Heidi, I could really use a video with plant ideas for part sun areas. Those areas that might get only a couple hours afternoon sun - too much for full shade to thrive, too little for a full sun to do well. Love the videos!
I have always been a huge petunia fan, even the old fashioned ones that you had to deadhead constantly. Then the wave petunia came along and it was so pretty...but proven winners has taken petunias to a whole new level and I can't get enough of all of them.
I have Mini Vista Indigo coming in my order from Garden Crossings NEXT WEEK! So very excited about my order of 55 different plants/shrubs!! Let's start planting!! Love your channel. Impressed with your company!
Thank you so much. Get the shovels/trowels ready. Or do you have a Twist n' Plant Auger? = game changer! www.gardencrossings.com/product/proven-winners-twist-n-plant-gardening-auger/
Hi Heidi 🌺 I love all supertunias plants and I love how you match the color of supertunias mini vista and comprarison with each other . Have awonderful day .🦋🌺🦋
Love your videos! I've been learning so much as I'm new to gardening. I would love to learn how to pair all the new plants colors so it doesn't look like a hodgepodge of colors! I'm ready to start my flower garden but afraid of it looking like a color wheel mess. Thank you!
Great video Heidi. What I want to know about is the superbenas. Are there different kimds? Like the royale? Which one produces the big umbrella and is most prolific. I appreciate you taking the time to educate us.
Hi Hidi , l live in Detroit, Michigan and because of you and garden crossing l now have a beautiful garden full of bubble gum. and lots of other stuff you show in you videos❤ ❤❤
Yay Heidi. Thank you so much for doing this comparison. I so appreciate it. It was a really great comparison of all the different mini vistas. I had heard of the supertunia charm term before but didn't realize they were talking about the mini vistas, so that was a good move to change the category to mini vistas. Are the light requirements the same as the supertunia vistas or can they also handle a little shade. I did a mass planting of the jazz berry last year and they performed beautifully under a tall maple tree so the shade was very minimal. I thought I would try it. Its not like a typical maple, kinda like a Canadian maple. Tall and narrow. I don't know the name. Its on a slight incline on the south side of our yard so I planted the supertunia mini vista violet star on the lower level, then some heliopsis above that and then the jazz berry on the other side of the tree. All the neighbors that walked by loved it.
What fertilizer do you recommend? My petunias always seem to get leggy as the summer gets hotter. Am I not watering them enough? Thanks for these great videos, Heidi. Very much appreciated! 💜
Usually that is a sign of not enough food. You can also trim them if they get leggy, this will bulk them back up and branch then out. Here is the fertilizer we recommend using weekly:www.gardencrossings.com/product/plant-food-water-soluble-fertilizer/
Hi. Thanks for your video. I got the Mini Vista Indigo and was about to put it in a hanging basked on the east side of the house with either a white lantana or white verbena. Somewhere else I saw the gardener said that they do not do well with other plants. Is this true? Is the light going to be okay? I have trees around my pool so I don't get morning sun just midday sun. Thanks for your help. Blessings.
I ordered and planted a Supertunia Vista Paradise last Thursday into Sungro potting mix. The petunia was planted in an Earthbox root and veg (similar to your Aquapot) by itself with no other plants. This means is holds water in a reservoir. Directly after planting I fertilized with 1/2 gallon PW water soluble fertilizer. The petunia gets morning sun till noon on my backporch because it faces due East here on the Alabama Gulf Coast (8b). Anyway, I would like for the petunia to get really large and flower like the ones in your yard until the Fall frost. But I also dont want to over fertilize in a 'wicking tub' type pot. Would you recommend fertilizing once every 7 days or 14 days in my situation?
You can add fertilizer every time you fill your reservoir if you would like. If you are fill often like more than once a week, dilute the fertilizer down a bit.

I would love a video with all the vistas together, then all the mini vistas together. This way we can see all the different shades all together. I live in florida zone 9a and would like to know if there are any big growers in the area the public can have access to purchasing proven winners annuals and perennials. We have big box stores and small nurseries that get a drip drip drip of this and that, instead of being able to see/purchase everything at once.

Self cleaning isn’t an accurate term. What it means is they continue to bloom while setting seed after spent blooms. Where regular petunias without dead heading will go to seed and flower production diminishes.

I would agree. They make it easy.

I got the Supertunia mini vista yellow this year and I plan to pair it with soft pink
Sounds like a beautiful combination.

I did some combination planter videos about 6 weeks ago. Check them out. It is a 3 part series.
Great idea to show them side by side 😊..have a great day 😊
Thanks for watching.
Great video!! The comparisons also gave me an idea as to what pairs well with one of my summerific hibiscus plants. 😍
Ohhh sounds like a nice mix.

I will have to do a video on those as well
Heidi thank you for the great video!!!

Very helpful! I always wondered the difference. I love the comparison videos! Have you done a video on verbena yet?
No, but that would be another good idea. thx

Yes these take the same light as petunias. Sun to part sun
Super helpful video! Thank you, Heidi! ❤
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for this very informative video, Heidi!
You are welcome
Very helpful information! Thank you!

Great, thank you, that helps!
Glad it was helpful.
Thanks Heidi. 🌷💚🙃

Could you do a video about pruning and training the new roses?
Do you have a link to the fertilizer? What should I get?

Mini vistas and verbena do great together. And depending on the Lantana that could be a neat look as well. They would want at least 6 hours of sun.
@@gardencrossings Thank you!
Thanks for this. Maybe a video on caring for containers with Supertunias mixed with superbells. Specifically guidance on watering
Yes we can do something like that soon
Thanks Heidi, Great Video!!!😊

What about jazzberry? Isn't that a mini vista?thx Heidi enjoy your videos
She did a video on the vistas about a week or two ago and Jazzberry on that one. Great side by side comparisons on that one too.
It is not a (mini) vista. Just like fuchsia is only a vista, meaning larger flower.
That is not a Mini Vista it is a regular. I just did a video on the Original Vistas a couple weeks ago. Check it out.
Heidi..what flowers are good for shade in a container and are deer resistant?

Heidi - what kind of shrubs or perennials that I can plant near a creek there’s always standing water. Thank you

I have Greenhouse envy! Trying to find Proven winners petunias is very hard in my area. That's the problem with living in the boonies!
We are glad to offer you all of your Proven Winner favorites at www.gardencrossings.com
Could you please do a video explaining the difference in the supertunias? It would be so helpful!
I just did one a week or so ago on the Vistas.
What about pest control
Where does Lovie Dovie fit in?
Lovie Dovie is a Supertunia. It is a bit smaller flower than some.
Self cleaning isn’t an accurate term. What it means is they continue to bloom while setting seed after spent blooms. Where regular petunias without dead heading will go to seed and flower production diminishes.
Supertunias are bred to be sterile and do not produce viable seed.
@@gardencrossingsbut even with sterile seeds there is still seed production?
I'm over supertunias. Bring in the SUPERBENAS, NO SPRAYING NEEDED and just as beautiful ✨️ with the same spreading habits.
Watch for rabbits.
