring a fresh perspective or helpful tips, even if the topic overlaps with others. I appreciate you watching and sharing your feedback!
Absolutely-labeling frozen food is such a smart habit! It makes it so much easier to keep track of what’s fresh and avoid wasting anything. A quick label with the date and contents can save so much time and hassle later. Thank you for sharing this helpful tip-it’s a great reminder for all of us to stay organized in the kitchen! 😊
That’s such a fun way to enjoy your coffee mugs! Rotating them keeps things fresh and allows you to appreciate each one-it’s like a mini collection you get to use and enjoy every day. The goal of decluttering isn’t about letting go of what you love; it’s about making sure everything in your space brings you joy, and it sounds like your coffee mugs do just that! ☕😊 Thanks for sharing your routine-it’s a great reminder that everyone’s “perfect kitchen” looks a little different. I appreciate you being part of the conversation!

You make a great point-at the end of the day, everyone has their own way of doing things, and that’s exactly how it should be. The purpose of these videos isn’t to tell anyone what to do, but to share ideas and inspiration that might spark something helpful. It’s simple, efficient, and ensures you’re covered if one breaks or gets misplaced. Thank you for sharing your approach-it’s a fantastic tip for anyone looking to simplify their kitchen setup! 😊
I cannot figure out how you guys come on with such list. Every household has its own people with all of them having different needs. I feel you are making a list based on who knows what. I have different things I might not need, but who cares. It is my house and I resent you people saying what I need to keep and what I should get rid of. Look for something to write about.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts-I truly appreciate your perspective! You’re absolutely right that every household is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. This list is simply meant to offer ideas and inspiration, not hard-and-fast rules. It’s all about encouraging people to take a fresh look at their spaces and decide what feels right for them. I completely respect that your home reflects your needs, preferences, and memories, and I’d never suggest otherwise. These videos aim to spark ideas and provide a starting point for those looking to simplify, but at the end of the day, it’s always your choice what stays and what goes. Thank you for engaging with the content and sharing your feedback-it’s voices like yours that keep the conversation meaningful and dynamic! 🌟
Thank you for sharing! It’s great to hear what works for you-canned sweet potatoes are such a convenient and tasty option. The video is meant to give general ideas for decluttering, but it’s always about tailoring the tips to your own habits and preferences. If you don’t mash potatoes, it sounds like you’ve already streamlined your kitchen tools perfectly for your needs. That’s exactly the goal-keeping only what makes your life easier and more enjoyable. Thanks for tuning in and letting us know your perspective! 😊
You’re absolutely right-just a few rubber bands or bread ties are usually plenty to get the job done. It’s amazing how quickly those little items can pile up, though! Keeping only what you really need is such a simple way to avoid unnecessary clutter. Thank you for sharing your insight-it’s always great to hear practical advice from our viewers! 😊

Three cutting boards. The third for cutting bread - bagels, biscuits, and sandwiches.
That’s a great system! Having a specific cutting board for bread and baked goods sounds super organized and practical. Thanks for sharing your method!

I do not know about other seniors but I get tired of people telling what to do and what to keep. SO shove it
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! These tips are meant to inspire, not dictate. At the end of the day, it’s all about what works best for you.
I was sort of thinking the same thing when I read the title, but I wasn't quite so angry about it. 😂
No need to be, and you didn't need to watch it.

Suggesting that these are actions for "Seniors" only smells of ageism.

Agreed. But at least this one does not speak to you as if you are mentally 3 years old and as if he is the only person in the world who has a brain.
Do I really need some drone to advise me?
Fair point! This video is just here to share ideas-feel free to take what works for you and leave the rest. Your home, your rules!
