    I have seen Chicago no less than eight times in concert and am constantly amazed at their energy. These guys come to play and they don't fool around. No breaks. No endless stage chatter. It's just one tune after another. Their music is great, they enjoy what they do and they clearly appreciate their fans. Play on, brothers. Play on.

    We saw them in Tucson, AZ two weeks ago tonight and the concert was awesome. We’ve seen them quite a few times since 1990 and this was one of the best shows.....the music was awesome.....the band was really into the show. We met them afterwards and they cheered my wife when she thanked them for 50 + years of music that we love. Yeah, they’ve changed but who hasn’t. They aren’t just “making do” with replacement players...they are all are incredible musicians.

    I saw them last week in Stamford, Ct. Their energy, stamina and talent is off the chart. I've been playing your videos over and over. I used to play their big orange 8-track tape every day while driving my brand new dark blue 1968 Dodge Dart. All the Boomers in the audience were transported back to happier times. Thanks for posting your beautiful videos.

      I was almost 33 when I saw them in 2015, and I felt that vibe, knowing this was the music my parents came of age listening to (both parents got me into Chicago early in my own life). I saw people dancing in the crowd to Colour My World, not one of my favorites, but you could feel the love there. And I was on my feet and singing along with the rest of the audience the whole night. It felt amazing to probably be the youngest there, and know what great music is supposed to sound and feel like.

    I love how the original members kept true to the Chicago sound....after Terry Kath died,,, and the Peter Cetera David Foster EGO show of the 1980s....it is nice to see that despite all the changes....horns are still being played in a 2017 clip. Terry Kath is missed so much even after all these years RIP !!!

    I love "Ballet For a Girl in Buchanan," it is the greatest way to start a Chicago concert! The almost "jam" session part is awesome. I leaned over to my mom while Ray Herrmann was playing the flute and said "If you think my saxophone skills are impressive, watch me play the flute!" We refer to Lee as "The Sensitive One" because of all the times he cried during the documentary. So amazing, I get chills everytime and this never gets old!

    They do look like they are happy and having fun again. Perhaps a new album in the future. The additions to the group are spot on, Keith is one of the best pickers I have heard, keyboards are awesome, the guy that took Jasons place is awesome. Water I guess retired for health reasons and his replacement is awesome. Some many lead singers in the group, is what they were originally. Robert Lamm still sounds as great as ever. The expanded drum section has really improved their sound. I am so glad they are still making music cause I am still listening and still a big fan.

    I know people like to knock that original players are no longer with the band, yes it's always great to see them, but a band, no matter how long they been together or what members have been in at a certain time, are still a band. They still continue with 3 original members and current lineup who show respect to the legacy of the band. Very few bands of this era or even current have all their original members. More power to them to keep going on.

    This particular band resembles the original Chicago vocal strength. Lou Pardini and Jeff Coffey are great additions. Last time I saw Chicago, Bill Champlin was with them. They sounded like a Chicago tribute band.
    I would go see these guys.

    • @lynntempleton9640
      @lynntempleton9640 6 років тому +4

      Champlin was an excellent musician and a good songwriter, but a whiny vocalist. Pardini is far superior for their sound.

    • @AllisonDancerChick1982
      @AllisonDancerChick1982 6 років тому +2

      Love Pardini - we saw him in 2015, and I'm glad we did. He really captures the right sound. Nothing against Champlain though, he had a great voice on the songs they recorded during his time with them, but anything he covered didn't always sound right. Pardini gets as close to the original recordings as one could possibly get.

      I've realized after viewing a lot of videos that Bill Champlin is the reason I totally lost interest in this group for 30 years. Once they decided to recreate the energy of the early years and hired to that, bang they're back.

    2:00 ...Oh my God!!! This is a side of Chicago that you almost never hear. You will never hear this on the radio. I don't know if this was even ever released on anything (anyone correct me if I'm wrong). This shows you what they can really do when left to their own devices!
    Now you've got to listen to the whole thing. Because yes the very beginning is, normal and on every record in the world. It's what comes after that which is special. It's like they just totally let loose and become musicians... Free-form!
    And then, of course, it turns into one of the most amazingly beautiful songs they ever recorded!

    ...nothing wrong with Robert Lamm and the original horn section... dem guys ! ...there's nobody like them, never be anybody like them, they'll be buried next to each other with their instruments... to me, Mr. Lamm sounded a bit like Terry Kath in parts... I believe Robert Lamm stated somewhere, in a UA-cam or Article , that Terry was his Hero... so it wouldn't surprise me if Robert, and his keyboards, and his voice, were touched by a Loving Presence...
    ...I like hearing The Real Chicago Boys here... for their age, they're really tearing it up... and I feel like I have to treasure these moments because there's so few moments left, when I'll be able to hear THEM... When they're gone, their unique sound, the sound of the Chicago I Love, goes with them... time just moves too fast...
    I believe that this, the Chicago Band above, without Terry Kath, and Danny Seraphine, is disabled somewhat (as like myself)), and listening earlier to Chicago's birth days, "Chicago Transit Authority" Tubes, and earlier stuff, etc... and then playing this Tube... it might just be my medication, but, it seems I can just hear the sounds of the real band breaking through the supporting staff... and it excites me! ...but I so too hear what's missing and it saddens me...
    You are so Loved Terry Kath, Thank You for your Music, your Legacy... it never gets old, and you still amaze me...
    Danny Seraphine, You too are Loved, and missed greatly, by me anyway, and it's frustrating to know your still alive and drumming, but not with your true band mates... I say again, Life is too short for inconsequential, insignificant, superficial, etc... nonsense! When I listen to your stuff, I want to drag you by the ear to where you belong... not to put the new guy down but, forgeddaboudit! ...there's no one who can take your place, not ever in a trillion years... give the job to the man who's right for the job, who does the job best, who's been playing the gig for 50 or so years, who partly gave birth to the Band and the Music... am I missin' somethin' ?!?!
    ...it's just Stupid already! sheeze!
    Anyway's... Thanks Danny Seraphine, from a Big Fan... you were great at the Hall-of-Fame Gig, by the way, nice job! Hope you're still drumming at least.. later! - Johnny B. from Brooklyn.

    Ok..is anyone else BLOWN AWAY by Robert Lamm's tattoos?? I've followed Chicago for years, and have never known him to have full blown arm sleeve tattoos on both arms. Are they real? And if so, A.) When did this happen? and B.) Not to judge...but isn't he a little old for the Nikki Sixx look??

      I don't think they're real. I think that is a long sleeve tee-shirt.

      I think so too, I think I see a red cuff at the wrist. I know someone that has some kind of condition on her arm and wears a compression type of sleeve all of the time, sometimes she wears one that looks like tattoos all over her arm, he could have something like this... or maybe just wanted to have fun with it. So funny to see this all over his arm. I believe it is not a tattoo.

      I was thinking, "Damn, Lamm is a badass!" and then I saw the cuffs.

    Lou Pardini is such a great replacement, vocally, for Terry Kath

      I saw other videos where he didn’t sound as good singing other songs, but he sounds and looks great here. Jim’s trombone positions look disconcerting though, and apparently Arnold Schwarzenegger is their saxophone and flute player.

    Lou Pardini sings Make Me Smile better than Bill Champin. Not Terry Kath, but nobody is.

      I agree. His voice is closer to Kath's than Champlain's ever was.

      Champlain was a joke... Lou sings this much much better and closer to Terry. The only person that sings this better is Lamm but he won’t do it for emotional reasons (or so I’ve read). Lamm has only sung this song twice on stage and one is on UA-cam if you look.

      Unfortunately, I think Champlin reduced Kath's songs to lounge acts!

    they could very well not even be tattoos, but compression sleeves, which eliminate chronic aches in the arm joints of musicians from constant repetition of movement. Lamm suggested that the band performed over 200 shows in 2017 alone.
