Yea, it's wild what the last few years did to divide what I thought was a "universal truth" amongst musicians. Rock was our way of going against the grain of society. I only listen to musicians now who kept their mouths shut during all the bullshit, and unfortunately it's getting smaller.
I have been a big fan of Jack Black since I was in elementary school after seeing School House of rock. The title alone spoke to me and after finishing the video I even grew emotional. It shows it's okay to not fit in, everyone brings something special to the world.--Thank you so much for sharing your awesome work!🤗
I just watched this very inspirational story about Jack Black. I had no idea his parents were rocket scientists! I remember when I rented High Fidelity, back when people used to rent movies. I did it because I sort of liked John Cusack. Then shortly into the movie, this crazy man came on I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He had sort of a small part, but he dominated every scene he was in. I kept wondering who he was, but I waited until the end of the movie to find out because it was a VHS tape and I didn't want to have to fast forward all the way to the end and then rewind back to where I was. I didn't really think the movie itself was very good, but I looked forward to all of Jack Black's parts. I heard about School of Rock and couldn't wait to see it. In fact, I bought it on DVD without watching it first because I knew it would be good.

Yea, it's wild what the last few years did to divide what I thought was a "universal truth" amongst musicians. Rock was our way of going against the grain of society. I only listen to musicians now who kept their mouths shut during all the bullshit, and unfortunately it's getting smaller.
I get goosebumps from your videos! The editing and everything is perfect, i dont understand how you do it
I know you’re doing Robin next, but this made me want a Bob Odenkirk one too!
Your videos are simple but perfect . Not over complicated but with the perfect amount of detail. I’ll be here when the 1 mil subs hit
The line that hit me the most was at 11:00
"I can rock, but it has to be funny!"
There are channels that have 10 times the subs with production and editing only half as good as this. Great work!
Yeah he doesen't fit being Minecraft Steve
I have been a big fan of Jack Black since I was in elementary school after seeing School House of rock. The title alone spoke to me and after finishing the video I even grew emotional. It shows it's okay to not fit in, everyone brings something special to the world.--Thank you so much for sharing your awesome work!🤗
RIght right, the rock of sniveling apology is what makes him stick out so much
The Goat retuns🐐 1 vid a month quality tho
more soon in the pipeline 🤫
YESSSS
And then it all went to shit a few days ago in sydney ….
What happened?
what a coincidence that this video came out just after the Sydney incident..
@@nem3732 Jack Black ate Kyle Gass' balls onstage... then tried to blame him for it.
bingo
@@nem3732 His buddy called for violence against Trump and Jack laughed his ass off
I learned today that he became close friends with John Cusask in the 90's and later acted beside his sister JOAN Cusack in School of Rock.
You can be a government shill, but don’t pretend to be metal or punk rock after.
That final edit where the older Jack's kick meshes with the younger Jack's landing was smooth; good job overall.
The editing and pacing of this video is REALLY damn good dude, keep it up!
I just watched this very inspirational story about Jack Black. I had no idea his parents were rocket scientists! It’s truly remarkable what he continues to do with the background he has and the success he’s achieved. I’m a big fan of all of his work and think he’s an icon. I can’t wait to see what he does next.
You were working on this for months I imagine. Such unfortunate timing.
Holy shit the editing on this. The J's and L's and choice/time to curate the footage. chefs kiss 10/10
HE deleted his apology about Trump, of course he did mean it
I remember when I rented High Fidelity, back when people used to rent movies. I did it because I sort of liked John Cusack. Then shortly into the movie, this crazy man came on I couldn't take my eyes off
of him.
Another great video! Amazing quality as always, and it's hella imperssive that you managed to make it on the road and keep your trademark quality
🔥🔥🔥
What timing you have!!
He's an interesting one because I can't think of many actors who are on the same level of "Basically just playing themselves" in every role.
the rock
Jim carry, Ryan Reynolds, Adam Sandler
Not sure how I only just discovered you, but you got my sub! Jables has been a hero of mine since I was a wee lad🖤 just be yourselves people✌🏼
the editing though! great work, this was highly complex and your story telling through edits its fantastic
The fucking timing on releasing this video, great fucking luck
Perfect if u ask me 😊
"You are never too young to rock, you are never too young to be awesome, and you are never too old to be young"
What a guy! All his succes is well deserved
That cut at the end gave me chills
I loved to see Jack Black's career so well explain, but I wasn't expecting this quality, I must say this video editing is amazing!
I always LOVED Jack Black. Between Guitar Hero and School of Rock.... was my introduction to rock music. I'm a black girl from North Carolina like.... how else was I gonna find songs like Cliffs of Dover and One. My friends would clown me for loving Metallica and The Black Flag and Death..... but after School of Rock man.... everybody was on. It's like the most positive cultural propagandizing from a movie ever, lol
It must be really satisfying to see these videos coming together in the edit.
steve
Short but very great editing my guy.
I loved this story!!!
Hey Colt 🫶
The School of Rock was such a funny movie. Great doc Dodford, keep up the great work.
Brilliant documentary! School of Rock and his character was one of the few reasons I loved playing guitar so much.
I'm so happy y'all used an actual Alice Cooper track instead of a "sound-alike" generic rock track. It's the kinda thing that's just required for a Jack Black vid haha
This video dropped perfectly timed lol
This was great! So much footage I’ve never seen before!
Do you think you could stuff any more midroll ads in this one?
Definitely overkill right? I thought it was just me getting them🤷
i just discovered your channel! i love your videos a lot, they are really well-made, informative, and short enough that they can be watched in one sitting. One of my favorite actors is Nicolas Cage, and I think it would be really interesting to do a deep dive on the strange man himself.
I don't care about what happened recently I'm still a huge fan
Just discovered Dodford. This guy's docs are next level.
I'm not against using some AI programs for helping in video creation, but the generated voices/images are actually awful.
Dodford always does a great documentary
Dude, you need to reupload this. Audio issue at 11:56 is insane
Great video, but the audio is ALL over the place. Hope you're able to normalize the levels and balance things a little better in future videos
the timing of this vid is on the scale of NASA landing Curiosity on Mars
This video was insanely good! It felt like you set the stage and allowed Jack Black guide this one all the way!
He doesnt fit in with societies norms, but is in lock step with his beliefs being exactly the same as every LATE night host, every multi national corporate, and 99.9 percent of mainstream and streaming media. What a rebel
How do you guys just buy the shh, hook line and sinker? Did you even watch the video? Is your brother a record exec? Your dad a hollyweird mogul? Did you go to private school? Is your Mom named Cohen. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say - no
@@Ryan-mq2mi YOU JUST PROVED MY POINT.
@@WhatisReal11 lol I apparently only read you first line.
thank you for making such great mini docs. always a great watch
Fun actor, have loved most everything he has been in. However, every actor, including Black, should take notes from Jack Nicholson and stick to keeping us all guessing how they are in real life, at the very least politically.
Apart from everything else, the editing on this video is incredible.
Arent you required to put “paid promotion”
Dude, your channel is something else. SUPER PROFESSIONAL STUFF. Inspirational and awesome.
Bruh what is that buzzing at 11:58 that's intense.
the editing is mindblowimg !! great video !
Your thumbnail looks like the movie poster of "Being Jacques Chirac", a french documentary that uses archives like you do ^^
just tell me how did you come up with these stuff? these things are amazing! you are amazing! HUGE FAN :)
