The outer ring is programmable...push and hold the C.S. button to select what you want to assign. I've had this ggem since Dec 24 and love it.

Out of interest are yaesu got any plans to bring a replacement for the ft818 . Or the older 857d .
I'm considering purchasing this radio. What kind of power supply does it require? I have a power supply that will deliver up to 30 amps. Is that enough?

Hi, Please help me ... I will buy a new radio and I am in doubt which one to choose ??? Kenwood ts 890 or Icom 7610 ??? yaesu ftdx 101mp can you help me with the opinion on which one is best ??? thanks 73
Buy ts 890 unless the dual vfo is a deal cruncher for you then of course then the ic 7610 will suit your needs there a lot more customisation you can do with the 890 if your a appliance operator plug and go ic7610 the feel.of the 890 oozes quality plus the kenwood audio is always top notch might be a little bias 😉 but highly recommend the radio
The Kenwood TS series are indeed very good radios. However, for the money I would recommend the iCOM IC 7610. This is a front runner in SDR radio technology in this class. Both the Kenwood and Yaesu radios are not true SDR. As we have seen for some time now Yaesu are forever chasing and lagging behind in the technology arena for which iCOM are by far the front runners for Amateur radio.

sad for those like me. yaesu calls this a “mid level priced”. it needs to drop a good $500.usd for that wording.
at over $1500.usd plus taxes, it is out of my price range.
as this price is almost twice a months mortgage. or three months worth of truck payments. a good year worth of power bills.
but not having seen it first hand the screen looks like my eyes can see it
i would like to see one of these in my shack.
