I broke my phone during the lockdown so was unable to get it repaired so my old phone came in clutch. Never sell old devices they wille eventually be helpful someday for something.
Pro tip: when your annoying siblings ask for your phone to play games, you can give them your old phone.

@Odin Son and even if the support runs out, oneplus have great root support 2, i used the oneplus 3t but recently upgraded to the realme 6 pro, the oneplus was awesome but i figured im gonna get a new phone, the realme's pretty good 2

Some of these apps make more sense being installed in your primary device.
I always recycle mine as mp3 players, I use my UA-cam premium to sign in for ad free music and then give them to my daughter, as she often forgets to charge hers, so they are good back ups.
My old Ipod is on my dock plugged into a speaker for dinner music.
My old phone is used for my 4K camera and video.
My wife's old phone's battery exploded so... it's not doing too well.

We use the money by selling the old smartphone, though all the uses are fine they are not cost effective and reliable to any point. This video is more like a 5-min craft video where all the tips seems good but are in reality kind of useless.

I personally use old phone as secondary screen to check colour of my edits as my laptop screen is not that colour accurate but phone is more often then not.
I use space desk for that.

I always take more photos and 4K videos, because of that even my internal storage is 256GB, and my SD Card us 256GB, I don't have space🤣 within 15days it gets full 🤣 so I use my secondary phone as my storage device as well as for my backup phone if my primary phone goes out of charge!

TBH the only really useful ones here are the WiFi and camers things.
The reason you need a new phone in the first place is usually because something is broken, and, let's face it, it is most typically the screen.
Using some computer software you can actually control your phone with your mouse and PC display, and in so doing install and setup whatever apps you want to run without personal interference.
I had a good Lenovo phone lying around so I sold it and everyone in my family have phones which r not more then an year old so the only old android phone we have left is Panasonic p81 from 2014

not hating on anybody...but the videos made by this guy feels heavily scripted (ik every youtuber has scripts of some sort)..like he narrates in a flow ...i don't feel his personal opinions seep into it during the shoot...seems quite monotonous and lack of good humour or sarcasm also adds upto it. hope everybody takes it as a constructive criticism cause it was bugging me for quite sometime.

How to use my old oneplus 2 as a music device which can be controlled by my new oneplus 7 device??
You can install Spotify app on both the devices, then connect them with same wifi and then you can use one phone to control music on The other one in The Spotify app.
I uze a lenovo p2 (bought 4 years ago) as my daily driver. Has all what i require from a phone. Has 5.5" amoled screen. Has 5000 mah battery. Has SD 625 processor (great for day to day usage except games like pubg). Runs Official lineage os 17.1. Can take good quality photos using GcaM. Has taken hell lot of abuse. I dropped it countless times, once even stepped on it and dragged it along the road while playing tug of war. Still holding like a tank.
Don't buy often. Just install custom ROMs

I have a question for you, is it possible to remote to an old smartphone, use it's camera to view something AND be able to run an application to monitor something.
For example, we have some GSM/ 3G boosters installed, we are unable to monitor them and they regularly fail.
A visual inspection, why we need the camera, can provide some detail as to its current state.
But if all lights are on, it can still fail to transmit, hence the app to see power levels from the device.
Is it possible, or are we looking at a MicroProcessor?

I'm at the age where where I'm currently using a 4 year old phone,and the only way or reason why i would up grade is if this phone stops working for some reason.
And believe it or not, for a 4 year old phone,with Android 8, this phone still has excellent battery life and still works better than most modern day flagship phones, because it's so much easier to use because you don't have these extra "bells and whistles" that these new phones have,that only complicates your phone experience,and makes it alot less user friendly

Note only the original pixel has real unlimited photo upload feature. Pixel 2,3&4. Full resolution photo upload stops after 2 years of purchase
a used $10 old droid phone upcycled to be a frontdoor security motion detector camera alerting me of movement when I expect packages is an absolute bargain, and unike a convoluted rasberry pi diy setup, I'd get it done with a convenient app and an already assembled physical hardware I just point in a general direction, this is the versatility used and dated technologies we were never taught had the potential to be procured so readily and economically, I'm grateful for everything involved in such innovations to be priced fairly like this to the world.

I use my old POCO F1 as an Emby Media Center. It's like my own streaming service.
Storage is limited indeed but it covers all shows that netflix-prime doesn't have. Plus its more power efficient than setting up a PC as one.
