Stash is not clutter
THANK YOU.
Tell them to get their stuff and take it to their house.
And the pictures are not in English but states in America.
Great tips for a fresh start to 2025
Sobbing as so true. Hadn't admitted how many items had emotion attached
Thank you. At age 77 and a retired home health care worker, I appreciate all of these safety tips. I am constantly working to keep my apt clean and safe. There always seems to be something more that I come across that needs my attention. As, over time, I've had my share of slips and falls, and I strive to maintain a safe, clutter free living space. I'm very fortunate to have been trained and worked in my field as it gives me peace of mind, knowing that I am more aware of a safe environment and how important it is. I hope everyone who watches your video, takes your sound advice. 🎉
Fantastic job because I will clean it out.
The pictures are irritating. I don't want to see someone agonising on a toilet or the toilet paper roll being undone at 100 mph.We need pictures of what you are actually talking about.
Maybe use someone age appropriate for your article?
I totally agree with you. Becoming a complete minimalist isn't for me. I was going to get my home emptied out, but then I thought about what I had. It has been many years trying to reduce my belongings, but, like you said, it has to be done thoughtfully.
It’s time to get rid of the dressy clothes I save for flying. They don’t care what you wear on airlines any more. Dressing nice is sometimes uncomfortable but I found over the years that I was always treated better when I was dressed nicely. I’ve been in a wheelchair for years and it made a difference in getting aid from the airport employees.
I have a full set of China and a chest of silverware that I haven’t used in years…. wedding gifts 55 years ago, who wants these? No one!
I’ll save this video and will watch it when I turn 75 . Nothing related to my life yet on this video. Thank you for the info!
Great for larger kitchens, mines a galley kitchen, which is the worst design ever thought up!!! Plus having a hubby who just stuffs things into the cupboards…. I’m tired of redoing everything he undoes! Right now my 2 large cupboards for cans, cereal etc is a mess, yet again! And don’t get me going on my dish cupboard, holy moly! Having health issues for over 2 years now has caused my craziness in my life! Dang!
Info is given, while we watch a young woman decide what she would never wear.
Thank you for your observation! The goal of the video is to share practical decluttering strategies for everyone, but I understand how the visuals might feel disconnected for some viewers. I’ll take your feedback into account and work on aligning the visuals more closely with the message, particularly for our valued older audience. Your input helps us improve-thank you for taking the time to share it! 😊
DAMAGED "CLOSE" BEYOND REPAIR. Learn to proofread and spot your errors before putting your videos online. It's distracting. BTW, these things do not look like they are belongings of an older generation person.
Thank you for your feedback! I truly appreciate your attention to detail and will double-check for errors in future videos to ensure a smoother experience for everyone. Regarding the items featured, the goal was to provide universally helpful decluttering tips that apply to a wide audience, but your point about tailoring to the older generation is noted and will be considered in future content. Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts!
The simplicity of this is genius, but how sustainable is it for long-term health?
many thanks
This could be the easiest lifestyle change for older adults. Is it really that effective?"
many thanks
The wool dryer balls were are great tip. I've never used dryer sheets, but my daughter just bought some. I figured they were toxic, but now I know. I just ordered some wool dryer balls for both of us.
I'm so glad you found the wool dryer balls tip helpful! They're such a fantastic, natural alternative, and it’s wonderful that you’re introducing them to your daughter as well. Small changes like this make a big difference for both health and the environment. I hope you both enjoy using them!
2 of the items were numbered twice, so its 26
Thank you for pointing that out! I'll double-check the numbering next time to ensure everything is spot on. Appreciate your keen eye and your feedback! 😊
I like this, we don’t need every thing any more, Either.. not only not using it, but flat out do not need it. My kids don’t want most of my stuff either.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It’s true that sometimes we hold onto things that no longer serve us. I hope these ideas help you create a space that feels just right for you!
With soooo many videos on decluttering, I was delighted to find this on - thoughtful decluttering. Thank you for the wonderful suggestions and advice.
Glad it was helpful!
Blah…blah… vote down
Thank you for sharing your opinion! While this video might not be for everyone, we value all feedback as it helps us improve. If there’s something specific you’d like to see or feel we could do better, we’d love to hear your suggestions!
I qould mot get rud of 5 pairs of garden glives that depends on the gloves .. If they have loength to them theywould be good to use for pruning plants with thorns like roses etc.. Shorter lenth gloves at least keep two pairs... Umbrellas depends on them also.. Having a full length one keeps your drier but if you gave a collapsing one they break way to easy and need to be repurchased...
You make a great point! Keeping items like garden gloves and umbrellas really depends on their condition and how often you use them. Long gloves are indeed perfect for thorny plants like roses, and having a couple of shorter ones for lighter tasks is smart. As for umbrellas, a sturdy full-length one is always reliable, while collapsible ones can be handy if they’re durable. The key is finding the right balance for your needs-thank you for sharing your thoughtful insights!
This hits differently when you really think about it."
many thanks
Hold up, did anyone catch that reference?
many thanks
"This totally caught me off guard. In a good way!
I'm so glad to hear that! 😊 Sometimes a little surprise is just what we need to see things from a fresh perspective. Thank you for sharing your thoughts-it truly means a lot. Wishing you lots of inspiration on your journey to a clutter-free and joyful home! 🌟🏡
Great advice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
This video needs pictures and or diagrams for what you are talking about, the toilets, wands etc.
Thank you for your feedback! You’re absolutely right-visuals like pictures or diagrams can make a huge difference in explaining things clearly, especially when discussing specific items like toilets or wands. I appreciate you pointing this out, and it’s definitely something we’ll consider incorporating in future videos to make the content even more helpful and engaging. Your input helps us improve, so thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!
Unfortunately, I have been a shop-a-holic for quite some time now. I am 70yr old widow & I am ashamed of the bags of things that clutter my house. I had planned on having a S.P.R.E.E. sale (Shop-a-holic Pack Rat Everything Excess sale) for about 5 years now, but, I never got around to it. Now, i want to find a charity that will take ALL of my excess & GIVE things away for FREE to ANYONE/EVERYONE in need. I have stacks throughout my storage shed (AKA my house) that i HAVE TO get rid of in order to live & not just exist as I do now!! I have prayed about this & I believe the Lord will help me figure out how to accomplish the task set before me. If anyone on this site is a believer, please keep me in prayer. Thank you for your video. I hoped for inspiration, & I received it.
Thank you for the-tips! I'm.just reach my_6O last.November..
You're so welcome, and a big congratulations on reaching this wonderful milestone! 🎉 Turning 60 is such a special chapter filled with opportunities to create the life and space that bring you joy. I'm thrilled you found the tips helpful-wishing you an amazing journey ahead, filled with peace and happiness. 💛🌟
I always make my bed right away. I try to make sure my entire home is straightened up before I go to bed. I do little things every day, throughout the day to avoid clutter. I never walk out of a dirty kitchen. Before I go to bed, I always wipe down the counters, stove top and/or microwave inside and out and the refrigerator door and handles. I sweep the floor and damp mop. Waking up to a clean kitchen brings me joy.
That sounds like a fantastic routine! Keeping everything tidy and organized really makes a difference in how we start our day. Great job!
You started over again so will leave the site.
I'm so sorry if it felt repetitive-thank you for sharing your thoughts. I truly appreciate you taking the time to visit and engage with the video. My goal is always to share helpful and inspiring content, and your feedback will help me improve. I hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future. Wishing you all the best! 💛
You may want to mention women's makeup. I have four large containers full of 😮
Thank you for sharing! Makeup is such a common area where clutter sneaks up on us, isn’t it? Four containers-wow, that’s impressive! Maybe it’s time for a little ‘makeup decluttering session’ to keep only your favorite products and simplify your routine. It could be a fun project! I might just include this tip in a future video-thanks for the inspiration! 😊
I'm 68 and find technology daunting. I mess up more than ever trying to even take a picture with my phone. I barely know how to check or receive a basic e-mail, and I have trouble with using a cellphone. I have never been technology smart. I have to find someone to help me, and it is very hard to find someone who is willing to help. Are there any other way to keep precious pictures and cards without technology. This might sound stupid to some, but I have a lot of paper things.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience-it’s definitely not stupid, and you’re not alone in feeling this way. Technology can feel overwhelming, especially when it seems to change so quickly. The good news is that you don’t have to rely on technology to preserve your precious pictures and cards. Here are a few non-tech ideas that might work for you: Memory Scrapbooks: Create a simple scrapbook where you can arrange photos, cards, and keepsakes. You can use clear adhesive corners to secure photos and write little notes next to each one about what they mean to you. Photo Albums: A classic photo album with pockets for pictures can keep them safe and organized. You can even find albums with spots to add written captions for extra meaning. Decorative Boxes: Store your cards and paper keepsakes in a beautiful box. You can organize them by category, such as holidays, birthdays, or special notes from loved ones, and keep them easily accessible. Shadow Boxes: For truly special items, consider displaying them in a shadow box. It’s a great way to enjoy your cherished memories while keeping them safe. Rotating Displays: Use a corkboard or a photo wire with clips to display your favorite cards and pictures. You can rotate them whenever you want to refresh the display. It’s wonderful that you’re holding onto these memories-they’re treasures. If you ever do decide to explore digital options, don’t hesitate to take it slow or ask someone you trust to guide you. For now, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to what feels comfortable for you.

Must have Alzheimer’s because he keeps repeating some of them
😂
Thank you for your feedback! We always strive to make our content as helpful and engaging as possible. Some tips may seem repeated because they address similar challenges in different areas of the home, ensuring we cover a wide range of experiences and needs. Your input is valuable to us, and we’ll keep it in mind as we create future videos. Wishing you a wonderful day!
I am glad that whoever created this video did so. I have been listening to a lot of others on various videos encouraging their listeners to de-clutter by getting rid of stuff that I myself wouldn't want to for the same reasons you said, including items of sentimental value. Those are the items I would not want to part with the most, and yet I heard them explaining that taking pictures on the phone is a good way to keep those memories alive without actually keeping them while accomplishing the goal of de-cluttering. Sorry, but I don't want to handle my sentimental items in such a depersonaliized way. I want to keep them, not file them away as an image on a phone. I also agree with you about holding onto excess linens in case of having to use them for emergencies like soaking up spills as I have had occasion to use them for. It is good to have extra kitchen utensils too for all the reasons you said. I can understand parting with half of six sets of measuring spoons, but if you do a lot of baking, you will find yourself needing two extra sets at certain times so I would not consider holding onto three sets as excessive. I agree 100 percent with the information you presented for all the reasons you stated. This is an excellent video. No one should be made to feel like a hoarder if he has every good reason to keep his things. Give careful consideration before deciding to discard your excess and you won't find yourself regretting or having to purchase something again because you thought you didn't need it.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and kind words! It means a lot to hear that this video resonated with you and validated your feelings about holding onto sentimental items. You’re absolutely right-sentimental pieces often hold so much meaning that a photo could never replace. Keeping those cherished items is a deeply personal decision, and it’s wonderful to hear that you honor those connections. I also completely agree with your point about practical extras, like linens and utensils. Life has a way of throwing unexpected spills and kitchen needs at us, and having those backups can be such a lifesaver! I’m so glad you found this video helpful and aligned with your perspective. It’s all about finding balance-keeping what truly serves you and brings you joy, while making space for a home that feels calm and manageable. Thank you for being part of this community, and I hope the tips here continue to support you in creating a space that’s uniquely yours!

I'm a packrat!!! Live alone except for my cat! Have trouble cleaning kitchen. No room under bed for storage. Crocher, have lots of yarn, but have trouble storimg. HET
Hi there, fellow yarn lover! 🧶 First of all, don’t worry-being a packrat just means you love your treasures, and that’s okay! Living alone with your cat can make organizing feel like a big task, but small steps can make a big difference. For your yarn, consider clear bins or stackable drawers. They don’t take up much floor space and let you see your colorful collection at a glance. You could even repurpose a bookshelf to store yarn neatly-rolling the yarn into "cakes" makes it look tidy and lets you show off those beautiful colors. A hanging organizer for closets could also be a great way to keep your yarn sorted by type or project. Since there’s no room under your bed for storage, you might try vertical solutions like a corner shelf or a storage cart on wheels. That way, you can move it around when you’re working on a project and tuck it away when you’re done. For the kitchen, start with one small area-like one drawer or a single counter. Declutter a little at a time, and soon, you’ll feel more space open up. Even a few hooks inside cabinet doors can give you extra room for utensils or towels. Lastly, give your cat a little yarn-free zone-it might help keep your projects safe and give you both some creative space. You’ve got this, and we’re cheering you on! 🐾✨
Half of the items mentioned never were in my home.
That's a great starting point! It sounds like you're already ahead of the game when it comes to keeping your home clutter-free. Everyone's journey is different, and not all items on these lists will apply to every home. The goal is to offer inspiration for those who might need it and to celebrate the progress you've already made in creating a space that works perfectly for you!
Terrible job !
I'm sorry to hear you feel that way! We value all feedback and are always looking for ways to improve. If there's something specific you think could be better or more helpful, please let us know. Your input makes our content stronger and more relevant for everyone! 😊
Why is this list restricted to seniors? These are logical tips for everyone.
You’re absolutely right-these tips can be helpful for anyone looking to simplify and organize their kitchen! While the video is tailored to seniors, focusing on ease, safety, and practicality, the principles apply universally. Thank you for pointing that out-it’s great to know these suggestions resonate beyond the intended audience. Organization and simplicity truly are for everyone! 😊
Thank you for sharing
