    Tony - suggestion on why the door/ignition chime may not be working.
    My Mustang had the same issue with the door chime not being audible . I went on UA-cam and found a video showing how to fix it. Take the chime box apart and replace the old worn-out O-ring with a new rubber one.
    That should help fix the problem. 😊

    Really enjoying the Cimarron videos. My Cimarron also doesn’t have an audible chime so I wonder if this was a common issue? I personally like the annoying buzzers and chimes. It is part of the car’s foibles. The first time I heard the buzzer was on my Dad’s 72 LTD, which I still have. He put a more modern chime in it but I replaced it with the original buzzer as that’s how they built it.

    Hell of a friend there!
    I knew someone who’s mom had one of these back 35 years ago. I knew exactly what it was, both recognizing it as a caddy, and as a dolled up Caviler. Still found the car to be neat. Hers had the early engine… 1.7 I think? Had a 5 speed too. Was in great shape but her dumbass boyfriend rebuilt the engine, and it was junked 6 months later.

    All these years later, I'm finally starting to understand the intended vibe of the Cimarron. It all has to do with suspension of disbelief. You must force yourself to believe that the Cavalier doesn't exist and pretend this car is exclusively a very entry-level baby Cadillac...a "real" Cadillac.

  • @michaelconnolly2500
    @michaelconnolly2500 Рік тому +4

    I have a 1988 Sunbird. Probably 90% the same parts. Note the Cavalier 1982 to1987 front fenders are not interchangable with the rest of the J cars...they are about 1/2 inch shorter in length from the wheel well to the bumper. Why GM made them that way is a mystery.
