They dropped SVT from name because the SVT division no longer was involved. The aux switches are fot additional lights or other electrical options you add. The amber lights at the corners and grill are not controlled by the switches. They are DOT requirements due to the vehicle width.
I agree never get old, I got my 14 in May totally by accident my other truck had mechanical problems and I needed a truck the next day. The truck I went to buy wasn't available and there it was so they asked me what about that Raptor? I told them ok if the price is the same as the other truck I can probably make it work. One of the best times of Providence that's ever happened for me I completely love it, won't ever get rid of it now.
Good times, welcome to the Raptor world. I drive 2012 Raptor as well. Not quite all stock chassis, few extras, all legal in ALBERTA, CANADA. Have fun go Offroad
There's an "unofficial" sport mode. You have to be either stopped or going less than 5mph. Press the Off Road Mode then Traction to 1. Now give it gas ;) 0-60 in like 5!
The aux switches are for aftermarket lighting like light bars and such. They dont control anything from the factory. The amber lights turn on with the running lights
The red on the steering wheel, goes along w the front camera. If you're muddin or climbing, the front camera shows you what's ahead, and the red will help you line up straight.
Awesome! I put on the Corsa Extreme cat back(Res. delete) & it is sooo loud. I even towed 3000 miles in it already and no problem(two 13 hour drives). Mpg is horrible but it’s not too bad of an issue for me. I kinda wish the dash had a better display but it was built in 2013 so what can i say. Lmk if you have any more questions!
Mike I had 16k on my 2008 Silverado. I traded that in plus cash for a 2012 Raptor and already have over 1k miles on it. It is a blast to drive. Something about it.
I have a feeling these 1st gens V8 Raptors are going to be very desirable once the majority of the world ditches the V8 for smaller more powerful turbo V6's. I am on the fence between a 1st gen Raptor or a 5.7L V8 Tundra.
Have you driven both? They are two great but very different trucks. The Tundra would be the way to go if you want a work truck or an old-school (reliable) truck while the Raptor is super luxurious, fast and much more fun to drive (but may also cost more in the long-term).
I agree the other issue is the same as with any discontinued vehicle ( V8) they are dissappearing wrecks, high miles ect. The other thing in my mind is it is the first to offer all the "stuff" everyone added to there trucks, off of the show room floor. I think it's going to be the collector mustang, camaro of the truck world.
@@bigfootswatching9986 Do you speak from experience? Mine has been 0 problems. 2014 92k miles. I did have Ford do the fuse 27 fix reported to fail, mine didn't I just wanted to head it off just in case. A little over 200.00.
A loaded down 4x4 Tacoma or 4Runner doesn't get much better mpg than this. I had a 2017 Tacoma 4wd all rigged out for camping/overlanding and I got about 14mpg avg. so you might as well have a V8 and just deal with sucky mpg.
@@DrivenCompanion I’m about to purchase a Gen1 Raptor. I test drove one and it felt kind of clunky? When speeding up, the truck had a jerk on it. Idk what to really look for… Any advice?

Tim Pearson I’m looking for a 2013-2014 model now. Trying to find one with under 60k miles.
@@crunchyblack2224 good luck you spending top dollar then $40k truck was $48k new lol
Wish the 2nd Gen had that 6,2 V8 be interesting to see the gas mileage with the aluminum body and 10 speed auto.
The running lights are not just for show, its required by law for how wide the truck is.
we all know
My dream vehicle as a kid. I remember seeing this come out when I was young and fan girld out over this.
They are still sweet...and much more affordable now!
Just bought a black 2014 Raptor with 42k on the odometer. This review is a great overview of this beast. Great Job!
How you liking it? I'm looking at a 2014 w 39k miles.
Do you still like that 6.2
I just bought a 2012 yesterday... I’m pumped

There's a piece on the wiper stick that is for sending cleaner to the front camera so you don't have to get out and clean it off.
Getting mine in a week, can’t wait!
Are you happy with your purchase of the raptor?

My 2014 6.2 raptor gets 15.5 average but I can get better on the highway 16.7 on flat illinois highway with AMSOIL SIGNATURE SERIES
Recently bought a Black SCREW. It’s a sweet truck. Definitely see why some have such high mileage, it’s a blast to drive.

@@miiiikee_ I put 10k miles on my 2010 in 8 months
I just hit 117k on my 2013 raptor roush. It's been a great solid , fun truck for me .
I owned a 2012 super crew and miss it but I’m enjoying my second gen 2019 lol once you buy a raptor nothing else compares

Ford will be a money pit and leave you stranded!! If you have endless money to fix it.......get a Raptor!

Good point. I have a Tacoma as well and I agree the mileage is terrible and its gutless.
Get a raptor Tacoma are dime a dozen even the optional V6 is weak once you put tires on
Que chulada de truck para mí es la mejor
Good review. thanks
Enjoying your videos! Keep up the good work.
The 13 - 14 I believe are metal body.
they're all metal lol but the gen 1 like these are steel body and the gen 2 is aluminum.

Holly crap you look like Dallas McGregor
