Also I am a fan of tenacious D but Jack Black was always a Hack and I wasn’t shocked when he went of the rails. “Passion for performance often simply means a unending hunger to be the center of attention” the difference between actual artists and attention grabbers is artists like miles Davis intentionally do new things they don’t just fall into what they believe is contrarian. Because at some point as you get older if your a contrarian you don’t realize that you’re not doing the something contrary your just doing what the propaganda tells you is rebellious which is usually the epitome of being part of the heard.

Oh yeah? He seems to be a typical Jewish Hollyweird elite to me, you can see it all throughout this video. Did you go to a private highschool, was your Brother a record exec? Was your step dad in the movie biz? Did your mom have enough money for you to steal a cocain habit? Do you promote trans, have a bunch of artwork of the devil and make it seem cool in your favorite (non) rock group that's you and your buddy? He's clearly a democrat elite, hollyweirdo and above and beyond all else - part of a tribe that you'll never be part of, you can't be. He's not an everyman by any means

I agree. I wanted to be a Musician. I played Piano 1st, then guitar. My Dad said Women musicians don't make $$. Yes they do. I can play but I can't sing or write lyrics. I went into the Medical Field. With Piano I wanted to go to NYC & go to Julliard. I wanted to play the Piano for the NYC Philharmonic. I still play the guitar but work is very intense. Its always like blood, people dying, motorcycle accidents. Its just too much. When I was 17 I had 2 like 60 year old guys tell me I sounded like the guitar player from Queen. I had to Google him. I was so mad. I like Kurt Cobain, David Gilmour. The Cure & Robert Smith. A lot of music I like is B4 my time. There is an Austrailan band called Mixed up Everything. 4 Brothers- I think the oldest is 24. They play original stuff & all 90's stuff. They have a YT music channel; The 1st song they did the oldest Brother was 17 & the youngest was 13. It's called Little Talent. It is so good. They wrote all the lyrics & music - unreal. I wish I had 3 sisters to start a band. Oh well.

Jack Black is a wonderful lesson in being yourself. It's so common for someone to not know their path, and even if you find it, you may shy away and not give it your all. When you finally uncage yourself do you finally show what you are and can achieve. Not just to others, but to yourself, and that's certainly a wonderful thing.
Same goes with Dodford. This kind of doc isn't the most common thing online. But in putting the spin in the videos of the subject giving the story themselves through archive footage, as well as incredible pacing and editing, well that's what makes these some of the best work around.

You know, i just realized how much importance Jack Black has had in my life...
Because in my home town, the School Of Rock movie is what sparked the idea to start our city's own music program. A kind of club for teenagers, where professional musicians teach playing instruments and band practice. I joined it as i heard about it being advertised in my school. I was 14, had been playing drums since 11 and now got a chance to play in a band.
I had a passion for music pretty much from the moment i saw The Offspring on MTV at 3 years old in 1995. Never looked back, music is still my whole life at 32. Well, i do love comedy too, but weirdly not when these two are mixed. Anyway, thank you Jack.

Now he really doesn't fit in, I hope he gets rid of politics from his music. I remember once he said in an interview that rock and roll was "always a Democrat thing" and he's going to "take it back from the Republicans"
News flash everybody, Rock has always been anti-establishment, doesn't matter what nonsensical political party you're a part of, left right any myriad of any of the other goofier ones, what matters is fighting the system, talking about your freedoms that are being taken away by that system, social activism is garbage compared to actual acts and deeds

    • @nolansyers

Yea, it's wild what the last few years did to divide what I thought was a "universal truth" amongst musicians. Rock was our way of going against the grain of society. I only listen to musicians now who kept their mouths shut during all the bullshit, and unfortunately it's getting smaller.

I remember when I rented High Fidelity, back when people used to rent movies. I did it because I sort of liked John Cusack. Then shortly into the movie, this crazy man came on I couldn't take my eyes off
of him. He had sort of a small part, but he dominated every scene he was in. I kept wondering who he was, but I waited until the end of the movie to find out because it was a VHS tape and I didn't want to have to fast forward all the way to the end and then rewind back to where I was. I didn't really think the movie itself was very good, but I looked forward to all of Jack Black's parts. I heard about School of Rock and couldn't wait to see it. In fact, I bought it on DVD without watching it first because I knew it would be good.
