  • @luisagf1385
    @luisagf1385 Рік тому +50

    I remembered when I discovered Childish Gambino through this is America. As a recent immigrant to the U.S. at the time, the music video perfectly encapsulated the raw fear I had and pure delusion that all Americans seemed to live in. Watching the video was a sigh of relief: "I'm not crazy, people really ARE ignoring all of this chaos around us."
    I am now watching Community for the first time and discovering a face of Donald that I never had--a funny, great actor that puts his heart into the silliest and deepest scenes alike. I had no idea he barely had any tv experience prior to the show!
    As an aspiring writer, I think the most touching lesson I've taken from Donald is that last sentence: "no one is going to outdo you at being you." Be yourself, and, most importantly, believe in yourself.

I immediately didnt like it .Dont know why. Every time I heard the song, I liked it better. The song wore me down. One day, it was on the radio and I finally looked up to see who Childish Gambino was. Donald Glover. He was on his second series, Atlanta, He had written for 30Rock. This video summarizes why Donald Glover is my favorite artist of all time because he's mastered so many mediums and never settled on fitting into a "box". Plus, besides J. Cole, he's like the only black "rapper" of his generation that graduated from college, showing that you don't have to completely drop everything in your life to pursue a career in the arts/entertainment if you have the talent, work ethic, and at the right place at the right time.

He and Tyler the Creator really embody the same unrelenting creativity to me, I see a lot of parallels between them. I'd love to see them work together. No matter the field of the project, you just know it would be breathtaking.
    Something that has stayed with me ever since Camp released is the outro to That Power. "I told you something. It was just for you and you told everybody. I hate to say it but not really I’ve never heard of him or watched anything. He’s ever done until just now. I’m so glad that my life does not revolve around television, Twitter, and UA-cam that I literally just use it as passing by. He’s very gifted.

    I'am not used to commenting below youtube videos, but honestly it is one of the best video i've ever seen ! The research behind it, the editing, the story telling, etc... Man from the bottom of my earth you deserve so much more recognition as a creator. You just won a new follower, and I'm so sad that my French ytb algorithm hasn't recommended your videos before... I'm gonna watch them all for sure !!

    For a video that has such a HIGH quality, I was expecting this channel to have at least 100k subs but I was surprised that it's just reaching 40k. What an well crafted video, with Donald being one of my favorites artist & all, it was obvious I was going to click on it because I'm inspired by his creativity. Keep up the good work. This will have 1million views soon enough!👍🏽

    I think mr. Donald glover would make a PHENOMENAL father. The way he interacts & talks about kids & how caring has ALWAYS stood out to me.

    Impeccable production on this video. Not just packed with information, but with countless visual and audio references to make it all so easy to absorb - especially with how focused each beat of the script was. And on top of that, the pacing, music and inflection took it beyond information - it become a real story. World-class work.

    I love Donald Glover and genuinely think that he’s one of the most talented individuals to ever live. I first saw him on community during its original run and his portrayal of Troy Barnes made the show one of my favorites to this day. However, I watched the first season of Atlanta recently and while I do think it’s a fantastic show and I really enjoyed the first season, I don’t think that it is one of the most influential shows of the century.

    Community first aired exactly at the same time I was feeling uninspired by my job and went back to college. It was a small class full of other people around the same age who went back to school for various reasons. One of the guys in my class told us about this new show called Community and insisted we all watch it. "It's us! It's us!" Hahaha that show was so brilliant and we all loved it.
    Still one of my favorite shows ever and Troy's meltdown over meeting Levar Burton is still one of my favorite episodes of anything ever 😂

    You'll always hear artists or actors also labeled as writers, producers, directors etc and often they're shallow titles, Gambino legitimately did all of those things and more to the highest degree and I don't know if we will ever see someone do what he’s done again.

    I been listening to gambino since middle school and I ALWAYS loved his art and style. I wouldn’t consider him slept on and more of a self made man that you don’t really see on billboards because he chooses to bring art and not top 10 hits for his numbere
