Sadly, my 93 year old mom who moved in with me five years ago so I could take care of her, just died. But, I can tell you that these gadgets were so helpful to she and I. Thank you for putting together this list becase it is really helpful for the elderly and their caretakers!!!! ❤
That's the first thing I thought, too. My comment stated that I want to have whatever the "60" year old actors are taking. Be aware of these gadgets. Cheap material, and not safe.
*I'll be 70 this year and the only thing I need from that list is a 'grabber' because I'm SHORT! I was given my late aunt's 'grabber' nine years ago. It's called the "Golden Retriever" and it works great!*
I have two grabbers. 1 is foldable. The other is not. I prefer the one that is not foldable because it feels very sturdy. The foldable one does not make me feel confident that it can hold, say, a can of soup I need to put on a cabinet shelf. While the foldable one is easy to transport, I always take the other one as I don’t want to drop a jar of pickles in the grocery store. (Don’t get me started on grocery stores who always seem to put everything I need on a top shelf or at the very back of a bottom shelf.)
Glad to see, but the Star Frite cutter requires hand, arm and shoulder strength for most veggies such as onions, potatoes or carrots. I’m looking for a new food processor instead. The cute mama can opener died halfway into its second set of batteries so have Oxo hand opener now. The grabbers are terrific but get a good one. Flimsy is no bargain.
I was looking for one just the other day online and I found many many complaints of them not working properly. In many cases, the most frequent complaint was that they just don’t have enough power to open the cans. It’s a shame because it’s a great idea.
The grabbers are very handy, but some of them are too long to conveniently pick up things that are close by so I’m getting one of the 19 inch ones to go along with the longer one I have. Be aware that there is a limit to the weight they can pick up, especially something that’s overhead.
My grabber doesn't fold, but I like this one that does! One thing I use mine for a LOT is catching spiders on the ceiling. I have a glass mason jar that I hang onto with the grabber, then I can reach my high ceilings to catch and release spiders outside, without having to stand on anything while doing so. Also great for retrieving cat-toys that have gone under a couch or chest of drawers.
Somehow, I’ve made it to my seventh decade with all my fingers intact. Back in school, I was the class-clown, always cracking jokes about old people. The irony? Now I’m the punchline-I never actually thought I’d get old myself. In many ways, my brain still feels like it’s stuck in my younger years, which is a bit surreal. Watching this video gave me a mix of emotions; I felt embarrassed realizing that I actually see the value in these devices-something I would’ve mocked without hesitation in the past. 🥺
mocking aint good, but thats why we say silly thing because how can a young person know what old age feels like, its all about learning. every one makes mistakes, at least you were brave enough to admit it. bless you. im in my 70, i am thankful for every gadget there is.
You need to be smart when purchasing any of these items...first of all, most have alternate versions...find the one made with the strongest materials, that will last & ALWAYS do your independent research (NEVER DEPEND ON THE MANUFACTURER'S REVIEWS!! I always do my research, no matter what I purchase. It can save you money & frustration & worry later on, when you actually go to use any of these items!!!
Heated blankets or heating pads are dangerous for the very elderly . They may not be able to detect that the heat is too high and can cause burns to delicate elderly skin. An electric toothbrush is the best item for anyone with teeth. It made a huge difference for me. They won't allow bed rails in assisted living. I found that really stupid. Many gadgets are too complicated for many over 75 to operate. Very few suggestions actually any good.
Don't underestimate yourself. My spouse is 77 and is pretty good with 'gadgets', including the doorbell camera, which I think is a must have if you can afford one. The grabbers are handy even if you're young and short. The garden kneeler is very handy as well. Everything depends on your particular situation and abilities.
I guarantee that everything in this video is cheaply made and will fall apart easily and is manufactured in another country as well. I would like to get whatever the "60 year old actors" are taking to stay so young. I'm sure the prices are fair, too. Everything looks like it's made with the same material and color. What garbage.
The problem is that today so many things are made overseas. If they were made here, they would be much more expensive or our workforce would have to take drastic pay cuts to make it financially profitable for the US manufacturers.
This is a good video but when you go to pause or to back up video the connector to the ordering site is too big to move around to start and stop the video again. 😕This is on a mobile device
It works but you have to kinda whack it with the palm of your hand. I have it. Just used it for some of the dishes I made for Christmas. Definitely made it easier to prep.
Those reachers/grabbers that bend in half for storage... are crap. Got a spendy one for my aunt... it had a magnetic tip and light at the end. Yes, it can pick up a set of keys, but anything with more weight (like a can of soup, coffee mug) it is too flimsy. It's not worth the cost for a set of keys or hair clip, as shown in the video.
I just bought 2 can openers and neither one of them work very well. Waiting on my 3rd to come in the mail after Walmart failed me with their crappy openers.
"EVERY" senior? Many are handy. Some helped when I was taking care of my wife. . . but EVERY senior needs these 30 things? didn't realize I was part of such a decrepit lot.
If I was over 90 I might use one of two of these items. At 71 years, I don't need any of these things. What a joke. If you are 60 and need any of these items, you need medical intervention.
Your snide remark makes me want to be a fly on the wall when you turn 72 and are crippled up with arthritis like me. You might not look down your nose quite so much.
@skeeterinnewjersey5256 i agree. The comment they made was unnecessary and rude. I'm 66 and have many of them or another version. Most of mine are very helpful. Unfortunately, many responses on here seem to support the grumpy old person stereotype.
I have to disagree. If you're a woman, if you're short, if you have a disability of some sort (at any age), several items listed here are very handy. And everyone should have these doorbell cameras and/or indoor cameras. Mine have come in handy a few times. Everyone's situation is different.
Many of these things are not easy for over 80 to use- tile has horrible tech support and my intelligent mother and I couldn’t figure how to use it. It kept beeping on her iPad. Salad makers are hard to press down. Etc.
You show the 5th gadget being used on a door with glass panes, and side glass windows..?? Bad example, any better could break the glass and reach in and remove the brace.!! Change the door, show it being used on a solid door instead with no glass anywhere near it, like hotel door etc..!!
*If you took care of them, you'd still have all your teeth! I ALWAYS took care of my teeth after hearing my mom tell me countless times how much my braces cost in 1970 when I was 15!* 😁

Nice products if they're well made. I'd definitely check the reviews before purchasing but the concepts are great.
I love it, gadgets for seniors? All the actors are either young or middle aged 😅
They will need it when they get older.
LOL
That's the first thing I thought, too.
My comment stated that I want to have whatever the "60" year old actors are taking. Be aware of these gadgets. Cheap material, and not safe.
But they will get old😂
Didn’t say just for Seniors.

Still looking for those automatic toenail clippers.
Good one! hahaha!
Me too 😂
No. 3 is the old veg-o-matic!
very informative and usefull for all ages

AGREE
Ordering groceries removes that sort of problem
They do that in my grocery store too!

I've tried about 4 of those type can openers over the years, and they are (in my opinion) a total waste of money.
I was looking for one just the other day online and I found many many complaints of them not working properly. In many cases, the most frequent complaint was that they just don’t have enough power to open the cans. It’s a shame because it’s a great idea.
The last one was a photo frame. Was it really worth waiting for? Really? No.
I’m 4’ 9”, and have had that grabber for years,
I bought the jar opener. Electronic one. Did not work on any jar. Went around then slipped off.
I’ve had no problems whatsoever. Even small mouth jars like capers, it worked great. Was your jar wet?
I experienced the same.
I like the Birdie but need a long strong cattle prod for wild critters that constantly visit my neighborhood.
The Kitchen Mama opener is great. I have one for a few years, works great.
If you get the door stop how will anyone be able to get in if you fall and need help
They will be able to get in because the door stop doesn't work!
The next gadget I will buy will be the folding grabber!!😀. Merry Christmas everybody🙏
You'll love it!
The grabbers are very handy, but some of them are too long to conveniently pick up things that are close by so I’m getting one of the 19 inch ones to go along with the longer one I have. Be aware that there is a limit to the weight they can pick up, especially something that’s overhead.

The ABSOLUTE BEST PART of this entire video was that you waited until the end and said IF YOU LIKED the video please like and subscribe.

When I was a kid, I thought that when the music I listen to is sold on tv ... I'm old. Well, I guess I'm old now.... 😂
Me, too. I’m still 19 in my head
mocking aint good, but thats why we say silly thing because how can a young person know what old age feels like, its all about learning. every one makes mistakes, at least you were brave enough to admit it. bless you. im in my 70, i am thankful for every gadget there is.
Live and learn

Why are they just for seniors? Some of these gadgets could also be good for children as well as any age.

Put an electric blanket ON TOP OF a regular blanket!
All ages van use different ones.
Magnifying light not listed
You forgot the kit that contains sleeping pills, a bottle of whiskey and a revolver. I'm 68, I know.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 *Funny guy!*

Not really sure why these gadgets are for seniors alone.
Why is a magnifying glass for reading round instead of a more practical rectangle?
Just because one is over 60 years old doesn’t mean one’s an invalid.
The #3 chopper is not that easy to use fyi
It works but you have to kinda whack it with the palm of your hand. I have it. Just used it for some of the dishes I made for Christmas. Definitely made it easier to prep.

The Amazon links will be in the description and top of comments
Yes, the Birdie Alarm. So everyone knows to start filming.
Beaucoup d'accidents avec les couvertures chauffantes

5:32 min, " Dementia clock " . 12-25-24 W
I like clutter 😂
I’m 70 don’t need any of that crap 😂
You're fortunate. Many people younger than you would find at least a few of these items to be helpful.
"EVERY" senior? Many are handy. Some helped when I was taking care of my wife. . . but EVERY senior needs these 30 things? didn't realize I was part of such a decrepit lot.

I agree in part to what you said, but if you’re disabled or have back problems, some of these items could be a great help.

Door security gadget shown next to glass windows!!! Anyone else see the problem
Maybe revise the age to 80
Most of these are too expensive
Speak for yourself! I'm 77 and don't need a toilet seat, walking frame or tablet holder. Thank you very much!
You’re lucky.
Keep it up! That’s great!
Is there anything on utube that doesn’t blow your mind 😂
Many of these things are not easy for over 80 to use- tile has horrible tech support and my intelligent mother and I couldn’t figure how to use it. It kept beeping on her iPad.
Salad makers are hard to press down.
Etc.
Consumerism on steroids. Utter BS
How old are you?
lol, wait til you’re 80 like my husband and me, all gadgets help!
You don’t have links to all the products
You show the 5th gadget being used on a door with glass panes, and side glass windows..?? Bad example, any better could break the glass and reach in and remove the brace.!! Change the door, show it being used on a solid door instead with no glass anywhere near it, like hotel door etc..!!
Please stop buying from Amazon
You shill for Amazon, don't you?
An electric tooth brush for seniors? Most seniors don't have any teeth.
NOT TRUE. i AM 78 AND HAVE ALL MY TEETH.
@BarryHoffman.
Neither do you Meth users.
@BarryHoffman-g4o...tengo 70 años, tengo todos mis dientes.
*If you took care of them, you'd still have all your teeth! I ALWAYS took care of my teeth after hearing my mom tell me countless times how much my braces cost in 1970 when I was 15!* 😁
Most of them are made in China.
Reason some are affordable
