It's also worth noting that Jim Cummings was the original voice of both Darkwing Duck AND Negaduck; it seemed as though he was reprising his role as the former for this cartoon, but he wound up reprising the latter.
3:33 The look on Mallard's face is a reference to the sideways glance he gave in the '91 opening theme song, and there isn't anything you can say to convince me otherwise.
is interesting how this version of darkwing and negaduck are kinda like an inverse mr.incredible and syndrome (the idol becoming the villain of the fanboy as opposed to the fanboy becoming the villain of the idol)
I just got done watching all of the original Darkwing Duck episodes. Now I'm an obsessed fan too lol But most importantly, since now that I watched the episodes, and some of the comics, I know now without a doubt we're all in incredible danger. The Ducktale family is in incredible danger. Negaduck is NO JOKE. This guy will destroy us all. I am now terrified
4:55 this was also a reference to the original Darkwing Duck: he HATED Gizmoduck, and was EXTREMELY jealous of him, and yes, he thought himself as better than Gizmoduck. This new version of Darkwing does, too. Meaning Darkwing REALLY iS back 100%
Also, there where two Negaducks. The first one was a literal polar opposite created by Megavolt, the second one was from the parallel universe. So this almost combines both.
Tad Stones wanted to reuse Negaduck after his first episode without having to include Posiduck or otherwise talk about Megavolt's tronsplitter. So the yellow suited Negaduck shows up in Just Us Justice Ducks.
Great video and did you know that there going to be an episode dedicated to Darkwing Duck???!!!!!! Looks like you’ll have an analysis video that will be awesome. So, let’s get dangerous!!!🦆🦸🏻👍🤩
I love how in the Darkwing show they were just about to introduce Negaduck by having him attempt murder orphaned kittens before the show was canceled. That's very on brand for Negaduck considering how often his hatred of all things cute and pitiful came up in the original show.
"You either die a , or you live long enough to see yourself become the ." Really think this line was the inspiration. The Orginal Darkwing becomes the villian. wow!
It's because of people like the director in this episode (whose name I can't spell) that the movie industry has become so cluttered with cliches and gimmicks. I don't want a "troubled" Thanos who seeks to bring "balance" to the universe. I want the Mad Titan who is in love with death, both the concept and the literal angel of it. I don't want a reimagining of the Joker, give me the delightfully psychotic clown prince of crime made immortal by Mark Hamill and the DCAU. I don't want an "edgy" Robin Hood; I want the swashbuckling, devious and yet charming champion of the poor. Stop with the gimmicks, Hollywood and Disney and stick with what made your material so good from the beginning
@Tin Watchman Okay, when you put it like that; it makes sense. But the Joker's character was always so mysterious in who he is and why he does what he does. Turning him into a down on his luck comic with zero mention of the Red Hood and the Ace Chemicals exposure just doesn't make him all that scary, to me. As for Thanos, I still think he'd be a bigger threat; if they gave him the "I must earn the favor of Lady Death by creating more death in her name" angle. The whole "bringing balance to the universe" thing with the MCU version makes zero sense, even for a comic character
@@sadlobster1 Eh the Joker's past is multiple choice, so this new movie is just adding another choices to the list, plus i think they said the Joker movie was going to be standalone so it isn't like it will effect DC's cinematic universe.
You got your references wrong. The title is not a reference to the dark knight trilogy of movies. The Duck Knight Returns is actually a reference to the comic the Dark Knight Returns written by Frank Miller which was published in 1986. You would have to be a comic nerd like me to get that reference. I understand the confusion though.
There’s also a jab at the daredevil movie with the whole I lit match dropped on the floor leads to a burning DW on the ground. So basically it was a trailer based off of all the grim and gritty superhero movies that really missed the mark too.

I haven't seen the Duck Tales reboot, and I got excited thinking this was going to lead to new episodes (or reboot) of Darkwing Duck. Seems they reboot him to be a fictional show in the universe of Duck Tales... all so they could make cheap jokes about the entertainment industry. This saddens and disappoints me.
Darkwing might get a reboot since della is back no need for launchpad anymore and this episode was all about them rebooting DW. So they might announce a reboot after the season in over.
Did you pay attention to any of this? This episode was about making Darkwing Duck into a real superhero character in the show. Not a fictional tv show in the universe- a real characted
And judging from the episode ending it looks like the show crew are trying to set up more episodes with Darkwing or a possible spin-off with this incarnation of Darkwing, or maybe both. Especially with the ending of season 2 finale, there's definitely gonna be more with Darkwing.
It's also worth noting that Jim Cummings was the original voice of both Darkwing Duck AND Negaduck; it seemed as though he was reprising his role as the former for this cartoon, but he wound up reprising the latter.
New Negaduck, the perfect symbol of a hero living long enough to become the villain.

Negaduck is awesome!!😍🤩

omg im JUST realizing that it wasnt only a kitten orphanage, it was St. O'Malley
Next season will probably be about nega ducks rising and ultimately be about him being an actual threat unlike the usual DuckTales villain
I am hoping Shere Khan will be a villain since it has been confirmed Talespin is canon in Ducktales.
Schwarzer Ritter I don’t think so, because Kit and Molly are now grown up. Shere Khan is probably dead.
I loved that episode!
