So, has anyone theorized that Donald's bad luck might come from an ancient family curse? Hear me out. Magica told Lena that the DeSpells and the McDucks had been feuding for generations. The McDucks will, at times, amass great wealth and authority, then suddenly lose it all. As an example; clan McDuck owned a castle. later, possibly during Fergus, or Dirty Dingus' time that was all lost and the McDuck family was left destitute. The thing is both Fergus and Dingus seemed to value intellect and hard work, on top of having a strong love for both treasure and adventure. My guess is that the state of the family was caused by one or both of them suffering from crippling bad luck. Once a generation escapes the curse, maybe due to a luck talisman, nothing can stop a McDuck. But, in most cases those afflicted by the curse are in a constant battle throughout there lives.
Tom Reis it is not a family curse if you look at it another way. Donald is a prideful character who always acts as if the world owes him a living but once something goes wrong, he loses his temper and causes his own bad luck. Like in one cartoon when he tried to open Daisy’s window. He lost his temper and made the situation even worse by breaking everything expensive in Daisy’s house. Once he was cured of his temper, only the window broke and Daisy didn’t get upset with him. At least until he laughed at her hat.

I agree that in the case of most stories about Donald your point is valid but this show seems to take a different approach.
Tom Reis not entirely. In the latest episode, Donald believes he has found tranquility and Dewey breaks him of that when he goes back on his criticism of Donald’s homemade chili. Think about it this way Donald’s temper is to Squidward’s Pride. They both believe themselves to be cursed when things don’t go their way. Same thing that happens as the Walmart where I work. When a guilty person gets caught stealing, he/she raises their voices and throw a temper tantrum with curse words and threats. And yet most normal people who don’t steal do the opposite when they are questioned.
@@Zillafeet Again, I see your point. However, in the Lucky Gander episode they specifically point out Donald's luck being out of his control. I'm not saying Donald doesn't sometimes make things worse, but more often than not it seem bad things happen to him that are completely out of his control.
I really liked Nothing Can Stop Donald Duck, specifically when it revealed WHY Donald is always so upset. I've seen so many people use anger for...incredibly dumb reasons. I've seen Goku or Hulk use it because it makes them "stronger," I've seen half of the Straw Hats (save for Luffy) use it because of "comedy reasons." But unlike Goku, Hulk or even NAMI; Donald has legitimate reasons to be upset. When Fate ripped you off by having you be born on the "unluckiest day of the year," when you're constantly mocked by others because they "couldn't understand you" (figuratively and/or literally) AND when you're constantly being shown up by others (in Donald's case, Gladstone and Mickey always seem to have better luck than him;) of course you're gonna be upset. But while the other characters I've mention continue to fail at channeling their anger properly (especially Goku and Nami;) Donald does it the RIGHT way, he uses it to protect his nephews. In Goku's case, he acts like he barely cares about his wife and sons (which makes many people believe he's a terrible father.) With Nami...sure she has "some" moments where she seems to be caring. But every other time, she's like a human female version of Mr.Krabs; someone who'd happily tear someone's arm off for a penny

He is also very defensive and loves his family and friends with all his heart and will never stand up to threats bigger or smaller than him. But what really scares me is that donald has never gotten fully angry and never has used all his combat skull

Maybe that's why they titled it similarly to Della's episode, it happened a while ago and they were just catching us up. I mean, it picks up right where Della's return episode ended so I think this episode happened then.
I think that Donald can be extremely lucky in certain situations I mean how else can he get himself out of dangerous situations without even trying, for example his escape from the guards on the moon. And those situations use up so much good luck he’s only left with bad luck for his life.

@@klimmr Well, since it's the entrance I guess it must have special holograms that are only passable if Lunaris and Penumbra open it via the use of one of their hands. Since we don't see any of the citizens from Tenacity besides Lunaris and Penumbra ever go outside the hologram area, and given the fact the 2 were moon warriors it only makes sense for them to be the ones with the authority to go in and out. Thus making it impossible for Della to accidentally stumble upon it.

Darkwing Duck was the first Disney cartoon I watched as a kid. I never saw Donald as Darkwing due to a few reasons: first his cheek feather design doesn’t match, second Darkwing Duck had a voice you could understand, also I didn’t see Ducktales until I was five. My parents kept me off ducktales until I was older due to getting nightmares from the episode with the ghostly hound. We only had vhs tapes of the shows until we finally got cable when I was four.

Okay, I get it you don't like the idea one of the main characters dying in the show. Don't get me wrong though, I don't either! In fact, I'm pretty all of us don't want anyone to die in the show. Don't think you're the only who feels that way, you know. But the reason why a lot of us are saying it because it probably might happen. I mean, do you think the creator woulfld dare lie to us about this? @@Karas540 You make a good point, but objectively a clone would be the same as an identical twin, genetically. And they sometimes develop different voices.
It's only a random theory that's most likely wrong, however I thought it was a fun idea.

Okay, I get it you don't like the idea one of the main characters dying in the show. Don't get me wrong though, I don't either! In fact, I'm pretty all of us don't want anyone to die in the show. Don't think you're the only who feels that way, you know. But the reason why a lot of us are saying it because it probably might happen. I mean, do you think the creator woulfld dare lie to us about this? Because I wouldn't care if they are lying one bit of this whole "death" thing but what would happen if it does come true though huh? You'll never know for sure. Maybe the reason why everyone is talking about this is so that we can be prepared for it. Does that make sense?

No. He is his nephew. Gladstone's mother is Daphne Duck. She also had a never failing good luck. Daphne is Quackmore (Donald and Della's dad) sister.
