@@Itsfaiza95 hahah i dont think beauty products are a necessity honestly, you can get along life perfectly fine with the bare minimum if thats what works for you!
yooooooo you're so right! the best part about shopping in Korea (doesn't even pertain to just skincare) is the freebies! I got freebies from the convenient stores, skincare companies, skincare big box stores, supermarkets! i really need to try the Acropads!
I've been using the COSRX pimple patches since 2016 and it works wonders! I always wanted to try other brands but after watching your review on the other 2 - I think I'll stick to COSRX haha. Thanks for that.
I've been watching series of your videos about traveling to Korea. I'm flying there next month, thanks to your videos, I learned a lot of what to do and expect. Btw, what's tax refund? Do you have to intentionally ask for the tax refund(when you know you buy quite an amount) or the cashier will tell you if you get to have the tax refund? Anyway, I really like your videos, I wonder why your videos haven't blown up yet🤔, all of them are very helpful. I subscribed, I hope you're still enjoying editing and posting videos. This is a potential channel
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I’m so glad that you find them helpful :) For the tax refund, it is applicable to tax-free stores (there’s usually a sign at the storefront to indicate such), but it really depends on where you are for how they go about processing it. If you are in a tourist heavy area, like myeongdong or hongdae, the sales associate will more often than not, prompt you for your passport to get the refund right there. Otherwise, you can use process the receipts at the airport but I would allot some time to do it. You can find more info on the process here: english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SHP/SH_ENG_1_1.jsp
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy that was very helpful! I think I'll keep the receipt to get the refund at the airport when I'm flying back home. Anyway, I'm going to Gwangjin-gu after arriving at the airport in the morning. Is there any train nearby the airport to Gwangjin-gu or should I take the bus? I saw videos that saying taking taxi or call for a car is much more expensive, so, they recommend to use public transportation. Maybe you can make a video about this, how much does it cost to take a bus? Anyway, just a video idea, no pressure. Tysm for the reply, wish you have a great day today 💖
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmywow that is super nifty to know about! I was really not expecting to learn something about Korean taxes in this video haha. Thank you so much for the tips and product reviews. Very helpful 😊
TY so much for sharing what is worth looking for in korea! I was afraid of the glass serum bottles exploding during transit. How did you package and bring it back so it wouldn't explode due to air pressure?
You’ll be restricted by the TSA liquid limit, which is a quart-sized bag of liquids that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item, so it really depends on what you want to buy and how much of it
There are a lot of fashion jewelry stores in hongdae. When i visited last year, myeongdong was still very dead but i heard it’s reviving a bit. The olive young flagship in gangnam is supposed to be really nice though
Unfortunately i bought most of these as one-offs so the total was never enough to claim the tax refund :( i think i got it once at innisfree but they did it in store
Can either of you explain this to me? On purchases of a certain amount you don’t have to pay taxes? Also how does it work getting your purchases back to the states?
Skincare and beauty products are obviously my weakness when it comes to shopping. What’s yours?
I would say I've never had any beauty products in my life still now 😂😬 which is a bad thing 😂

I didnt have any issues with pressure..i packed everything as-is in their boxes and just stuffed them in and around my clothes haha
I’m gonna have to try daiso us
Daiso us recently increased their prices to $1.75😭
Are there any restrictions in bringing it back to the US in carryon? Or, do I have to check it?

Is myeongdang the best place for cosmetics haul? Where can I buy affordable fashion jewelry

Where did you get the kahi balm? Is that sold everywhere in Seoul?
I got mine at olive young which can be found everywhere in Korea! I think it’s available at other similar retailers like lalavla and chicor
were you able to claim tax free on these items?
