There are two mistakes those close to Maxwell Sheffield will never let him forget: passing on Cats, and taking back his first "I love you" to Fran. (And I agree that that is a "worse", i.e., more hurtful, thing to do than to simply say, "I love you but I'm not quite ready for marriage.) But to be fair to him, Fran was out to snare him as a husband pretty much from day one. She says, in between his first "I love you" and his taking it back, "After three years of working it, I mean, working there, I had finally gotten him to say it." HE didn't even consider that they were dating until Season 5 (I think - though, I think he did admit the "spark" was there.) What is also weird is, she does not say "I love you" back to him either time he says it ("A Pup in Paris" or "Not Without My Nanny.")
@@jessicalillianweinberg4401 Also, the REAL reason Mr. Sheffield blurted out “I love you” to Fran was because they were on a plane and he thought he was going to die; usually when death is staring people in the face, they do things that they wouldn’t do in a normal situation. If I was Fran, I would heavily question whether the first time would even count.
@@jessicalillianweinberg4401 technically she did tell him first but she was under medicine and being prepped for surgery she also accidentally almost blurted it out to him after Paris when she got with her cousin “it took me 3 years to fall in love yo- um......yoo-hoos” also he also always suspected she loved him or had a crush on him.(he knew that about c.c too) I think the whole point is he knew how she felt but she didn’t know how he felt and it drove her crazy. The Nanny is always one of my go-to shows when I'm really struggling. My eternal gratitude to all involved, from the company that funded it, through the actors, all the way to the people who served the coffee. Thank you
this could be one of the funniest sitcom scenes I've ever seen :)) also you have to know the context to fully appreciate the "LET'S JUST HOPE HE DOESN't TAKE IT BACK" choir. absolutely hillarious.
Between Fran and Sylvia, everyone knows about that? This is kind of in fanfic (or "Fran fic") territory - but I kind of have this idea sometimes that there was something going on between Niles and CC long before the end of season 6 - and they were hiding it. And this clip gives you an idea of why, if they didn't want all of New York to know, they would try to keep Fran and Sylvia from finding out (but not why they then did decide to reveal it in season 6.)
I wonder if the news got around to someone who was connected with those thieves/muggers who attack Max - if they had been told he would have a ring with him.
Such a great show ,at the time it was on ,i was young and really didnt think much of it being a young bloke with a world to explore but now i watch it on TV and its really good ,cute comedy ,Nanny fine is so pretty and has such amazing fashion taste ,i love the nostalgic memories of a time when the world i think was a lot more of a innocent and pure place ..

I'll be honest - at first I thought was going to be a "mash-up" fan video instead of all being from the real show. Am I the only one who thought of the "Telephone Hour" number from the musical Bye Bye Birdie? The Nanny is something of a nod to The Sound of Music, albeit in more modern times and certainly not under Nazi rule, and there are a lot of musical theatre references and plots (well, Max and CC are producers, after all). I read that there had been "talk of a stage musical" in one article. I can SO see that!
