  • Listen to the Show on all Podcast Apps "Club Random with Bill Maher" podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...
Bill Maher and Kid Rock randomly riff on Kid Rock’s favorite part of Real Time, Bill’s take on Kid Rock’s song and the Let’s Go Brandon chant, how Kid Rock thinks we need to get back to being kind to each other, which musicians are funny, how Bill loves the song Low Life, how Kid Rock reminds Bill of his dog Chico, the very special gift Kid Rock gives Bill for Club Random, how Bill likes that Kid lives without apology, Bill explains ghosting, why it’s important to NOT discuss Trump, and great music that gets made when Detroit merges with the South.

Kid Rock is great in this episode. I love when Bill says, "It's like a relationship - you know - or a marriage..." and Kid Rock interrupts him and says, "Two things you know nothing about, educate me Bill...". That was priceless!!!

so we've ONLY concluded neither one can give advice about marriage then. mmmmmkay. actually you don't have to be married to give advice. Priests are always giving marriage advice. It's like telling a doctor he cannot give advice about cancer because he never had it. One can study and observe. But anyway have a great 4th. I'll be jamming to some Kid Rock too.

@@BillieJolene1except Bill hasn't studied how to be IN a relationship or a marriage, only how to NOT be in either.
A priest on the other hand, studies Scripture, which includes marriage, parenthood & neighbors.
Anyone seeking a priest's advice would also presumably believe in Scripture so one would turn to a priest for a higher degree of understanding of what Scripture says.
I've personally never asked for marriage/relationship advice from someone who hates both & not only actively seeks to avoid them, but also has not experienced them.
I do, however, listen up when someone who's had unsuccessful marriage(s) or 1 truly great 1, speaks up on how to ruin or sustain one. 😁

Exactly. Very unusual for Trump fans. Why is it so hard for Trump fans to understand the purpose of having two sides? Like the Nazi's they only want their one side. Trump hates anybody that disagrees with him and so do his followers. They just assume there be no d
Democrats and only Republicans? Even after the history of success of having both Democrats and Republicans parties.

I had the pleasure to work security twice for Kid Rock & both times I was treated with the upmost respect by both his crew but the fans too. I got to personally guard one of my original music heroes, Rev Run of Run DMC. He put on a couple hour show that had a variety of rock, rap, country & blues. People can disagree with his viewpoints but he wasn’t afraid to go out back & sign autographs while his supporting act turned people away & threatened to beat their fans up. He’s got my respect.

Your version of Kid Rock is the total opposite of the one I met. I did street team work on a few Warped Tours including the one he was on. EVERYBODY hated him. He was a massive a-hole to everyone on that tour. His security were jerks. This was a tour filled with punk bands. Everyone mingled, hung out. Like a big summer camp. Not Kid Rock. He acted like a spoiled diva. Stayed on his bus most of the time. He refused to acknowledge the other artists, was often followed by beefy security who wouldn't let you get near him (like he ALWAYS does because he is not a badass whatsoever - go look up his arrest where he had his security beat up people as he watched). The ONLY people he seemed to acknowledge were girls, a bunch being underage (which he has rapped about being into). No autograph signing. Remained mostly on the bus, played his set and then left. No other artist on that tour was like that except for the singer of the band The Used. Andrew WK also played one year. The guy hung out with everyone. Even went to 7-11 with some fans. He was the last to leave. Hung out with a group of us for hrs after the show. That guy got my respect.
You also mention his viewpoints....Kid Rock writes songs condemning others for having different opinions. Go look at 99% of his other interviews. Interviews with right wingers.

No, Bill, it’s not just his attitude. It’s most Gen X. We were taught that elementary school phrase, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” Now it’s becoming absolutely ridiculous.

That phrase was probably the most heard phrase of my childhood. These days they will argue that words are hurtful which may be true but the spirit of that phrase and why it was taught to kids is the important thing. Basically don't give up and fall apart over name-calling. Telling kids names have no effect on you is better than telling them to be a victim that needs therapy.

    • @jacobkubacki2719

Absolutely right! Guess what though? We’re starting to get to that age where we get to be in charge, Maybe Gen X can straighten this crazy shit out? I can dream can’t I? We used to make fun of each other’s stereotypes & then grade them to how original and funny it was. Black culture was coming into fashion & they didn’t all have to be gangsters to be great. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that original genre. It was unique & new. I remember getting a bootleg of Straight Out of Compton & getting a thrill to hear a bunch of swear words. It wasn’t normal back then & was meant to piss off the squares. Same with all the great rock & metal from the late 60’s to the 90’s that were all about exposing corruption and giving the finger to the establishment. We weren’t perfect by far but we got along for the most part.

    • @Stephanie-yb5io
      @Stephanie-yb5io Рік тому +18

I had to say that to myself over a million times in my childhood because I was called names everyday. We didn’t have “safe places”. We learned to suck it up and grow a thicker skin. We didn’t go to therapy because people were mean. We learned people are mean, period. It is only our parents and siblings that care about our feelings. That’s why I like dogs more then people. 😂

I STILL hate Bill Mahar (self important prick), but I can tolerate him more today...it's not that his politics have changed, it's that he's older. Bob was TRYING to rattle his cage, and Bill wasn't having it....I would have liked to have seen it. Bob has a razor sharp wit, and for all of Bill's TALK about both sides getting along, Bob knows about the "other side" infinitely more than Bill. Bob has bow hunted with Ted Nugent, and voted for Obama....that dichotomy will, and never has existed in Bill's world.

@@bmc5015 it’s the drugs and the ego. They don’t mix well. I find it impossible to imagine Bill has that many regular friends that are dying to hang out if he’s this scatterbrained in rl when inebriated. If so they are just holding on his coat tails. I like Bill but first rule of a talk show is letting the guests atleast get their thoughts out, if not let them direct the conversation if your not grilling them..
Good job on the podcast so far Bill but if you do by any chance review feedback or become aware of it, catch yourself a little more on the interrupting. It becomes clear your next thought in queue is held with great value than your guests current thought. Gets irritating. Fixing this would make this podcast near oerfect!

I met Kid Rock back in 98 during his devil without a cause tour.
i was a local rodie ill never forget how down to earth he was. Me being used to working around famous musicians i had never really been a person to be star struck in most cases you find out or come to realize how egotistical most of these ppl become, but out of many, many musicians and straight rock stars ill never forget how humble,
kind, and laid back Bob was. i remember having a pass on that allowed me to go anywhere ,but my girlfriend on the other hand was only aloud so far. all i wanted to do was get a photo meeting the pimp of the nation it was the first musician that i felt i could identify with because we had several things in common we looked alot of alike, we were both the same age, we shared the same last name, we both had a son a son at the age of 22 he was like the successful version of myself. i didn't even know who kid rock was at the age of 22 in 1993 but my son was still nsmed Robert James Richey we spell our last name a differently even our family upbringing were very similar his father was a successful car salesman who owned his own business my father also very successful as a self made business man the only thing that were different is he took his dream and made it happen i was lazy and always thought i had time to do whatever i decided i wanted to do i was held back by woman, and drugs thinking i had plenty of time boy was i wrong i still love Kid rock or Bob Ritchie he's always been a constant reminder of what happens when you dont realize just how short life is, and if you have a dream of being an entertainer or really anything you only have a short window of time to prove just how much talent and time to promote yourself there's no room for procrastinating when your dream is to be a entertainer bob Ritchie is still a constiint reminder of just how bad do you want it ? There's always going to be someone who is prepared to work harder and to sacrifice more than you. i fell asleep listening to this podcast i was dreaming if hanging out with bob and feeling like such a failure but he was as kind and polite as he could be will never forget the night he treated me like a human being i told him i thought my girl was behind me with the camera this was in 98 before smart😂 phones he was in s trailer way behind the stage he had flew in from Chicago and was the headliner thst night i finally found my girl and took the camera from her Bob was cool, and had one of his girls tske pics. being a roadie i new how it was i didn't want to wear out my welcome but still to this day the most humble, and laid back rock star infact imo kid rock was the last real authentic Rock Star left just look at sll the musicians before him who have such respect i truly believe Bob Ritchie didn't take his success for granted that man worked his ass off and stayed completely focused hes self made and loved and respected by so many at 52 he still gets to live the life ppl dream of everything is smooth sailing from here God bless you Bobby you get what you put in and ppl get what they deserve 🤘🏼😜🤘🏼

Normally I would just leave one comment my first one came after watching about a third of this cast,, which is my second complete episode outstanding Bill Maher,, I love the fact that you invited us into a closer look at your world.. I hope you continue spearhead the movement on getting us all invited back to the table for conversation,, we should never forget that being one of our greatest American ideals to be able to disagree have the opportunity to talk and work things out but at the end of the day as we walk out give a handshake and hug and it's all good.. as I am a year younger than Kid Rock growing up it came to first know who you were when you acted in DC cab,, always watched you when you had Politically Incorrect watch that episode after 9/11 then followed you over 2 HBO,, honestly as I said in my first comment you lost me for a while, but I'm glad that I stumbled on to your podcast with Gene Simmons now this kid rock interview is the second cast I watched in its entirety.. Dude I think this is your best show you've created yet.As far as the format, platform and presentation.. let's keep the table open for discussion for everybody,, because when we stop talking is when the fighting would begin and I think none of us really want to see that here.. We're better than that as a whole and I would think we're more evolved than that in this day and age... Bravo man I give you a lot of credit !!!!
    Awesome show !
