Aside from the walking face first into a wall script writing. There are some schools that run all year long. They give the students a schedule that has them with a given amount of time off depending on which schedule they have. My daughter went to a school in California like that.

Firstly, I wasn't expecting to have the same first name as the character that faked his grandfather's death to skip school. Secondly, the character's brother has the same name as my older half-brother that I've never met. I'm so glad that I discovered this video tonight! 😂

My god. I'm an actual gifted and and that's not how it works. Being gifted is terrible. Harder to make friends, fragile self esteem, and other problems, like, in my case, social anxiety; because of that, I'm failing my grades because of gifted burnout. Not skipping them. This is the biggest bruh moment I've experienced watching Dhar Mann related content.

I do have straight A's and stuff but I wouldn't consider myself a gifted because I've never skipped grades. However I do say I'm not like everyone else in my school, everyone's gay these days and have phones and things. I have "friends" but like 80% of the group I'm "in" are just people at the lunch table. I'd say exactly what you said watching this

The entire concept of how we treat “gifted kids” who are already at a disadvantage socially because of increased sensitivity and underdeveloped emotional intelligence, we also don’t teach them to study, isolate them from their peers and set unreasonably high expectations. I was a 2e kid (learning disability and gifted) so I def suffered

From 8th grade I had the option to test out and start college. My mother thought it would mess me up socially to not do high school. I did end up testing out after 10th grade. This video August is covering is atrocious, but it is true that this a pretty normal thing to skip grades. Being “gifted” and having adults say “the student is too bored, they need a challenge” is pretty normal.

I knew the closest real thing to this kid. Skipped straight to 2nd grade at 5, went from 5th straight to 8th, etc. Pretty sure he had a doctorate before I was in college.
But he had it rough, man. Kid could solve first order differential equations at 8 and spell any word he'd seen once, but his free writing was abysmal because it takes time and experience. Couldn't keep up in PE, had trouble playing on the playground, more socially awkward than I, even.
But I write all this to say that states have graduation requirements, and most colleges have hard limit to how young they'll take you. He had to do 2 years of high school for the credits and another before the university would allow him to attend.

I don't even know why they want him to graduate THAT early, like if you skipped high school you would be 14 since you just finished middle school, and he said he went straight to college, impossible. You can't get accepted into college until age 17. Do they just want him to stay home three years or get job, what is the goal here?
